"Let's leave that, the most important thing is that you have an important day to celebrate and mird others ahead of you. It is your adult ceremony. Please, be happy." I said in a lovely and soothing tone.
"Yes, I will." I said as she nodded in agreement.
I was cheered up, and I felt better.
I had invited Jeremy to attend the grandest adult ceremony of my beloved daughter. It was so difficult to convince him. He was really busy.
I did not give up, I continued persisting.
Later on, Jeremy said yes to attending the ceremony. It was so difficult, I did not have hope any longer—it was good news.
I decided to tell my daughter.
"Jeremy will be coming to the grandest adult ceremony. Are you even ready?" I said cheerfully.
"Yay! That sounds absolutely great." Alysa said. She smiled. I giggled with great expectations—the fact that she was strong.
Jeremy's POV
I was the charismatic Alpha, Jeremy.
I always did things as he wanted. It was quite difficult for me to predict my next step. I was about six feet tall, and that alone was my pot confidence. Jessica was my Sister, we didn't have much in common. She also had an adopted daughter, Alysa.
I loved to get what I wanted at all costs. I attached no jokes to that.
As the Beta, Cory was always with me, he was close to my location. He carried out his duties and watched after me. I didn't want to bother myself about that, but I was grateful.
"Don't forget you promised to honour Jessica's invitation." Cory said to me.
"I will. I have not forgotten. I have to make out something. For sure, I will show up…for sure I will." I said repeatedly.
I tried to finish up with the least work left—The files untouched. It was exhausting.
Cory dropped new files in the cupboard. He arranged it accordingly, in its designated order. I wish I could work like him.
"Look, this is so much work. I hope I can finish." I said. I was definitely discouraged, but I had to carry out my duties.
"Sure, Jay. You can do this. Just go there, be good." Cory added. He encouraged me like he should do.
I picked up my phone and tried to call Alysa—A birthday wish won't be terrible after all. He called several times, but the call didn't go through.
"Jessica adopted a child. Everything is just becoming clear to me right now. I mean, it doesn't look like it." Cory said.
I was confused, surely. I just agreed to everything Cory said. After all, it was the truth.
"I knew it!!" I said in light excitement of being able to clear some of my doubts.
"Is it a big deal?" Cory asked.
"Of course, no. It is not a big deal. She is big enough to make her own decisions." I said.
I answered the question with full clarity.
Cory finished his work with the files. He dusted himself to leave. After Jessica adopted Alysa, I rarely visited them. I usually saw her once or twice a year, during family gatherings. It made it difficult to have an impression about me.
"I don't even know what she looks like. I mean, she's going to be my heroine. I need to know." I said.
Cory shook his head while giving him a wide smile.
"You have been very busy with work for the last few years—You lift it so well, like it's no burden." Cory said. He tried to praise me a little bit. I didn't want to wallow in that.
I lifted his head up from the last file with a smile.
"C'mon. You're finished already." Cory encouraged me.
"I need to know more about this Aly, or Alysa." I said.
"Alysa." Cory corrected him. He confirmed it before speaking.
"Right, thanks." I said in appreciation.
I was bothered about his impressions. I wanted to know more about Alysa.
Cory started smiling.
"Now why are you smiling? I'm being very serious here and you're playing with me." I said while moving towards Cory.
Cory continued to move backwards.
"Chill, Jay. You don't have to react like that." Cory said.
"I found someone to, you know, check her out. You get it?" Cory added. Jeremy's face brightened up quickly.
"What was the feedback?" Jeremy asked desperately.
"Well, I heard she is really beautiful." Cory said while smiling to his ears.
"Oh please, don't come here with that word man. They are different types of beauty, especially in bed." I became so engrossed in the conversion. I couldn't help it.
"Yes, yes. It was her honour to serve you with such beauty, you know." Cory said while smiling flirtatiously. We flirted with her name, her description and I couldn't help myself with all the obscene imaginations I already had.
"Oh, please." I smiled while biting his lips. I was blushing too.
"You better go get her a suitable gift for your most admired niece." Cory said.
"That's true, I don't know what you should get for her. I mean, I am blank." Cory said while he fidgeted with his fingers.
"A necklace is just perfect." I said while demonstrating towards Cory.
I suggested getting a beautiful necklace from Cory's collection.
"C'mon! Let's get it. Those classy ones from your collections." I added.
"Is that all?" Cory said.
"Get out of here. You should know I'll want to place it on her beautiful neck. I'll want to see how beautiful she will look on it. Oh gosh!"
I said while I continued fantasizing about the plans I had.
I already had my eyes on someone I didn't see. At least not yet. It was cool and I was anticipating that moment.
"From that, what next?" Cory said.
He wanted me to spill the beans.
"I might want her on my bed." I added sharply. Cory reacted with a surprised look.
"You said she's beautiful. There's beauty too under the sheets." I added. They both laughed as they left to the location of the invitation.
Alysa's POV
Anyone would be excited when turning eighteen-years-old. I looked around. I admired the decorations. The fact that everywhere was all like celebrations. I got flashes of what Jessica told me—I was scared but there was no other today. I had to make the best out of it. There were lots of sweets, drinks, and guests—It was just beautiful.
But I didn't expect that this excitement would break through all I thought about.
I was just an abandoned baby picked up by my Foster Mother. The celebration was just too classy for an abandoned baby.
The whole truth made me love and admire Jessica more. She went through a whole lot to make it and to build me.
"I hope the findings of her origin will not affect her in future. She was so kind as to help me." I whispered quietly to myself.
"She really sacrificed a lot for me." I concluded and smiled.
The music was so smooth and I was greeted by a lot of people already—Just beautiful.
I decided to be very happy at my adult ceremony for myself and most importantly, Jessica.
At the beginning of the ceremony, everything went on smoothly.
The grand scene was quite surprising and emotional. I was left alone. Suddenly, the spot light was on me, and every other place was dark. I was showered with petals and birthday music. I was happy, indeed. I just had to enjoy every part of it.
The light was dimmed and there was Mother—She stood elegantly.
