[Gina's P.O.V.]
"I saw my parents being killed by the Alpha of Dark Night Pack with my own eyes. He's a demon, I don't want to see him again."
She smiled bitterly and her eyes were filled with the same emotion. My heart ached and I hugged her as I patted her back and comforted her. "It's okay. Fortunately, you escaped. You don't have to see him again."
But Dolly didn't feel comforted at all. Instead, her entire body stiffened. For some reason, she had an awkward expression on her face as she replied suspiciously, "Yeah..."
Dolly and I had gone through the same experience and I could almost see myself in her. This made me hate Reid even more. I didn't understand why there would be such a cruel person who treated his race like grass.
I wanted to tell Dolly everything about my past, but a voice in my heart told me not to, so I dispelled my intention to communicate with her.
In the end, I just hugged Dolly and made a sincere oath to her. "You are my only friend. I will always protect you."
Dolly had been crying, and when she heard what I said, she stopped moving. After some time, she sat up in my arms and looked at me with a serious expression. "The time I spent living with you was the happiest time of my life. You are also my best friend."
She seemed to have made up her mind and grabbed my hands. "Don't wait here, come with me."
I didn't know how long I'd been waiting for Pirlo, but he never appeared. I didn't want to admit it, but the answer in my heart became clearer every day. It had already been so long, and Pirlo probably wouldn't be returning.
"I beg you, please come with me." Dolly repeated her words again. I couldn't understand why she was being so insistent now. She was looking more anxious too. I felt that something was wrong and was filled with suspicion.
"Where to? What do you mean by that?"
I didn't know if I was being overly suspicious. I shouldn't have doubted my friend, so I decided not to think too much about it anymore.
Dolly seemed to have realized that she had lost her composure and quickly let go of my hand. She put on a relaxed smile and said, "I left something important at home and I want you to come along with me to retrieve it."
I became even more suspicious. I noticed that Dolly's expression was looking more unnatural as if she was trying to hide something.
After spending so much time with Dolly who had experienced something as similar to me, I had been trusting her a little more. In addition, she had no ill intentions toward me at all. So, I thought that even if I suspected her, I would be able to figure things out eventually.
I wanted to completely trust Dolly, but Teacher had told me that one should never let down one's guard, so I tried probing again.
"Why the fuss over retrieving something?"
"I'm just afraid that you won't come with me and will still want to wait. "
I squinted at Dolly, but she didn't look me in the eye. Instead, she lowered her head.
I pretended to agree, wanting to see what she was going to do. "You've been with me for so long. How can I not accompany you this time?"
Upon hearing my words, Dolly chuckled. I instantly caught the apologetic look in her eyes.
"Then let's go." Dolly grabbed my wrist and tried to run, but I didn't move. She turned back and looked at me, confused.
At this moment, I was surrounded by a group of Dark Night Pack warriors. They were getting closer and closer to me. I wanted to run but there was no way out.
I glared at Dolly with eyes full of hatred, as if all the blood in my body was raging through my veins. I couldn't believe that such a simple and innocent person, my first friend who had been with me for so many days, had actually lied to me.
I trusted her, but this was the result of that trust. I should have listened to my brother from the beginning and not have any relationship with her.
Dolly noticed my gaze and didn't dare to look at me anymore. She looked at the warriors behind her who were baring their teeth at her, making her lower her head like a dog.
In the end, she smacked me unconscious and I was taken away.
Luckily, Dolly didn't use too much strength. I woke up quickly, but still pretended to be asleep. I could vaguely hear the conversation between the werewolves who were holding me.
"I hope this is that d*mned child. Alpha offspring are so hard to find that we had to use an Omega offspring."
"Our Alpha is really smart, children know children better so we just have to track the scent of the Omega cubs we sent out. Now, we have found so many cubs at once."
"But this one doesn't look like it either, she's too small, she looks like an Omega."
As I had suspected, Dolly had been hired by them to lie to me. Everything that I experienced with her was fake. I was glad that I didn't foolishly tell her everything about my past. Otherwise, I would be finished.
A basin of cold water was poured on me, instantly invigorating me. I was pressed to the ground but I still raised my head and saw the other party looking down at me, his eyes full of arrogance and contempt.
I had been brought to the b*stard who killed my parents and slaughtered my Pack, the Alpha of Dark Night Pack, Reid.
