Mr mubu opens the door in readiness to leave for work and the first thing he saw was a pool of water, shrubs, a red cloth tied to some roots.
"What's this?" He shouted.
He walks back in the house, straight to the living room where he found his wife sleeping in a couch. He pulled the blanket, and scolded at her.
"You don't only bring men to my house but also use charms to silence me."
The wife couldn't respond because she did not know what he was talking about.
"I don't want you here, carry your bags along with your baggage, when i come back from work i should find you gone or else you won't like what i will do to you." He slams the door and walks out.
Mrs Mubu gets shocked and wonders why the husband behaved like that. She drugs herself to the door, only to finds the shrubs at the door step.
"Neighbor, neighbor!" she called. Temwani come out with urgency. "Hello, you called me?" she said. "Yes, look at this, what do you think this can be?"
"Before i answer what this is, i have a question."
"Yes. you can ask."
"What happened to your face?" Temwani asked. "Its a long story, but am fine," Mrs Mubu responded.
"My sister, if your husband did this to you you must report him to the police." Mrs Mubu kept quiet as she didn't want the neighbor to be meddling in her marital affair.
"No, he isn't the one, the window hit me unknowingly." She covered up for her husband. "What do you think this is?" she asked about the herbs on her door step.
"I don't know but they sure look like herbs to me. Did you find them here?" Temwani asked.
"Yes and this has caused my husband to get upset, he thinks am using charms on him." she complained.
Temwani looks aside and grins without being noticed, in her heart she was happy that things went sour in her rivals house.
"But who might have put these here? do you people have any relatives that hate you? am sure any of them can do this."
Mrs Mubu agrees with Temwani's idea because she had a confrontation with one of the husbands relatives from the other compound. "But would she go to this limit?" she asked herself.
Temwani showed concern by comforting Mrs Mubu concerning her swelling. She went on to tell her to leave him for a while if the beatings continued. As soon as she said that, Mrs Mubu thought that Temwani would have been the one who put the charms on her door step. Her thought wasn't too strong because at no time did she see her husband interact with Temwani, so she blushed it off.
"I have to go now, i was busy getting ready for a journey when you called. I want to visit my family today." Temwani said. "Ok." Mrs Mubu responded in a low tone.
"How will i remove these charms from door step? Should i use my bare hands?" Instead she decided to get a broom and sweep them on a dust pan. Despite the beatings Mrs Mubu had to make sure everything was done right at home and only then would she be free to take a hot bath and rest.
