Chapter 19 - How Is That Possible?

Occupying this region for ten years, Baron Spencer's family would certainly have deep-rooted power.

After Baron Spencer was defeated, the townspeople dealt with the clean-up. Shortly after, a group of residents brought Baron Spencer's corpse into the town.

The townspeople who had tightly shut doors and windows heard the commotion outside. Out of curiosity, many of them stuck their heads out to look.

Soon enough, more and more people heard the revelry and peeked outside.

"What festival is this?" Some of the residents were puzzled.

"Look, that's the mayor and the chief of the security bureau!" Someone pointed out when they noticed the two locked-up men.

"This is great!"

The residents cheered when they heard that Mayor Hesius and Alexander were tied up. Moreover, one of them even opened their window and secretly threw rotten eggs at the two of them.

As the town's supervisors, they had been oppressing the townspeople for many years. Additionally, with the support of Baron Spencer, they were overbearing and domineering all day long. Therefore, everyone hated them to the core.

Now that they were tied up, the town was filled with joyful cheers. Besides that, some people looked at the scene and showed thoughtful expressions.

"Both of them have the support of Baron Spencer." they said, puzzled.

"How dare these people tie them up? Aren't they afraid of Baron Spencer's revenge?"

"Baron Spencer's influence is out of our imaginations, and his strength is beyond many transcendents! How could they do this without fearing death?"

"Yup, there was a young man called Arthur in the past. He sought fault with Baron Spencer, and his whole family ended up getting killed by the Baron."

"Alas, I'm afraid that these people won't live for long. After offending Baron Spencer, they have no way to survive."

Some people sighed in their hearts when they saw the revelry. They felt they were at the end of their lives as they had offended Baron Spencer.

Suddenly, someone pointed at a dried corpse and a horse the residents brought along. He exclaimed,

"You guys, look! That corpse seems to be Baron Spencer!"

"I saw this same armor on the Baron a year ago!"

"And that horse is surely his mount!"

"What?!"

The residents in the town gasped!

"Was Baron Spencer really killed?"

It was unexpected!

A few townsfolk carefully walked out, trying to confirm the news before them. Finally, they caught sight of Baron Spencer's corpse. Based on Mayor Hesius and Alexander's expressions, the news was true!

"Baron Spencer was really killed!"

Additionally, the same Arthur from a month ago killed Baron Spencer!

It had only been one month since he left, but Arthur had already gained enough power to defeat that man!

Arthur's growth speed shocked many people.

Many residents ran in all directions, bringing the news to the forces behind them.

The death of Baron Spencer and the birth of a new strong man. It would definitely change the long-standing division of power in this region.

After discovering that the Baron had died, all the townspeople rushed over. Many cursed the mayor and the security chief.

Others rushed into their houses and found a few dazed girls. Then, they hugged each other in pain.

Arthur couldn't help but frown at their past evil deeds.

Outside the town, people were still singing and dancing in Baron Spencer's castle.

It wasn't unprecedented that someone challenged the Spencer family. However, in the end, they would be killed by the Baron.

In their hearts, Baron Spencer symbolized invincibility. All of Baron Spencer's wives were jubilant except for the one whose son had just died. Because one of the wives had lost a son, they could get more things.

After a while, there was a noise outside.

"Did the Baron kill Arthur and bring his head back?" One of Baron Spencer's wives exclaimed.

"That's definitely the case!"

"I want to place Arthur's head on top of Brour's grave!" she said.

As Brour's biological mother, she ran out with a venomous expression. Each time Baron Spencer left for an expedition, he would always bring a generous amount of loot. They were now looking forward to what the Baron had brought back.

But the closer the sounds outside were, the more they felt something was off. It seemed a little too loud and didn't sound like servants who had brought back spoils of war.

Usually, Baron Spencer would chop off their heads if these servants dared to be so noisy.

"Something's wrong! What's happening outside? Go and take a look!"

One of the Baron's wives pointed at a servant and anxiously ordered. Before the servant could go far, he ran back in from outside.

He ran before the madams and shouted, "Baron Spencer is dead!"

"Run, the Baron has been killed by Arthur!"

"Those townspeople have already taken his corpse to the gate of our castle!"

The Baron's wives and relatives exchanged glances with each other. They all saw the disbelief in the other party's eyes.

Smack!

A loud slap landed on the servant's face.

"Bastard!" One of the ladies cursed. "What nonsense are you talking about?"

"No one in the surrounding towns is a match for the Baron. Who would have the ability to kill him?"

She gave the servant another slap. The entire place fell silent.

"Ma… Ma'am, It's... It's true. The townspeople are already running over." The servant said as he touched his face.

"How is that possible?"

Everyone in the building was in disbelief. The invincible Baron Spencer was defeated?

Furthermore, he was defeated by some kid?

Was this for real? Could this servant be lying to them?

They all looked out of the window of the castle. There was a sea of people outside. Standing in front of the crowd were a few young men instead of Baron Spencer.

Beside them, the mayor and the chief of the Public Security Bureau were thrown to the side while tied up!

Their clothes were torn and tattered, making them look like beggars. It was apparent they had been abused. Aside from that, behind them were all residents from Huska. None of them were servants of the Spencer family.

None of the people sent by Baron Spencer came back! If the Baron were still alive, that would've been impossible.

Alas, they still couldn't believe that the Baron was dead.
