I started thinking of who knows what I am going through. How was I going to make her believe I have been running away from Jeremy for so long?
"Please give me a chance," I said.
I looked at her with teary eyes. I wasn't crying for her to help me, but because I know after this there is no more.
"What kind of support or opportunity do you want?" Malie asked while she turned to my dry face.
I resumed with the thought of what I could do to convince her. I remembered that I worked as an Editor-in-Chief of a newspaper office in Paris.
I remembered his phone number because I usually called him from different phones when I was not going to show up at work. I called him when I had issues because of running away from Jeremy. I deserved to be sacked. He always had mercy on me.
"You can call my Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper office I worked for," I said.
"Interesting. Where is this office?" Malie started becoming inquisitive.
I had no choice but to answer the question.
