Chapter 1 - Situ Feng

In a chess room, Situ Fengtian was taking up a challenge but his tactics seemed unorthodox, thus making it hard for the opponents he had to even shake his pawns.

In fact, over the years, Situ has made adjustments to the point that when opponents set rules are becoming more and more useless.

He'd even give them the chance to set some limitations just so that he can learn from them and improve. Chess might not be a big deal for some people but that is not the case for those that have spent decades of their lives dedicated to this craft.

Challenges from powerful and worthy opponents are not something that others can compete against. Ever since he got involved with Chess there have been no risks he was unwilling to take, especially when it got to the point that the number of defeats he suffered was becoming less and less.

Eventually, he even worried that there might be a day when he no longer has a way forward due to a lack of opponents. His tactic of allowing opponents to put some restrictions on him seemed to have developed from that fear of lacking a worthy opponent.

It is also this same behavior that earned him the title, Chess Psycho.

As much as others were not very used to this, in the end, it was within the set principles of chess.

"Hahahaha!!!.. I'm taking this round again. Who can be this young master's opponent?" An arrogant voice could be heard from the room.

The voice came from Fengtian and this was not his usual nature but he realized that this group of people needed the motivation to craft some new tricks and from them, he learned a lot too.

All of them were methods to take advantage of the limitations set on oneself against those without. With the proper thinking capability, he has done well so far.

Having achieved glory again without even moving his essential pieces was indeed beginning to become boring. In the beginning, perhaps he might have enjoyed it, but with time it was becoming dull.

Walking on the streets back home, he had some plans on what to do the next day, after people like them, with high chess skills, and analytical abilities were already beyond average, and acquiring gigs easily.

They could easily afford them living a stable life but in the end, he felt like the excitement was no longer there as he had to even suppress himself for opponents to barely compete.

The chess game is the only thing he is good at and the only time he can show off. But in the world, that is not enough to allow him to soar.

In a way, his distorted chess tactics have developed due to the feeling that society has not treated him very well, but he is still an intelligent person.

After being in college for three years even though he can't be said to be popular, he still has some acquaintances developed through chess but most prefer to avoid him.

Unknowingly to him, someone else has been watching him all this time.

Even from his earlier chess games, and when he was leaving the college gate, the person smiled.

"Boy your chess skills are not bad, how about experiencing mine" Listening to the voice he was first puzzled at who was speaking, then excited, but it turned into fear.

He found that he was no longer on the street, all over it was white, and a huge formation could be seen in space, covering everything including planets, "Chess is just nothing but some formation puzzle. Arrogant kid, you are not worthy of that arrogance."

The words from the old man made him unconsciously want to refute, but he realized that something was not right. How did he get into this place, and who dragged him to this place, more importantly how come these people seem like gods, he saw in some novel adaptation animes growing up.

"Not quite right! What kind of drug did I just ingest to get to this situation, perhaps I should not travel on foot back home from now on. But how to break this game, wait, that person just said that chess is just a part of some formation. I have studied chess and can be sure it has infinite variations but that is about it, lets's see what makes this old man so confident."His thoughts were restrained as he looked around.

Before saying anything, in return to what the man had said, an explosion occurred in the distance, and in the end, it seemed to have decimated everything in the distant starry sky until it become dark.

Looking at the man that had brought him here, a small light spread out from his palm, it seemed like a miniature version of the formation in the sky, but the power and prestige it was carrying seemed unimaginable.

The man just poked it, and it went straight like a bullet that kept magnifying the further it went, not only did everything seem to have stopped, even time, only darkness engulfed Situ and he was sure he had some unwilling roars in the sky.

"Damn, Huang Di you are crazy?"

"What are you trying to accomplish by doing this?"

"You are cutting off the path for some of us, we will fight it out with you."

The last thing he heard before his consciousness dissipated was a very haughty laughter.

He did not know anything about what was happening or had happened to him, even his fear was nowhere to be seen in the last moment.

As his thoughts were slowing down at the last moment, he remembered what the old man had said, chess was part of a formation. Then what is a complete formation?

But that was not his only thought, he was an orphan in this life, and also his regret that he never did find his parents but wondered at the moment if reincarnation was possible to be reborn in a good family and world with more adventures.

As for Huang Di, who just stood in the sky, trying to pierce it with his fingers, Situ also kept it in another corner of his mind.

He did not care about them until his the darkness had completely taken him out.
