"Hello, " he greets his wife.
"Hi!" she responds with a gloomy face. "where have you been?" "I've been waiting for you."
He walks towards her but the closer he gets the more angry she became.
"I was...," he fails to answer. "what, Mr. Mubu, don't you know where you have been? you dashed out of this house without saying anything. In a blink of an eye I couldn't find you, I thought you were outside somewhere smoking since I know you usually hide from the kids when you're smoking. but I went around and couldn't see you." Just after she said that, he realized it was the wife he heard outside when he was in the other house.
He began to think to himself, "I was right, I thought I was imagining things." "Eish, had she known I was in the house, I would have been killed, that was a close one."
The wife noticed that he wasn't paying attention. She briskly moved from the chair and tried to approach him, then he realized she was very upset.
"I was outside, I just took a walk because I was suffocated and I had too much to think of. I needed some fresh air, or cant i have my personal time?"
"but do you have to go out this late?" she responded. As she tried to raise her voice, he walked close to her and held her gently, cuddled her and played with her hair. "Don't worry love, I didn't stray too far." He looked into her eyes with love and she melted.
"I know you couldn't go anywhere far, it's just because i was worried, anything can happen." He held her by the hand and walked with her to the bedroom pushing his hand slowly around her waist as a way of coming her down but deep down in his heart he knew the truth.
The night passed with no further arguments. The next morning everything was fine, everybody was happy they were awake. When mrs Mubu open the door the first person she saw was her immediate neighbor who greeted her with a wide smile that one could even see all 32 teeth in her mouth.
"Good morning neighbor, how are you today?" "Good morning Temwani, I'm fine and everybody is alright." Mrs Mubu answered.
They continued with the chat just like normal Neighbors should. After some minutes they both got busy with daily work. Later in the day, Temwani called her neighbor out, "I brought you some relish, you know I live alone and I wouldn't love to eat this alone, so I thought of you as a good neighbor, I hope you don't mind." Mrs Mubu received the relish with joy and she wasn't surprised as this wasn't the first time her neighbor would share something special with her. She opened the bowl to check what was in it, "wow! as if you knew I was craving for stew. my family is having caterpillars for lunch, I'll supplement my meal with this stew. Thank you, let me go back in, my husband is around and he wouldn't be happy if I delayed his meal." "All right, see you later and I hope you enjoy this stew," Temwani says bye with smiley face.
As Mrs Mubu entered the house, her husband asked her who was at the door and when she said it was the neighbor, he asked what she wanted. "She just brought me some stew that she prepared." "You must be good friends, " he asked. "Not really, we usually chat and laugh about a lot of things. Maybe it's because she lives alone. You know it's boring to live alone and she hasn't been going for work lately." Mr Mubu doesn't respond but just continues with what he was doing and the wife goes on with her chors.
