The Heroine's POV
I was struggling with Jeremy for some minutes. I screamed at the top of my voice, I struggled, I panted, and I cried. Nothing happened. I wasn't even pitied. He kept on assaulting me many times over. I did not know how to feel anymore. I felt worthless at that very point.
"Jeremy, let me go! Please!" I said. Who knows he might just listen.
He gasped the deepest air he could and he released it right under my nose—It felt like hell. Suddenly, I felt like he was resisting for a while. I was struggling for a long while.
I decided to break loose after acting like I was extremely tired.
"Jeremy, why?" I said. His dumb look was enough to continue speaking so he will understand me.
"You killed Jessica," I said as I started crying. These words alone broke me. It always breaks me every single time I remembered that the man that wants to get me killed my only family, my mother
He stared at me.
"Yes, I remember. You wanted to see her at your office. I saw when she left to come and see you at your office."
Jeremy adjusted himself to pay attention to me. It gave me more confidence to speak.
"She came out of your office raged. She was angry…" I said before he started displaying different body languages.
"Really?" He said. It was so bold of me to expect he was going to feel or even have any remorse for his actions. I felt disgusted, but I continued talking.
"She flew in a rage and she decided to send me to New York."
"I didn't realize it was because of you Jeremy. It was You." I said.
Jeremy started walking around me while I was wallowing in my frustration. I was dishing out my realizations to someone that won't care. Not now, or not even in the future.
"She was in such a big haste, she did not give me time to even think things out."
"She did not care at that point if what she was doing would favor me or not."
"Do you even know why all that shit happened?"
I asked rhetorically. I wasn't expecting it. An answer from someone like him. I was tired, but this conversation had to continue. My point of the matter was relevant, I needed to speak out.
"It happened because of you, you!" I scolded.
It seemed like he wasn't listening to me. I approached him with my wrenched fists.
"Now what? Jeremy asked me after seeing me coming towards you."
"You better listen to me, I want to know, I need to know the truth." I dragged him by his collar. It felt like strength had just fallen from above.
Either way, I knew it was temporary, especially after I was assaulted by him.
"Let go of me!" Jeremy raised his voice at me. He held my hands and forcefully dropped them down away from his collar.
"No!" I said while standing strong. The strength I know I didn't have.
Before a blink of an eye, I saw myself going down quickly to the floor. I tried landing well, but no. I did not. Jeremy pushed me to the ground.
"How dare you drop your hands on me?" Jeremy questioned.
The stare in my eyes depicted weakness. I'm quite sure. Who knows? It sure must have given him the confidence to treat me in that manner.
I mean, I was just assaulted by him.
Assaulted!
"You sent someone to chase us after realizing I was going to New York," I said immacably
This time around, I didn't want to be interrupted by anything or anyone. I cared less about his reactions or body languages towards the things I said. I only wanted to hear from him.
He started paying attention to me. I continued working while my confidence was leveling up by the minute, with each word that came out of my mouth.
"On our way to the airport, an unknown person chased us with a car."
"We kept running. We diverted to different roads. The one's I knew and the ones I never saw in my entire life." I said.
I got a little bit stronger to get up from where he threw me.
"I had a bad feeling it wasn't going to end well"
"I wondered why someone would be chasing us on our way to the airport. It wasn't clear to me then, 'cause if it was…"
I paused, as my emotions were swallowed by tears.
"There was an accident, a terrible one." I looked at Mom. She was badly hurt." I said.
"Really, an accident?" Jeremy asked again.
I refused to answer. I continued talking.
"We drove down an unknown road which led to a cliff."
"I don't know what to believe anymore. I told Mum to stop. I begged her not to go any further."
"But the aim was far from becoming reality. We were caught."
"The car suddenly went down the cliff after bumping on some trees."
"Jessica wasn't in charge of the wheel anymore.l, nature was." I said.
Jeremy looked terrified for a long time. I didn't want to judge his looks ie body language. I didn't want to make the same mistake twice.
"I didn't plan an accident, c'mon!" He said while bumping his fists on his palm.
"Ahh! You liar!"
"Jessica bumped her head a whole lot of times on her steering, there was blood everywhere."
"I was in shock. I was devastated. I could not even get a clear view of it mum in case I lose my life"
I said while crying.
"She reached for the door and pushed me out. It was the best of everything she did."
"I wanted to help…I wanted to save my mother."
"I rolled down the cliff and she rolled down the other way."
"I was badly hurt. I was weak." I said as tears flooded my eyes.
Jeremy walked towards me, he looked at me.
He raised his hand and he wanted to wipe my tears.
"Stop!" I said with a loud voice. I held his hand and I stopped him from playing his hands on my face.
