Chapter 28 - Infinity Edge

Wo Shie was shocked to hear someone say their entire clan would stand behind him but this also caused a bit of suspicion to rise within him.

He wondered why Fu Shen would go so far as to support him when he saw what had happened in the forest, how a cloaked figure seemingly decimated an entire forest like it was nothing.

As if Fu Shen could see the confusion and apprehension painted on Wo Shie's face he then added, "My master would like to meet with you, of course after you recover. He will answer all your questions then. Also this… he told me to give it to you now." Fu Shen pulled out the short katana with holes in its blade from a dimensional space and sat it on the table.

"If you want to explore the city have the servant outside inform me so I may accompany you. Alright I'll be seeing you little Shie." With that Fu Shen had walked out.

Wo Shie had a thoughtful expression on his face as Fu Shen walked out. 'He seemed slightly different today or maybe it's just me… anyway who cares all I know is he's not getting this sword back.' Wo Shie walked towards the sword and grabbed it.

As soon as he grabbed the sword it glowed brightly for a short second, and vibrated. At this moment for Wo Shie it looked as though the world began spinning rapidly as his pupils actually started rotating at an extremely high speed.

From his perspective it looked like the world he was in became a blur and he somehow had been sucked into a whirlpool. The only thing keeping him grounded was the physical sensation of not having moved from his own position.

Once his pupils stopped rotating he could see a film of white light covering the blade while the holes now looked to hold the entirety of the abyss, however this was only because of his eyes of the infinite. It's effects he wasn't aware of now.

All Wo Shie was currently aware of was how drained he felt just holding the blade as lethargy overtook him and he tried to get as close to the bed as possible before passing out.

He made it to the edge of the bed and his upper half fell over onto the bed as he finally lost consciousness.

Planet Veda Immortal Dimension

'Hmmm' Lui Marime looked deeply into the sky seemingly piercing through any veil in the distance finding its mark. 'For a moment it felt like my soul was connected to whatever that was, I need to hurry my preparations to go to the mortal plane… I should be ready to go in a year or so.'

"Marime! Come at once we've just detected the Infinity Edge, we are commissioning you to retrieve it since you are by far the most talented of the youngest generation, even if your cultivation has stagnated your prowess is by far the highest." A voice of an aged man came from within a large castle sounding directly in Lui Marime's head.

The Infinity Edge was a weapon that was purely legend to most, nothing but a tale they would tell their children, but to others it was unfathomably real.

No one knew where the blade came from as someone calling himself a harbinger arrived and started slaughtering countless people.

They remembered the battle that ensued, and how a single slash of the Infinity Edge made their universe what it was today, separating the universe into 3 different realms. The mortal plane, the immortal dimension and the realm of the gods. Those that knew of it's actual existence and the truth of the past were spread far and few, simply because most of them would have been long dead if they happened to survive the splitting of the universe.

But there were few that had reached unknown heights in strength that searched multiple universes and worlds in search of power. The splitting of the universe they knew left a deep wound on their psyche causing them to run rampant in their search for power through different universes as they ransacked treasures, and learned from the indigenous people of these universes how they grow stronger.

In this search they also expanded their own universes' horizons. They evolved their cultivation manuals and also formed deeper connections to their roots and their own universe, this caused a huge spike in the strength of their universe. They searched and searched eventually making their universe what it was today.

The Mortal Plane, the Immortal Dimension, and the Realm of the Gods, all held peak powerhouses as their names were just moniker's the powerhouses dubbed them. Their name wasn't a representation of how strong or the peak cultivation they could reach there as the spiritual energy in the air was relatively the same across all three planes of existence. What separated them mostly was the majority of people that resided on the plane.

Even though anyone could cultivate to the peak of their universe on whatever plane they were born on, the most talented usually opted to move up into the plane of existence that corresponded with their cultivation level. This was usually the most beneficial move because one would often run out of sparing partners the more talented you were and also the more you progressed.

Another reason that people believed caused the naming of the realms, was an elaborate scheme from those at the peak to cause those living on 'lower' planes to feel inferior as all the strongest powerhouses in the entire universe had their bases in the realm of the gods.

It was definitely a peculiar situation, and to add icing on the cake 99.99% of the entire population was unaware of shinigami. The one power that governed just about all universes, they deemed judgement on all of humanity as their reach left no shadow untouched.

They we're a megalith that only those that have attained enough power to escape the shackles of death would know about as sometimes they would beg, plead, and even try to bribe the shinigami for an opportunity to save their talents and loved ones.

But the sad reality was no matter how long you lived there was no escape from deaths grasp. Death was the first one to lay his hands on your newborn baby body, he knew when you would die then and still let you live in futility until he came to take your soul back into the river of samsara.

Even the universe wasn't infallible to deaths grip as special shinigami's known as universe reapers would manifest black holes swallowing entire universes not letting a single lifeforms escape.
