He turned around and left the room before I had a chance to say anything.
What just happened?!
I stayed up all night trying to come up with a logical explanation for what had happened. Twice I sniffed my breath but it was okay to me. Then why did he leave just when I was sure he was about to kiss me? I was so lost in our dreamy conversation that I had totally forgotten about asking him what his name was.
Thinking about it, it was probably for the best he left when he did. I didn't know how the Baron would react if he knew his brother-in-law had been in my room or worse, how the Baroness was going to react. She'd probably feed me to the bird.
The next morning, I got up and completed most of my chores. I was grateful for not seeing him throughout the morning. Later on, Margaret told me about how the Baroness and her brother had gone out shopping. They had taken Nivia along. I was relieved for the most part.
Not long after, they returned from shopping and the house busted with sounds and activities. I stayed in the safety of my room because the last thing I needed was any form of awkwardness between "you know who" and me. I still didn't know what his name was which made referring to him as "You Know Who" easier. That didn't stop me from twitching at the slightest movements around the door to my room. I was convinced he would be crazy enough to try coming to my room during the day. He looked like he was crazy enough to do just about anything.
By ranking, I was below him and that was very obvious. It might be one of the reasons I got attracted to him so fast. The scent oozing of his raw strength must have driven my whole being mad with wanting. It was the first time I had experienced that sort of thing. Besides, what would make a warrior like his choose an underling like me. I needed to dismiss him completely from my mind. If it was that easy.
The Baroness (I still preferred Camille but let's stick with Baroness for now) summoned me which was just the motivation I needed to break out of the chain of troubling thoughts I was having over her brother. I picked a simple sun dress that matched the color of my eyes from the bag holding my new collection. I didn't want another exclamation over how good I was looking. I knew I had the curves and I was satisfied keeping that knowledge to myself alone.
She looked me over for a few seconds while I bowed awaiting her errands. Her face was expressionless just as I expected but her brain was working. I would have given a fair share of my soul just to know what she was thinking at that moment. She just nodded and went on to dictate the errand. I was to go into town to the market and grab a couple of provisions. Enough to stock two store rooms. She got the driver and a hired handyman to go along with me.
In the market, the task was more erratic than I anticipated it was going to be. The handyman that lugged behind me just out of reach was a Lycan warrior. He was well known but nobody knew what his real name was so they all just called him Rocky and he was used to it already. I once heard Rocky killed five men using only his fists.
I had stopped believing those heroic tales a long time ago because of what happened with Ser Jacob Giles- the most powerful Delta at the time. The dude was so strong he was unchallenged in all the clans. One time I heard he fought a horde of rogues all by himself and killed every single one of them. I looked up to him as a kid. What the people didn't know was that the powerful Ser Jacob was a drunk and he would drink all night just to go home to hit his timid little wife. One day, she pulled a sword on him and killed our invincible hero. Some say she killed him while he was awake and scared enough to pee his pants while others say she killed him in his sleep. All I grabbed and held on to ever since was that our highly decorated Hero was killed by a woman so whatever they said about Rocky was none of my business.
As we moved from shop to shop, I turned around twice and saw Rocky staring at my ass down my long legs. I dismissed it as nothing till I saw him do it the third time and this time he didn't stop.
"Excuse me! Are you staring at my ass?"
The grin he gave me was just the answer I needed. I was surprised at how direct I had been in asking the question. Where exactly was this newfound confidence coming out from?
"Sure. And your long creamy legs." He said still looking.
This was the first time I was hearing the man speak and the effect of his voice on me was massive. His voice was the soft baritone of a man that didn't stress or beg for anything he needed. He just took it.
"Well stop it." I managed to say.
"Why?"
"What?" I stopped and turned to face him. His face was handsome and very hairy. He had enough hair to make a luxurious fur coat.
"Why should I stop staring at your round ass and legs. Long creamy legs if I might add." He grinned.
My face went red and what annoyed me the most was the effect this brute's voice and words were having on me. I could feel my whole body going hot with lust and somewhere that shouldn't be moist was getting moist. Very moist.
"Please just stop it. Please." The last word came out in a helpless little purr. My legs were already weak with desire. What was wrong with me? Why was I suddenly craving pleasures I never had the opportunity of experiencing?
I turned around before he could say anything and started walking in a sprint. My heart raced faster than my legs as I drew in deep breaths trying to steady myself. Then suddenly, his hands pulled me, yanking me through a passage, and we were in a dark slaughter room that looked like it was abandoned.
Wtf! What the actual fuck?!
