mother: "Your first round of training is going to be arcane magic. if you want to survive a dual against another magic user, you'll have to learn arcane magic. Thus, we are starting on it, more importantly, the defense spell."
Malex, "but how do I learn it."
mother: "It's simple really you just got to use your mana more, magic you use mana too picture something and it comes to reality. but arcane magic, you use your mana to defend yourself or anything else you learn to do with it."
Malex, "So I just meditate on using my mana as a protective force?"
mother "ding ding. that's correct."
I start immediately and it's actually a whole lot easier than it sounds, I literally just think about using my mana as a sort of shield and the best part is arcane magic is permanent so I only have too do this once not constantly.
mother "wow you cought on quick. go tell you, Father, and he'll train you on magic."
Malex "okay."
I walk inside and do the hike to the top floor. I walk into the room at the very top.
father, "hey, Malex. finish your training already?"
Malex "Yes."
father "okay follow me."
we walk back down all those stairs and outside to the training grounds.
father "now I know you must be excited to get even more magic types but not even you can get another magic type, yet, so the next best option is too learn even better spells for your current magic type and I have a good idea on what you can learn next that will be very useful."
father tells me to meditate and try to think about a tornado. apparently if you meditate long enough you connect with your mana and with the goal to learn a new spell you can (with time) learn a new spell but if you think about a certain spell you want (if meditated long enough) you can get it.
hours later
wind starts to circle around my hand, and I can feel it.
father "Okay, you have it. Now use it."
I shoot the spell out in front of the training ground. which is just a circle area out in the woods.
as soon as I shoot it out, a huge tornado forms out in the middle of the circle. the tornado is strong, I'm standing about 40 feet away from it, and it's trying to suck me in, but it's my magic, I can control it. I make the spell go away. I look over, and my father is holding onto a tree, bear hugging it.
Malex, "What are you doing."
father "um, you know, just inspecting this here tree."
I start to laugh, and so does Father.
after a while
we are all sitting in a circle table eating food
father, "good job today. you managed to learn your magic type even more and arcane magic, that's impressive."
mother "Yes, I'm so proud of you."
Malex "Mother, I have a question. if you have magic, does uncle have magic too?"
mother "yes he does, but he prefers to live a normal life."
Malex "does auntie know?"
mother "yes she does."
father, "Hey, I just remembered I have a present for you."
father holds out his hand, and out of nowhere, a book plops into his hand.
father, "This is for you to draw in, or if you want, you can right down your lessons."
Malex "Oh, thank you. if you don't mind me asking, how do you know I can draw?"
mother: "Like I said, we have been watching you, and my brother has given me information."
I take the book, and it looks just like that book
flashback
It was my birthday I just turned 14 and I loved drawing anything, comic books, animals, people, and really just everything and as a birthday present my parents (not biological) gave me a personal drawing book.
the next day
I had the book tight in my hand. I walked out of school, and the second I did, I got pulled to the side in an alley.
Nelson "Oh, what's that?"
Malex "please no, my parents got me that for my birthday!"
Nelson "aw too bad."
Nelson then pulls out a lighter and lights the book on fire, and throws it into the garbage can.
Nelson "now it's the garbages birthday present"
I run away so fast and so hard.
present day
mother "Are you okay?"
Malex "Yes, it just brings back a couple of memories."
after dinner
I walk into my new room and sit down in a chair, I open the book and start drawing.
Malex "man, I missed this."
