The amount of aura the gaurd released was minuscule and little but to Jason who has never felt aura, it felt like he was several hundred feet underground being crushed by the water pressure. His heart picked up the pace and he started hyperventilating as sweat rolled down his face.
The aura was only a part of the reason why he was like this. The main reason was because he had rarely talked to someone else besides his family and Jordan. He could not even hold a proper conversation with his own girlfriend.
Jason opened his mouth and tried speaking but only gibberish came out of his mouth.
"What?" The gaurd asked. The slight pressure he was unconsciously emanating increased by a tiny bit.
"ITSAGOOODDDAAAYYTOOBEALIVE!" Jason shouted once he had recovered himself a little bit. He had no idea what he just shouted but he wanted to live.
The gaurd stared at him for a few seconds before bursting into a loud laughter. "BWAHAHAHAHA!" He laughed loud and heartily and smacked his thighs as he moved around from his spot like a black man.
He removed his mask from his face revealing his handsome well sculpted face. He had azure green eyes and a strong chin. His nose was slightly big but it was also a bit narrow. Tears were coming out of his eyes as he coughed.
After a while he recovered but after glancing at Jason he laughed again. Jason had loosened up as the tiny bit of aura the gaurd had been releasing was gone and he was able to breathe better.
Jason opened his inventory and brought out the identification papers that had been in there since the beginning. He handed it to the gaurd after he had stopped laughing. The gaurd stared into the eyes of Jason.
"Your eyes... they are like that of a child..." he whispered at a low voice that Jason could not hear him properly. "So pure, naive and innocent... I have never seen anything like those eyes before in my life."
The gaurd handed Jason back his identification papers and let him in to the country without even paying the fee. He just let it slide as Jason reminded him of his son.
As Jason advanced he decided to take a glance at the gaurd and inspect him before entering the country.
_____
Name: John Doe
Age: 37
Species: Human
Class: Swordsman (Tier 4)
Level:120
_____
That was all the status screen showed Jason. Jason was surprised that this man was only level 120. He was only level 120 and was guarding such a huge gate all alone. Jason had reached what was level 32 within a month so he was surprised that a level 120 was doing such an important job.
"The difference must be in the tiers." Jason thought and he was right. What Jason didn't know was that with each tier advancement it was no different from gaining 50 extra levels. So the gaurd despite being level 120 was no different from a level 320.
Jason walked into the country and stared around in amazement. The country was similar to the medieval times with slight technological advancements as Jason could see light bulbs, neons and several street vendors using gas cookers.
People buzzed about walking and minding their own business. Some rode horses, some donkeys and some rode fantasy beasts. They rode an six legged creature that looked similar to an elephant but it's center of gravity was lower and it had two trunks and no tusks.
Some people rode on a floating carriage 2 metres above the ground that was pulled by a two legged bipedal creature with fur covering its entire body, a beak and long hair.
Jason walked around for a while exploring things and seeing things. It was sunset and the roads were becoming less and less filled with people. Jason immediately ran towards a shop that was marked on his map. On his map there was several shops that were marked.
This shop was a tailor. Luckily for him the one next to this shop was an alchemy shop. Jason entered the tailor shop and a bell rang. The tailor shop was filled with rugs of materials such as silk, cotton and even leather. There was a giant shelf that was stacked with clothes and on the sides were mannequins wearing fancy clothes.
"Welcome, what can I do for you?" An old man said as Jason walked around the shop. The old man had some freckles and wrinkles on his face. The middle part of his hair was gone while the rest was white and gray. His moustache was red as it had been died. He was a short man wearing a simple chino trousers and a shirt. He wore glasses and was holding a measuring tape.
"H... Hi..." Jason awkwardly said. "I... have... something to sell to you."
The old man frowned and sighed heavily. He was expecting a customer not a salesman. He had dealed with a lot of them lately. They came into his shop trying to sell him knives, kitchenware, swords and even sometimes drugs.
"What is it this time?" The old man asked. He was only entertaining Jason because he was young and looked really naive. Nearly everyone in the entire country who had walked past Jason and looked at him could see that he was naive and gullible. "Show me what it is that you are trying to sell to me."
Jason reached into his inventory and pulled out a small sack. He handed it to the man who glanced inside and nodded. "Wow, for once you are actually selling something useful to me." The man stared at Jason before asking him how much money he wanted.
" 2 copper for every 200 hundred feathers." he said.
'That is cheap.' The old man thought. 'Usually it is sold for 3 copper for every 200 hundred feathers.'
"Very well I'll buy it of you." The old man exclaimed which made Jason happy. The old man spent the next ten minutes counting the amount of feathers. It was 3200 feathers in total. The old man paid Jason 64 copper coins and Jason went next door the alchemist and sold the flamingo beaks. He sold all 23 flamingo beaks and earned 69 copper coins.
Now all he needed to do was go to an inn and sleep for the night.
