"Do you promise this?" she asked, looking at him with doe eyes which he found very cute. He felt pinching her cheek but he refrained from doing so. He didn't want to upset her by stepping out of his place.
"Of course," " he said with a smile and she smiled back at him. Genuinely. He stated to her realizing that this was the first time she had ever smiled so genuinely at him. The first time it was never forced, it was beautiful.
"Alright, I will touch it," she said and walked towards it. He smiled again wondering why she was so excited and eager to see a dragon. Well, he was glad that she did not fear them or think that they were evil and mindless creatures.
"Place your palm on this one first," he said, taking her hand and directing her to the left.
"Can you tell me what this does?" she asked, her hand pausing mid-air. She didn't know what it does so touching would be foolish. Though he had said it would let her know if she was indeed a mage, still, it was better to know what each of them does.
"If a white light is emitted from it, it proves that you do have magic in you and are indeed a mage, but if it doesn't then you are not and there would be no need to touch the other," he explained and she nodded.
She would do this and be over with it. The thought of having magic in her was tempting but she had to be realistic. She was human and humans don't do magic. If nothing happened, he would stop bothering her about it.
She reached out her hand and touched it. For the first few seconds, nothing happened and she thought she was right and was about to take back her hand when she saw a spark inside and froze leaving her hand on it. A little light appeared, spreading through the orb until it became blinding and the orb cracked.
While her mouth fell open and she widened in surprise, Arzaan smiled. She was indeed powerful. She had enough power locked up inside of her to annihilate a small village with a single move if she was trained.
"You can take down your hand, My Love," he said, taking hold of her hand. " Do you believe that you do have it in you to world magic?" he asked but she still stared blankly at the orb that had now returned to its original state. "Come with me," he said, taking her to the next. This was the one he was uncertain about.
"That can't be possible, right?" she
asked and he smiled fondly at her. "Come, let us see what this has for you," he said, leading her to it. "This would tell us where your source of power comes from," She stopped and looked at him with a questioning gaze. "What is it?"
"What are the options?" she asked.
That was a good question, but should he answer it?
"I want to know," she pressed.
"It can either be from the heavens or the underworld. If the color illuminated us of light, then it is from the heavens, but if it is dark, then…" he trailed but that was more than enough to tell her what he failed to say.
"Alright, I understand," she said and proceeded to move forward reaching for the orb. Right now she was no longer doing it because she wanted to see a dragon. She wanted to see just what would happen now that her hopes had been raised. She could wield and command magic. Her heart pounded loudly as she punched closer to it. She felt an adrenaline rush the closer she got and anticipation of the unknown grew.
"Don't think too much about it," Arzaan said. He let go of her hand and circled her waist instead. If it was to be from the far, he would have to find a way for her to channel her power while making sure that the dark creatures don't find anything to latch on to and escape to the surface. "It doesn't matter, whichever it turns out to be, it is still good."
How was it good if her source of peer came from darkness? She asked herself, but she nodded and touched it. Just like before, nothing happened but she was not quick to assume anything as she did before. After almost a minute had passed, something happened and the orb cracked and shattered to pieces.
Aezaan was quick enough to pull to himself and turn around to shield her from the shards. When everything was all calm, he released her and stared at her face. Cupping her face with both palms he smiled. What he saw was unique, no one in the past had that before. She was the first whom he had seen.
Hazel was confused by the smile that played on his lips. She did not understand a thing that happened or why the orb broke. She looked at him a million questions but didn't know which to ask first. All that she saw was black and white and then it broke.
Seeing her like this tempted him to kiss her. Though she was confused that anyone could see that, she was also very adorable like that. She looked like a curious child who couldn't wait to have the answers that she so desired.
"You are amazing," he said and kissed her forehead. Yeah, he has to put those somewhere or he might end up kissing her lips and she would become mad at him again.
"I am?" she asked, still confused.
"Yes, you are," he said and she blinked. "It is the perfect balance, light, and darkness in one," he said but she still did not understand him. "Your power comes from both sides, this has never happened before, you are the first.". He explained.
"Really?" she asked, starting to grasp what he was saying.
"Yes, those whose source come from heaven have difficulty cultivating with dark magic while those with dark magic also have difficulty cultivating with light magic but you have both so you can cultivate whichever easily without having to struggle too much," he informed her.
"I… I don't know what to say," she finally spoke. For someone who had never done anything related to magic before, this was a bit too much to take in at once.
"You don't have to say anything," she nodded.
"Did I miss everything already?" Idril asked. He walked inside and beside him were Sage and Evergreen.
