Natasha whispered, "Reaper, I have faith in you. You'll ensure they can't harm me," she voiced her trust.
Silent as ever, he embraced her, being careful not to exert excessive strength and inadvertently cause her pain.
She distanced herself slightly, enough to meet his gaze. "Won't you speak?" she inquired.
He gently opened his eyes, locking his gaze with hers. "I promise you, no one will harm you," he whispered, his words meant solely for her ears.
She grinned, "I'm aware." However, her smile faded as she realized she was still legally wedded to a true monster. "Before anything else, there's something I want to do," she expressed, determined to maintain eye contact with him.
"Your husband?" Reaper mentioned her husband, and she nodded in acknowledgment.
"Allow me to handle it. I refuse to be constrained by the bonds of matrimony," she asserted.
