Chapter 5 - I want him to feel haunted

The door opened and Nigel walked in with his back facing the office. Sensing someone's presence inside the office, he turns around only to receive the shock of a lifetime.

He saw Natasha sitting and flipping through the pages of a document without a single care in the World. She sat there comfortably not at all responding to the gaze that had been cast upon her for a while now. When she seemed to have gotten all that she needed from the document on the desk she raised her head to meet his gaze with hers. A beautiful smile appeared on her lips upon seeing his reaction.

While Nigel was stupefied. He didn't dare to blink even for a second. He stared at her unable to move his feet, they had become too heavy for him to move them.

Then suddenly, Natasha rose to her feet, picked up the file that she was reading, and held it in her hand before stepping away from the desk and began approaching him, her smile never leaving her pretty face.

"Nat... Nata... Natasha...!" he stuttered as he called her name. But before he could finish his words, Natasha disappeared from his eyes. He looked around the office trying to find her as a human couldn't vanish into thin air but that was exactly what happened.

Natasha had completely disappeared right before his eyes. He staggered backward as his body hit the wall and he slumped down on the ground. What happened just now felt like a dream. An illusion that felt so real that he almost believed was real.

Remembering that he saw her holding a file in her hand when he saw her, he gathered some strength rose from the floor, and approached the desk, he opened the drawers and scanned through the contents inside and discovered that some important documents were missing.

Reality slapped him hard across his face as it dawned on him that what he saw was not an illusion but an actual occurrence.

He moved away from the spot he was standing suddenly afraid to be standing in the place where she stood before. He didn't dare to touch the seat he saw sitting either.

'How was it possible? How could she do that? She was never dead, so that could not have been her ghost that had come to seek revenge, right? It couldn't be. Nigel was not ready to accept what he had just seen.

He could never bring himself to accept it. She was not a witch who would appear and disappear as she liked. Although the fact that she disappeared from a locked room was still a mystery that he had yet to solve, he still would not believe that she could disappear into thin air. He just left those documents at home.

Just be sure he could have the head of security check the surveillance in the hallway leading to his office to make sure that no one had entered there before him.

Soon the head of security came in with a flash drive in his hand. "Sir, I have the drive that you asked for." the security said.

Nigel stretched out his hand and the flash drive was placed on his palm. He turned on his laptop connected the drive to it and played the footage of the earlier hours of the morning before his entry and found everything just fine. Besides the cleaner who came in to clean and left shortly after, no one else came into the office.

Nigel was finally relaxed. "You can leave," he said waving his hand at the head of security.

The man had a lot of questions to ask his boss why he suddenly asked for something like that as soon as he got to the office but refrained from himself as it was not in his position to probe. "Yes sir," he said and strided out of the office shutting the door behind him.

Nigel went to take a seat behind the desk and started working. He was still a little nervous but he shoved that feeling into the back of his mind.

Natasha appeared back at the mansion with the files in her bedroom. She placed it on the bed sat beside them and started to caress papers, tears appeared at the edge of her eyes threatening to fall which she fought and prevented from rolling down her cheeks.

Reaper appeared beside the bed where she was sitting and staring into the woods outside the window with empty eyes and a blank countenance. There wasn't any emotion on her face. She just sat there with her hair scattered all over her face.

He walked over to her and brushed away the hair from her face. His fingers slightly made contact with her skin pulling her out of her trance.

She shifted her gaze and saw Reaper standing right in front of her with his hand holding a strand of her hair and swallowing her saliva. No matter how she tried to put it, Reaper in his human looked nothing less than the God of beauty.

Though his face was emotionless and his eyes seemed to stare seep down into your soul, they were still captivating. She looked at him unable to take her eyes off him.

"What did you do today, little bunny?" Reaper asked, his grim voice snapping her back from her infatuation with him. 'How could that be? She asked herself. She knew he was not human but was she fantasizing about him?'

"I was the company today. There are some things that I needed to get from the office and I got them." Natasha said after shaking her head.

"Mhm. What do plan to do next?" he asked.

"I will visit the mansion later when he has returned from the company in the evening," she said and lay on the bed staring at the ceiling.

"Why not now?" Reaper asked.

"Because I want him to see me. I want him to feel haunted." Natasha said as her eyes slowly dropped closed falling asleep. Due to the various emotions that were going through her, she could not help but sleep. At least she knew that Reaper would not hurt her. She knew that much and trusted her instincts to bring her guard down whenever he was near her.

Seeing that she had fallen asleep, Reaper walked over to her adjusted her position on the bed, and tucked her in. He had no idea why he was doing that but he did it.

After that, he stood there and just stared at her sleeping face, his lips slowly lifted into a faint smile as he looked at her pretty face. After some time of looking at the sleeping girl, he walked towards a sofa and sat down on it waiting for when she would wake up.
