Chapter 26 - MESSAGE

"Agassi, it is i Ae rin. May I come in?" She asks from outside.

"Come in!" Ok Jung orders.

Ae rin walks in and bows. "Agassi, I have a message for you from the palace." She reports with all smiles.

"What message? And why are you smiling this much?" Ok Jung asks.

"That is because Prince Yeoning sent it."

"Seriously? The prince sent me a message?" Ok Jung asks with excitement but surprised.

"Yes Agassi." Ae rin nods still with smiles.

"Where is the message?"

"It is here." She dips her hand in her blouse and brings out a letter. "Here it is ma'am."

"Who brought it here?" Ok Jung asks as she collects the letter.

"One of his messengers did."

Carefully and with a lot of smiles, she opens the letter but stopped smiling immediately after reading the contents, instead her hand trembles. Although, she had happen to meet Seol Im just a few times, but the memories she shared with her were so lovely and beautiful that she never thought she could die. "Seol Im." She whispers.

"Agassi, Is everything okay with you? Did the prince cancel the marriage?" Ae rin asks very worried.

"Seol Im is dead." Ok Jung says gently to her attendant.

"Who is Seol Im?" She asks again and sits opposite her lady. "I don't know who that is."

"She is the crown prince's childhood friend, she died because of someone." Ok Jung narrates with tears in her eyes.

"Really?" She asks quietly. "Then the prince must be in a mourning mood right now."

"Yes." Ok Jung nods and sighs. "I will like to be alone now Ae rin, I need to rest and clear my head."

"Alright my lady." Ae rin bows and walks out.

Ok Jung really wanted to explain everything in the letter to Ae rin who is her only friend, but unfortunately she can't because the prince instructed he not to. In the letter, it was clearly stated that Seol Im died because of prince Gwang Jae and the terrible acts he involved himself in. Her husband to be also mentioned that prince Gwang Jae is looking for the person who saved him from the fake thieves two years ago, which means he is looking for no other person but Ok Jung.

"Prince Gwang Jae, why are you looking for me? What are you trying to do?" she asks herself and picks up the letter to go through it again. At the end of the letter, it was stated that Ok Jung gets rid of the letter immediately. "Yeoning, you must become crown prince no matter what it takes, you have to become crown prince." She rumples the letter and throws it into the brazier very close to her. "I will use my power and influence to get you that title." She whispers to herself.

The young miss stands and walks straight to her father's room. "Father, it is I Ok Jung." She announces from outside.

"Come in!" Lord Jang orders.

"Yes." Ok Jung walks in and bows, surprisingly she sees her mother and brother too. "I never expected to see you both here." She says with a smug look.

"Why?!" Bai asks loudly. "Aren't we part of the family too?"

"Do you have anything you want to tell me?" Lord Jang asks.

"Yes father." She nods.

"Aren't we allowed to hear it too?" Hae Jae asks with a bit of jealousy.

"Why do you keep pushing us out anytime you want to talk to my husband?" Bai asks with utmost jealousy.

"I just need some private time with my father, that's all." Ok Jung says and shrugs her shoulders.

"Say whatever you want to say here now, or come back later. We aren't leaving this place for any reason." Hae Jae retorts.

"I didn't ask you to leave anyways, I actually want to talk to all of you."

"Really?" Bai asks with some excitement and interest.

"Yes." Ok Jung goes all four on the floor.

"Ok Jung." Lord Jang calls worried.

"What is wrong? Is everything okay?" Bai asks with worry too.

"If there is anything you want to say, just say it, why do you have to be like this." Hae Jae nags.

"I have a Favour to ask of you all, and I will be very glad if you can do that for me." Ok Jung starts off still in her position.

"What do you want?" Lord Jang asks.

"Please, help me and make Prince Yeoning the crown prince, he must become the crown prince." She begs.

"Ok Jung!" Bai calls loudly.

"Haven't I warned you not seek or urge power?" Lord Jang asks with a tone of anger.

"Father I seek and urge power so that we can survive. Once I get married to him and we become couples, we share the same problems, trials and tribulations. If anything happens to him, I would get affected too. The prince will find it very difficult to live if Prince Gwang Jae takes that title." She says with a lot of confidence.

"How come you are so sure of what you are saying? How can you be so sure that if Prince Gwang Jae becomes crown prince, the life of prince Yeoning will be threatened?" Lord Jang asks in curiosity.

"Father." Ok Jung calls and finally raises her head, now sitting. "Prince Gwang Jae isn't qualified to be a king or even be a prince in the first place."

"What do you mean by that?" Hae Jae asks.

"Prince Gwang Jae sexually harasses and assaults women, he did that to the the prince's child hood friend and she killed herself two days ago."

"Are you sure of what you are saying?!" Bai asks almost whispering.

"Yes." Ok Jung nods. "She left a note, seeking justice before she did that. Also, the lady investigators also confirmed it as the prince had been reportedly forcing even giseang and other young ladies to serve him in bed."
