"Only three items. Kind of disappointing now that I have taken a proper look at them." Jason said. The Skillbook was kind of tempting but the drawbacks from it made it not worth it. A 40% decrease in defense and a 30% decrease in intelligence for a 5% increase in strength.
This skillbook was worth more to a berserker properly but to a gunman like Jason it did not seem like a great idea.
Jason equipped the hobgoblin key pendant and put it around his neck rather than storing it in his inventory but it looked rather nice. Jason was not a materialistic person but in a video game he cared about looks just as much as gameplay.
If he saw a paladin not wearing armour and using a bow and arrow he would go out of his way and trash talk them and fight them until they looked like a proper paladin.
"I'll keep the key and sell the other two." Jason said.
He then left and headed back to the city. As soon as he stepped into the mercenary building he noticed the amount of people had increased since he had left. He walked to the receptionist who greeted him and smiled.
"Adventurer, you have completed the mission assigned to you and for that you will receive your payment minus a fifteen percent commission fee for the association."
Jason headed over to the job board now 255 copper coins more flush than he previously was. "I spent 4 weeks in the training area, the other players must be above me greatly. I need to catch up to them."
What Jason did not know was that currently he was the only player that was online. The other players would not arrive for another 5 days. Despite not knowing that Jason decided that it would be a good idea to catch up with the other players which was why he picked another quest.
This quest was much simpler than the one he had just done.
It was a simple mission of collecting flowers with certain medicinal properties. The flower was called The Reviver. It was a flower that was used to treat poison and improve a person's digestive and respiratory system.
The only problem was that Jason did not know how to identify it however he quickly figured a way over that problem. In his settings there was an information sensitivity. The more he turned it up the more information he got on more objects.
For a simple door he would see something like this.

Made by a carpenter by the name of Harold Jones.
Durability: 75/100

It was all like that. Doors, tables, people, animals, food and even the clouds in the sky.
Jason turned the sensitivity down to the point where it showed him only the important things.
Jason went on his way. But before he did he went to several stores and sold his drops and then bought ammunition for his guns. He also bought a heavy bullet proof kevlar for 100 copper which was equivalent to 1 silver.

He quickly found the amount of flowers that was needed and gathered some extra. He could sell it to earn some extra money.
It couldn't hurt to have some spare pocket change with him at all times would it? He also spent some time killing some monsters that roamed the fields from which he was looking for flowers. The monsters were small four legged creatures that looked looked like a hedgehog that was covered in feathers and not quills.
They were really fast but they had terrible senses which made it easier for Jason to kill them. He could walk behind them and they would not notice. Even the large sound of the gun didn't scare them. They only looked around and Jason would hide and they would go back to lazing about. He gained a level from killing over 50 of them proofing just how weak and worthless they actually were.
"I made 255 copper from the goblin job. I spent 165 already. I will earn 100 more from this request." Jason was counting how much money he would make and how much money he had spent when he heard a cry for help.
Jason stopped in his tracks and heard it once more. Jason did not know whether it was his imagination but he felt that the cry for help was weaker.
The voice was that of a man. From the sounds of it he was probably injured. Maybe he was about to pass out and that was why his voice grew weaker.
"Should I go help whoever that is?" Jason asked. The cries for help where grower more faint and yet they carried more desperation than before.
"But then again it could be a trap. Usually in RPG's players are lured into the traps of other players by pretending to be injured and crying for help. Considering that they started this game much earlier than me then it should be a no brainer to fall for the trap. But what if it is not a trap? Usually they would use a girl who would scream loudly for help however this sounds like a man and the voice is waning."
Jason thought for a while and after thinking carefully he decided to help. It's not like he had anything to gain or lose. Aside from the key pendant which was practically worth nothing in case it was dropped and the slight chump change he wouldn't drop anything in case he died.
Jason headed in the direction of the screams for help. Sooner he reached it and he saw a man being swallowed alive by a giant plant. The plant was 7 feet tall and it stood on two roots. It did not have a face but underneath its mouth it looked like it had a smile painted on it.
The man being slowly digested had already given up screaming for help. Now he was just absent mindedly whispering for help while he looked at the sky with soulless eyes.
He was already halfway in the plant and just like a snake it's body was bulging forward showing of the morsel that it was currently consuming.
Jason didn't find the huge carnivorous flower scary. He just found it to be ridiculous looking like a clown. He never understood why people where scared of clowns.
Jason removed the two guns from his holsters and aimed. Jason was only helping because he thought that no one should ever die like this. They should never die while being consumed by a big carnivorous plant.
