Chapter 6 - Blinded by Love

The silence in the house welcomed Mr Mubu. "Are they gone? finally i can have some peace of mind." He thought to himself. Unfortunately, he found his wife in deep sleep.

"What, she hasn't left!" he exclaimed. He brutally woke her up, "what did i tell you?" he asked. She screamed as he pulled the blanket, "black dogs! black dogs! there they go."

Mr Mubu got surprised, "which dogs?" he asked. But the wife doesn't respond, instead she moves to the corner of the bed and continues talking to herself.

He dragged her out of the bedroom and didn't pay attention at what she was saying. The commotion wakes up the child and Mrs Mubu's neice, they watch him drag her out of the bedroom and the whole time she wasn't crying but saying things that were not sensible.

The children cried, then he let her go.

"Black dogs," she said.

Only then did he notice she wasn't herself. "What happened?" he asked the eldest child. The child just explains how the mother prepared their meals and went to bed.

Mr Mubu get puzzled and let her be for a while. How she behaved was a mistry. He got the children and took them to bed just to calm them down, then quickly looked for some sleeping pills to make his wife sleep.

Mr Mubu sat in the living room expecting his wife to get better when she wakes up. With the stress at work and the drama at home, he decides to go and see Temwani and he falls asleep in Temwani's house unknowingly.

"Why did you let me sleep here?"

"I didn't let you sleep, you past out." she answered.

"No, you would have woken me up. You did it on purpose." he woke up and wore his clothes. When he reached home everybody was still sleeping, so he just got ready for work and left.

The house was still quiet until the children woke up. But they also didn't disturb mummy and begin to wash plates and the other swept the yard.

Later in the evening Mr Mubu gets home only to find his wife's situation worse.

He calls one of his relatives to help him.

"Hello, how are you? your sister is sick, come over we take her to the hospital."

They took her to the hospital but they couldn't ascertain the cause of her mental disability. Mr Mubu fails to tell his wife's relatives that he had beaten her but one of them noticed she was swollen.

"She looks swollen, did you beat her?" he's asked. "Me beat my wife, no! no ways."

"If you beat her head unknowingly this may be the reason. We are getting our child and grand child, " her parents said. "If we find out you caused this, i assure you, you will be in trouble." Everyone took off and Mr Mubu said no word. All he could do was watch them leave and wonder whether he caused the problem or not.

Temwani won, Mrs Mubu was out of the equation. all that remained was to find her way into his home.
