All the preparations for the hiking were completed. They were a total of eight people that were going to the forest for hiking. Two jeeps were taken for traveling. It took two hours for them to reach the forest. They chose a suitable place and put their camps on that spot. It was the start of December and the weather was slightly colder than the other days. They arrived there at 10 pm.
The camps were set under the sky and they burned the fire in the woods between the area of camps. Normally, it was not too much colder in Singapore but as it was the start of December and in the open sky the temperature was feeling cooler. A cold wind was blowing around. They can see huge trees in the forest from their camps. The leaves were making calming sounds as the wind was moving them.
After dinner, they all sat around the fire. Jacob was wearing a lightweight puffer of mustard color with waterproof rain pants. They all were talking and enjoying themselves while Jacob was listening to them quietly and scratching his feet on the ground. Levi was there to manage and take care of all the things. He was wearing long sleeves t-shirts upon jeans. He decided to go with them after having a conversation with his father. He was now calm and know that his father is there and taking care of his mother very well.
Jacob stood and went towards a rock that was a little bit far away from them. The full moon was gleaming with its bright light. He sat on the rock and stargazed at the sky. As a celebrity having a busy schedule and always crowded with people, sometimes he loved to spend some time alone in nature. It was part of his personality that he needed some alone time. He looked back at his companions. Michael was playing guitar and they all were enjoying and singing with him. No one dared to call Jacob to join them because they knew that he want to spend some time alone and he will join them himself when he wants to.
Levi was in the camp making strong coffee for Jacob in the traveling coffee maker that they took with them. After making coffee, he took the hot cup in his hand to give that to Jacob. The smell of freshly brewed coffee having foam on the upper side of the cup was looking compelling and rejuvenating.
Levi came outside the camp, he find Jacob sitting at the rock. He was able to look at his backside. His hairs were braced backward with a hairband.
"Excuse me, sir." Levi vocalized while coming nearer to him.
Jacob glanced at him.
"Your coffee," Levi proceeded the cup towards him.
"Thank you," Jacob said while holding the cup. "I really needed that at this time to feel the peace while drinking my coffee," he took the sip and thanked Levi.
"You're welcome." Levi smiled.
Levi then headed to go to the camp.
"Levi," Jacob named him from behind.
Levi who was going stopped at his voice and turned to Jacob. "Yes, sir."
"Do you like walking in the woods at night?" The question came in a thoughtful voice.
"A, a .,, Yes, I like to walk." He stuttered. He loved walking but not in the woods and the forest in between the big trees. What if they encounter any wild animals and what if they get lost? He thought that but didn't say it to Jacob.
"Ok. Let's go for walk in the woods. Take our headlamps and spare torches. A water bottle too and yes also inform all of them that we are going for walk." Jacob spoke with the flow not knowing what Levi was thinking. His back was facing Levi so he wasn't able to see him and his expressions.
There was silence for a moment. No reply came from Levi's side upon which Jacob looked back towards Levi. Levi was standing at a small distance from Jacob. His face was looking fearful. He was struggling to say something but wasn't able to.
Jacob chuckled. He understood what he wanted to say.
"Don't worry, we are not going far away. Just walking near. Don't think about getting lost and facing the wildlife because we will not. " he stood from the rock and came towards Levi and patted his back.
Levi nodded. After a while, he was present there with all the things that Jacob ordered to bring with him. They put on their headlights and started walking. They were walking towards the big trees. The full moon was lighting up the whole sky and its light was helping them to see clearly and making their path visible. Jacob was forward and Levi was behind him.
"Sir, I think we should go now. " After walking for ten minutes, Levi gathered the courage to say that to Jacob.
"Just two minutes of more walking then we are going back. " Jacob who was walking forward said while comforting her. He was not looking like the Jacob that he was used to seeing at the studio. The one with a stern face and with a serious attitude.
Levi was scared that if something wrong happens to them and no one will be able to rescue them or find out. He didn't know why Jacob was so fearless.
"You know Levi I feel like I have seen this forest in my dreams. " He confessed to Levi while removing the branches of trees that were in their path.
Levi was stunned upon hearing what Jacob said. His feets stopped. He paused walking. His face turned white. All the sounds around him become silent.
'You will surely find something related to your dreams.' All he could hear was only David's voice in his head.
"Levi, " Jacob snapped upon his face then he came back to reality. He shook his head looking at everything around him with awe.
'Is that the fate that took me to there?' he thought to himself.
"Levi, you are feeling not well. Let's go. We are going back. " Jacob worriedly looked at her face. Levi wasn't able to say anything. He just followed Jacob.
They both were slowly walking on their way back. Everything was fine before Levi stumbled upon something. It was a tree branch that came to his foot. He fell to the ground.
"Are you ok?" Jacob immediately came to check out him.
"Yeah. I am fine. It just came in my way." He pointed towards the branch of the tree. Jacob looked at where Levi pointed his hand and there Jacob saw something unusual that caught his eye.
