Chapter 11 - Transformation Magic

It came to them as a shock. No one knew what was going on, and how to explain it.

The only thing they are aware of is the fact that a Void Mage was able to fly, the wings hanging on his back and how his figure shifted earlier were the only things that they know.

"...…"

They are silent, and none of them had the slightest idea of what to say. They are simply that shocked. William turned to the Red Tower Mages and stare at them for a brief moment before turning to Hannah.

She was still in shock. William waves his hand and smiles at her. Out of shock, Hannah waved back.

"How in the world did this happen?" Mark's father muttered. He was the first one that managed to recover from the shock. Some of the people around him broke out of shock thanks to him.

But the question remains. 'How did William manage to do it?' a Void Mage breaking out of the system is something that never happened ever since the beginning of time.

"What is that magic?"  Volt asked.

It makes sense for all of them to be confused. William's appearance is not entirely human. The wings on his back and the scales on both of his hands that resembled those of birds are what make all of them confused.

"Damn this monster," Andre said to himself. It was understandable. The fear he initially had when facing William without any proper spell came true.

Being able to put up a fight without any proper spells and just efficiently utilizing Firebolt at that time was already a horror, but now that William has access to spells they are unaware of, things will make a huge turn and will go down to history.

"What is that magic?" A delegate from the Red Tower asked. He boldly stepped forward, among his peers, he is the only one that gathered the courage to strike a question.

William turned to him and answered, "Transformation magic." His answer is straightforward. But it doesn't give them a perfect explanation.

He is accessing a spell that freezes the ground, anyone already figured out that it is a spell accessible only to Prime Mages. 'So, how?'

They all have the same question in mind.

"I partially transformed into a magical beast and I can control this magical beast's mana nature." William further explained.

His opponent, an unnamed kid is too astonished to even speak a single word. The man that changed the standard of the test is now in front of him and he brought an even more shocking result compared to last time.

"Can I even win a match against him? No matter how I look at it, he looks badass." It is not words of degradation but amazement. William's radical appearance amazed the kids he inspired. Even his opponent is looking at him eyes filled with admiration.

"I want to fight him. I will brag about this in the future!" He composed himself knowing that William is his senior and that he might have already mastered his spells up to a certain point.

Only by fighting him now will he be able to see William's extent of abilities.

"Do we continue the match? There is a lot of uncertainty about this." The referee told Mark's father. He is uncertain about things as well but as soon as he saw the expression on William's opponent, he made a decision.

"Continue with the match." He spoke with certainty.

Immediately, the others opposed his decision to continue the match. Their concerns are understandable. With William's unknown magic, things might take a drastic turn and put everyone in danger.

He realized it as well but disregards it for he knew that William knows his limits well without even mentioning his genius. "If he can do this much, I can already tell that he must have trained hard and controlled his spells properly." He said to himself.

"This is crazy. We cannot allow such a thing. Putting that kid's life in danger is something that we should not do."

He looked at them and smiled. "That's the last thing you should say. We don't have the right to even think about that, did you forget last year's test?"

They know what he meant. When William was injured badly after getting pierced by a metal spike during the match against Andre, none of them even thought of stopping the match.

They fell silent. None of them can refute his words for they know for themselves that they have every power to stop the match and yet, they didn't.

"I know this may sound crazy but I believe in William. Yes, I wanted him to see the harsh reality but it doesn't mean I did not believe in him. If he can get this far, that only means he is capable of controlling his spells well."

"But still, that doesn't mean we should-"

"I figured you'd say that. If you are all against this match then why don't we ask his opponent? With his consent, I believe it will be acceptable for all of you." He added when his colleagues are persisting.

In the end, they asked William's opponent who ultimately accepts the match without any second thought.

"I gladly accept. I want to fight William." He said with a huge smile on his face.

They are defeated and were left speechless. None of them can stop the match anymore.

"You can both start when you are ready." The referee said bitterly.

"I will put my name on the line. William will control his unknown magic perfectly."

Mark's father gaze upon William in amazement.

With the match resumed, all of them are on the edge of their seats. Especially the ones that belong to the towers since the result of the match will determine William's stand in the world.

"Hello, senior William. I am Roya. I was greatly moved by your determination last year so I trained hard to somewhat reach your level." He said enthusiastically. William smiles at his enthusiasm and nods his head.

"Nice to meet you, I am William. Though it was just my persistence and bad luck, I am honored to have inspired you in some way." William retorted.

The fight started and Roya surprised everyone with his cluster of magic circles. Even with just 3 magic circles, it was impressive. William himself smiled after seeing someone pulling off something like that.

"This kid- to think that he is crazy like me." He thought.

It was ridiculous in his eyes. He knew full well about the cluster's recoil, so to save Roya from the suffering. William froze everything around him, the magic circles vanished.

He broke his opponent's focus. Without any delay, William froze his opponent's shoes and glued him to the floor.

As William slowly walks towards him, the floor crackle as it freezes. The victor was clear.

"Huff! I can't feel my legs. Just as I thought, you are indeed strong, senior." Roya said with a pained tone. "You idiot. This is nothing compared to the recoil of a cluster of spells. But I like it. You are not afraid to take risks." William pat Roya's shoulder.

And just like that, William won effortlessly. Roya accepted it and is grateful to be defeated by his idol.

"This is crazy. That monster just became a real monster." Volt muttered after seeing what happened. William did not use any kind of spells. Every real mage can figure that out just by watching it.

Just as William said, he controlled the magical beast's mana nature.

This day is the debut of what the world will come to know as the Great Mage in the future.
