"Who the hell are you?" Ambrose asked coldly as he looks around.
Ambrose can't see or sense any other Werewolves in the area. Which means that this Werewolf approached him alone. Ambrose can't decide if he's stupid or confident.
The mysterious man chuckled; "You can recognize me as a Werewolf but you can't recognize me as an Alpha? Did anyone ever train you?"
"Alpha?!"
Ambrose immediately went on high alert. He transformed his hands and went into a fighters stance.
"Interesting, you can already do a partial transformation but now I know that you're untrained." The mysterious man continued as he slowly walked up to Ambrose.
Ambrose suddenly dashed at him, taking a low stance and driving his shoulder into the man's stomach. Not willing to give up this opportunity Ambrose clamped his arms around the man's body and pushed him back with his full strength.
'Fuck this guy is hard to move.'
Sensing that he needs more power, Ambrose transformed his legs and gained even more speed and power, crashing through the factory wall and still not stopping.
CRASH!
"Ho?"
Despite being put through a wall, the man was completely unfazed.
'As expected from an Alpha.'
Still charging with the man locked in place, Ambrose uses his momentum and swings the man around violently before throwing him into old machinery.
CRASH!
BANG!
The dust settles and the man is coated in a dark blue aura from head to toe. Completely unharmed, the man walks towards Ambrose with his hands in his pockets. "You see this blue stuff? You can't beat me without it, why don't we stop the useless fighting. I only came here because I sensed a wolf of my blood in New York which surprised me."
"Bloodline?" Ambrose opened his eyes wide; "That means you're…"
"I'm not sure exactly what relation I have to you if I'm being honest. I left the pack 900 years ago and I had 4 sons."
"Let me reintroduce myself, my name is Astar De Wraith, former Alpha of the Midnight Pack. What's your name little wolf?" The man named Astar De Wraith introduced himself with a slight bow.
"My name is Ambrose Zirel."
"Hmm… Ambrose huh. Do you know what the name Ambrose means?"
"Wasn't it just a name?"
SIGH!
"Kids these days…" Astar puts on a look of defeat that only makes a vein pop on Ambrose's temple. "Ambrose means 'Immortal' in Greek. HAHA pretty fitting isn't it?"
"Uhh I guess?"
'What's with this old man?'
Ambrose had mixed feelings about this supposed family member. On one hand he's happy that he got to meet a blood relative but on the other hand he can tell this old guy likes to play tricks.
"Hey old man can you teach me how to use that blue thing?"
"I will if you call me grandpa." The old man said with a cheeky smile but that fades away quickly when he sees Ambrose about to walk out of the building. "Wait wait don't go! I'll teach you, I'll teach!!"
Ambrose had a smile on his face when he turned around and the old man immediately knew he got tricked.
'Damn brat!'
"Hey old man, how strong is your pack?" Ambrose asked.
"It's your pack too you know, and anyway our pack is considered one of the most powerful to ever exist and is also one of the most ancient. There are over 20 Alphas and thousands of betas."
"Wait, wait. Thousands?! And 20 Alphas? How does that work?" Ambrose was immediately shocked to his core over this revelation.
"Ah I guess it's not surprising that you don't know. There is a rank above Alpha, it's been called many names like Apex Wolf or Alpha Ruler. But in our pack it's called True Alpha. Every Major pack has one. It's the only way to keep control of every Alpha in the pack. This rank is not something that can he given or earned. The only way to achieve it is to be born with the potential for it. True Alphas are absolute monsters that can destroy small countries." Astar sighed; "Anyways, below Alphas are Betas, they can only transform completely when the sky is dark and they make up most of the fighting force of the pack. Deltas who are below them, can only use their full transformation during a full moon but can still use partial transformation." Astar explained.
Ambrose had to take a minute to process all of that information. He had mixed feelings knowing that he came from such a prestigious pack.
Throwing such thoughts to the back of his mind he went back to his first question; "Old man so what was that blue stuff on your body?"
"That is what is called Wolf Aura. All Werewolves are born with it and it's usually white, but the direct lineage of our True Alpha has their Wolf Aura colored dark blue. It's essentially an extra power on top of our physical strength. It's main application is to bolster our physical strength and prowess as well as defense but it can be used to coat weapons and such. At higher degrees of mastery it can be used to create weapons out of the Aura itself." Astar shows an example by creating a great sword out of Wolf Aura; "Other races have their own special perks, like Vampires for example. Their strength is based on how thick their blood is. A Vampire with a weak lineage could never surpass one with a strong one. Although all natural born Vampires can use Blood Arts, which is essentially the ability to manipulate their own blood, those with strong lineages have other abilities like the ability to teleport or to control darkness itself."
"Teleport? That's cool." Ambrose said absentmindedly, still thinking about special abilities.
"Indeed, now sit down. I'm going to use a special method developed by our pack to awaken your Wolf Aura. Usually it takes rigorous years of training, even for geniuses."
Ambrose obediently sat on the ground.
"Now close your eyes."
The second Ambrose closed his eyes he felt an unstoppable force entering his body.
CRACK!
CRACK!
The force was powerful enough to split his Alpha skin open, which says something. Blood spurted out from his wounds but Ambrose never made a sound.
'Good kid.' Astar nodded in silent approval.
Only ten minutes passed when Ambrose's eyes shot open with their glowing blue color and with one big breath; "AWOOOOO!!!"
Astar took his hand off of Ambrose's back and moved away with a slight smile.
Ambrose's wounds healed and his entire body became coated with his dark blue Wolf Aura.
