Julie didn't make any effort to dance, she just sat by the bartender drinking a bottle of beer. She spent time drinking the bottle, since she wasn't planning on getting drunk.
Taylor, on the other hand, had been sitting on a sofa with Rachel next to him. Rachel had been saying something to him thinking he was actually listening to her but he wasn't paying any attention to her, which she noticed when she asked him for a dance.
"Taylor, I'd l-l-love it, if we h-ha-had this dance", she managed to force those words out of her mouth while bowing her head down. He didn't give her a reply neither was he listening to her, rather his eyes were fixed on Julie, soon he stood up and walked up to her.
Rachel felt heart broken and her mouth was wide-opened. She had summed up all the courage in her to utter those words which she said earlier.
"Is that bottle gonna be enough for you?", Taylor asked Julie, who just became aware of his presence. "Yes of course, I didn't come here to party like you guys", She strictly replied. "So why did you come with us?". "I needed a space", she said before taking a sip from the bottle. "A space from who?, Damien?", Taylor asked feeling very sure of his alternative. "Yes!, no I mean no", Julie couldn't bring herself to lie. "I'm not surprised, Damien has never been a cool guy, especially when it comes to girls". "Not from Damien, Damien is a sweet person", she forced herself to say those words, her reaction while saying this, might have made it obvious that she didn't mean what she said about Damien.
"Well, It's very obvious your family members aren't in support of our relationship". "Yeah, that's true, why don't you end it all with him then", he spoke with no regrets of what he had just said. "Do you know you're very bad at giving advice?". "I'm not someone that work out myself with things that are unnecessary", he replied before he ordered for a drink from the bartender while making efforts to sit next to her.
Rachel couldn't sit there and watch them discuss. She furiously stood up and walked out of the bar being very emotional. She tried to call her brother but she got no response after trying seven times. This made her more upset. She called a cab and went home that night feeling so down.
After she finished the bottle of beer, Julie said "I think it's time for me to go home". "Okay, then I'll have to go with you, let me call the driver". He walked away to find a place quiet enough for him to call. When Julie stood up to go, Freddy came over, "Hey beautiful, are you going home already?, isn't it too early?". "I have to go home, Damien wasn't aware I left", She told him.
Julie and Freddy had already become friends, Julie felt that among Taylor's friends, Freddy was more jovial and looked more decent. He was her type of person, so she felt free with him.
"Okay then, take care dear", he said to her, trying to sound loud enough for her to hear him. She had walked a few distance away, when he came after her and asked her for her phone number. She gave him her number, willingly.
She had walked out of the bar to wait for Taylor when a huge guy came towards her. "Hello princess, you look really sexy tonight, Don't you remember me?", He spoke in his husky voice.
"Damn it!", Julie knew this guy, he was a crafty thug she met when she came to the city.
Julie used to work for a man, who she helped in doing his dirty work. And it was through this man she met this thug, now standing in front of her. He had been after her ever since she resigned working for him.
He roughly pulled her by the waist closer to himself and he shoved her hair and held her head while saying "Aren't you looking more beautiful than the last time we saw, Juliana?". Julie tried to repel herself from him but she couldn't. She jerked her head off his hand since he was still holding on to her hair. "You haven't changed, sweetheart", he spoke briskly and gave out a horrible laugh. "Let me go or else". "Or else, what??!!!" he questioned her before he gave out a loud laugh. "What are you gonna do?", he asked her as he held her hand tightly making his sharp finger dig into her skin. After laughing, he said something to his henchmen who were also laughing with him.
Immediately, Julie knocked her head furiously over his nose and kicked him in his groin very hard, causing him to give out a loud groan. She managed to get out of his arms, now his henchmen were after her. She dashed out of there and was able to get a cab.
When she got into the cab, she Instructed him to start driving. She couldn't stop breathing fast and heavily, that the driver was always tempted to look into his rear-view mirror because of this and when she noticed this she scolded him, "Can't you keep your eyes on the road?".
