It was a bright day in Singapore. The weather was pleasant and the sky was covered with little clouds. The lobby of the lavish five-star hotel that was located in the center of Singapore was filled with people. The hotel furniture was speaking of its expensive cost. The lights of the luxurious chandeliers were bedazzling the eyes.
The dining area of the hotel was overcrowded with elite people of the society. Circular white lamps were hanging from the rooftop making the area view fascinating.
One of the dining tables that existed at the corner and near the wall-sized window was filled with women aged around their fifties. Lisa howes was sitting at the center of the table as it was her favorite place everywhere to be the center of attention. It was a table with six chairs and six ladies of almost the same age were sitting there. Their dresses, bags, and jewelry everything spoke of their high class and brand that was out of reach of the lower class.
Lisa's golden blonde bob hair was styled in curls. She was wearing a long tea pink color gown and a statement pendant on her neck. The dining area was filled with the hum of people talking there. The sound of spoons and forks was also heard while colliding with the plate as people ate from them.
"Jacob has a very great bonding with me. He is very obedient to me." Lisa flaunted while putting the bite of chilli crab in her mouth.
The other women at the table were looking at her with envious eyes.
"Why don't you make us meet him? I am a big fan of his singing. " One of the women on the table who just had lip fillers a few days ago said to her.
"Yes, we will come to meet him at your home." Another woman whose facial wrinkles were attempted to hide from botox said looking at Lisa.
"N..no. " Lisa's face color changed as she listened to what they said. "Actually Jacob stays so much busy that it's difficult for him to take time from his singing and studio. " she immediately settled her face into a smile. "Otherwise, you are all welcome to my home."
"Yeah, we know that." The woman with the lip filler said with a fabricated smile. Everyone at the table knew it was another excuse that Lisa has given to them. She hasn't ever invited them to her home personally.
"Your pendant is beautiful. From where did you buy that?" one of her friends asked her looking at her pendant with bewitching eyes.
"Oh. "She moved fingers on the pendant and giggled. The diamond present on it was sparkling. "It's diamond. Mark gifted me this." She bragged.
The table was filled with all the fake smiles and waves of laughter. They knew that she was falsifying all of this with big lies as her and Mark's relationship wasn't on good terms as the media had already exposed that.
"Ok. I have to go ladies. I have an appointment in the salon for a manicure and pedicure. We will be meeting tomorrow. Bye. " Lisa waved at everyone at the table and smiled. She was feeling uneasy so she had to go from there. They all also waved at her goodbye.
As she left, the table was as always filled with gossip about Lisa Howes and her boastful talks.
"It's ok that you belong to so much elite class and you are a mother of a famous singer plus wife of a successful businessman but saying lies on our faces. It's too much." One of the women at the table proclaimed disgustingly.
"Yeah, she thinks that we are mad and insane and don't know anything. " Another one added.
"You are right. She always talks pretentiously and I feel like hitting on her face. I can't digest these many lies. " Another one with lip fillers said feeling sickened with what Lisa said before.
The woman sitting at the center of the table who was listening to them talking bad about Lisa repeatedly cleared her throat. "Why don't you guys say all of this to her face? Actually, you don't have the guts so you always talk behind her back when she leaves. " she made them realize that they are afraid of saying that to all her face. In the presence of Lisa, they all became so much nicer and more innocent. " Next time when she comes, go and say that to her face. And I am sure you all will not say this to her because you can't afford her disappointment looking at the class she belongs to and the powers she has in society," she said in a sharp tone showing them the mirror of their realities.
The table was filled with pin drop silence listening to what the woman that was wearing blue polka dots shirt with white pants just said. Her hair was tied with a blue and white scrunchie. Her name was Mary. After listening to what Mary said, no one on the table had the strength to let out a word as they all knew that they needed Lisa for some sort of work in their lives. They needed Lisa for their own use because she had a big name in society and they all had many times taken advantage of that. Lisa's husband Mark was also a businessman with a big name so they all can't bear their displeasure. They always had to bow down to Lisa and were also obliged to listen to her conversation no matter how unusual, stupid or ridiculous they were.
