Chapter 19 - Visit sometime

Turning around, I was marveled at the sight of the person I saw. He had a very stern look but I could spot a small smile on his face.

He looked very safe and healthy now, than the first the time I left him.

"You are fired." he said looking at George.

"But sir, I didn't do anything." George said.

"You didn't interview her, yet you told her she can not get employed." He said.

"Take your things and leave." He continued while looking at George.

"Raphael, throw him out." he said to the man that was at his back with his hands on his wheelchair.

"I will leave, myself." George said standing up and packing his things.

"I will make you pay for this." George said to Adira before leaving.

Adira stood there feeling happy and sad. Sad that he got sacked because of her but hey he was at fault.

She was happy that he was healthy, before they called the ambulance that day, she knew he was going to live but she had to go because of Theo's fright.

"Don't think too much, you are hired." He said, smiling at her.

"Are you okay now, sir??" Adira asked.

"Yes, thanks to you." he said smiling widely.

Raphael at the back was amused. He have never seen this old man smiling even to his children.

"I didn't do much sir." she said politely.

"There isn't a need for the formalities, you can call me grand dad." He smiled again, he surprisingly had a nice smile.

"Walk with me." he said giving Raphael at the back a sign to leave.

Adira drops her files on the table and helped the old man with his wheelchair.

This reminded her of when she was in a wheelchair, thinking back, she remembered her family, oh how she miss Theo.

She haven't called so far and she had messed up in her dad's event. Shifting that thought, she decides to focus on the man that was talking in front of her.

"... Name??" he said, she didn't here what he started with but she was sure he asked of her name.

"Adira." she replied shortly.

"Strong, that's a great name. I would love to meet your parents." He said keeping it simple.

"Thank you and you too." Adira said smiling.

"Oh thank you." he said.

"I would love you to visit me at my house, I would have said here but I am already discharged today and my grand kids did not come to take me back home." he said with a very sad voice that moved Adira.

"I would visit you this weekend, how about to that??" she said with a small smile still pushing the wheelchair towards the exit.

"Such a great daughter, I wish I had you." He said with a mischievous smile that Adira was just unable to see because of their position.

"My grand kids are very impatient, anyway when you come I will make sure you meet them." he said cooking something in his head.

"Okay granddad." she replied.

They stopped in front of three BMW'S.

Taking out a card, he stretches it towards her.

"Call this number by weekend, he will pick you up." He said while standing up to enter the passenger seat of the BMW at the middle.

She stood in front of the hospital with the card in her hands while she watched him drive out.

Going back inside, she smiled at the fact that she's got the job but what she applied for wasn't what she wanted initially.

She just decided to put a minor one first, her smile broadened when she remembered her salary. After writing the application, she checked the salary for the lowest employee in Heroux and she was amazed by it.

Walking towards the receptionist, she met the first time to ask of her ID. The receptionist gave her a broad smile.

"Adira, how are you?" the receptionist greeted.

"Oh I am great." she replied.

"I am sure you are!!! after all who won't be happy to work in Heroux." the receptionist said with a smile.

"Ohhh that, yeah I know."

"By the way, I am Katherine." the receptionist introduced herself.

"Great name dear, you know mine already." Adira replied while taking the ID from Katherine.

"See you next time." Katherine said with an honest smile.

"Yeah see you!!! Katty." Adira said with a wink while walking towards the exit. She could tell Katherine was a nice and honest person.

"I don't think you should talk to a slut." a lady that looked in her twenties said.

"Just because she helped him with his wheelchair doesn't make her a slut, now if you would excuse me I have work to do." Katty said while rolling her eyes at the lady.
