"Thank you." Ezra said to Jason. "Had it not been for you I would have died a dogs death." Ezra let out a chuckle which surprised Jason. Just a few minutes ago this kid was on his way to the afterlife but now he was smiling and chuckling.
"Aaah, I should stop laughing, my stomach hurts." The kid said as he held his stomach. Ezra then looked at Jason. "Why did you not take their lifes?" he asked.
"Huh? Why should I take someone's life?" Jason asked in bewilderment.
"They are scum of society who have nothing better to do than to prove themselves superior to people below them." Ezra spoke in a harsh voice with a murderous glint in his eyes.
Jason didn't know what to say. The kid had an ongoing beef with those thugs and from the looks of it he wanted to kill them.
"Listen... I don't have the right to take someone else's life... no one does... unless they commit murder, every human life is no different from another human. Besides these people did not do anything to me... they have not wronged me so it would be wrong of me to take their lifes."
"But they talked about your parents? Is that not enough to take their lifes?"
Jason clicked his tongue. Just why on earth was this kid so focused on murder? Did he want him to go and kill those thugs? Well sucks to be him because he was not going to.
"Those are simple words, simple words are not enough to take a human life..."
Ezra nodded and hugged Jason before walking away. Jason also went on his way. He reached an averagely large building with people walking in and out of it. It was a really busy place as the number of people inside the building reached nearly 100.
This was the building for mercenaries. There were jobs available and anyone could pick any request and fulfill them. There was no such thing as rankings just like in the normal isekai anime that he watched.
Jason pondered on which job he should take. There was so many of them it was ridiculous. There were several boards. Each board was for different people. The first board read beginners and was filled with easy jobs.
The second board read amateur and was filled with easy jobs but gave somewhat of a challenge to beginners who were trying to get stronger. Of course the pay was also better but not by much.
Then there was the intermediate board which was for people who were seasoned but still lacking a lot.
Then there was the expert board which was for veterans and was filled with hard job that paid at minimum 5 times whatever the beginners were getting paid.
Jason took a glance at all boards.
HELP WANTED IN SUBDUING BANDITS
20 COPPER PER BANDITS HEAD.
Next to it floated two words.

No matter what job he looked at the system would tell him the difficulty. He decided to take a look at the expert board.
SUBJUGATION OF CHIMERA BEE NEST
PAY 5 GOLD
<
EXPLORATION OF NEW DUNGEON
PAY: 2 GOLD

The jobs were all like that. Jason decided to go back to the beginner board as he was a beginner and needed to gain experience first.
"Are you looking for a suitable job?" A man asked Jason. He was tall with a handsome face and long black hair tied in a ponytail. He wore white Wuxia clothing and had a small scar on his chin.
Jason nodded.
"I see that your a beginner." Jason nodded once more. The man grabbed a piece of paper from the board and handed it to Jason.
"This one is pretty easy... it was the first request that I ever completed."
GOBLIN SLAYING PAY: 300 COPPER
<< DIFFICULTY: E+>>
Jason nodded and thanked the man and he smiled at him and said no worries. "By the way before you go and complete the request you have to tell the receptionist that your completing it otherwise you won't receive your reward."
"Thank... you..." Jason stuttered. He had been able to talk to the kid and thugs easily an hour ago but he had immediately gone back to his old stuttering self who couldn't hold a conversation.
Jason went to the receptionist. With a smile she said. "Welcome to the Chombul job centre what can I help you with?" The receptionist was a petite woman with a beautiful smile to match her cute face. She was short and wore a simple plain white dress.
Jason handed her the paper. "Are you going to be completing this request?"
Jason nodded.
"Do you have any companions?"
Jason shook his head.
"Then I will register you alone, can I get your identification papers please?"

Jason walked into a weapons store. The weapon store sold weapons of all kinds and just from looking Jason could see that the equipment was not pricey.
He walked into the store and bought 70 handgun bullets for 10 copper. That meant that for every 1 copper he got 7 bullets. Only 89 copper coins left for him. Jason worried about the fact that he could run out of money before he even had a chance to earn money.
Jason set out. On his status screen there was an ongoing quest.
_____
Ongoing quest: Exterminate the goblins that have settled close to the human village. (0/34)
Reward upon completion: 200 copper, +1 stat to random attribute, 20 handgun bullets.
Penalty upon failure: Loss of 2 levels.
_____
Jason had reached the small village where the goblins had set their establishment at. He followed the map and a large yellow circle appeared with a question mark on it.
