"You know I love you Adeline, so why don't you accept my proposal to you." He says after parting their lips.
"I have explained to you, I want my daughter to be okay first, before I think of that." she says while placing her hands around his neck.
"Trust me when I say she is fine, you just have to accept my proposal."
He insert his hands in his pocket bringing out a beautiful diamond ring that was still placed in it's case. Bending, he drops one knee on the ground with the other one, the same height with his waist.
Back in her hospital room
"Sis, mum told me you had an accident and you have been in bed for three years, long isn't it?" He asks while patting her hair causing her to smile.
"Why don't you take me to your mum?" she says sitting up from the bed.
"Oh no, it's our mum and.... ( He taps his forehead) mum said I shouldn't disturb you."
"Don't you want this darling sister of yours to stretch her body?" she asks pouting at him.
"I want you to, I really do but..."
"No buts, help this sister of yours to the doctor, okay!!! from there we can meet mum."
He nods his head fervently, clearly happy that he was helpful to his sister. He walks towards the wheelchair pushing it to the position of his sister.
"Besides mum is also with the doctor." He says.
"Ohhhh okay, then let's go there." she says moving slowly towards the wheelchair, she couldn't believe that she had to use a wheelchair now to walk because her body was stiff.
"What is your name, this sister of yours had an accident before you were born." she says smiling brightly at him.
"Ohhhh right, my name is Theodore but you can call me Theo." He says returning her smile with his toothless one.
"You have such a nice name, you know that right."
"Of course, I know, mama always said it to me."
He says to her while trying to push the wheelchair from the back the way he had seen various people do all the times he came here. Sensing his efforts, she also uses her hand to roll the wheel.
"The doctor office isn't far, it's just a straight road from here." He says opening the door for her to pass.
After closing the door, he walks towards her, still helping her in pushing the wheelchair with the little strength he had. Out of the blue he muttered,
"I wonder what mum is doing there." Not hearing him well she turns back to ask.
"Did you say anything?"
"Not really, no?" He said in a fast pace.
After walking along the hallway, they reached a door that had an encryption on it which read: "Head doctor".
Theo stops pushing the wheelchair and walks to the door, raising his leg up with outstretched hands, he reaches the door handle, twisting it open, not at all looking inside.
Inside the office
Adeline looks at the ring for some time, marveled at its explicit design. She raises her head to look up at him and unknowingly tears drop from her eyes.
The door to the office is swung open but nobody enters, they keep looking at the door until a familiar face is recognised.
Seeing the scene, right before her eyes. A very bright smile was splayed on her face, her eyes literally shone brightly.
At least her mum found happiness, was what ran through her mind. She knew she didn't remember most things but she could recognise her mum, her father, step sister and mother.
She assumed that the man that was on his knees was the doctor, even if his coat was around him.
She could remember her promise to her father, but she wasn't even sure because the memory was blur, she just heard those words and recognised her voice.
She could tell they were very much in love with each other.
"Mum." she said looking at Adeline whose eyes couldn't stop shedding tears.
Adeline makes a move to stand up from the chair but before she could, a tiny voice was heard.
"Mama bear, at least accept so the kind doctor could stand up.''
