Chapter 23 - Guidance From the God, Lu Yu

"As for a name like you humans, I recall my former comrades called me Lu Yu."

"Lu Yu?"

Arthur faced difficulty trying to say the two words. Saying it out wasn't as smooth as pronouncing 'Chaos Demon Sword'.

Arthur could only sigh in his heart. The name of the artifact was so different compared to the names he had seen and heard.

Lu Yu saw Arthur's confused look and smiled in his heart. This was just a difference in pronunciation between eastern and western people.

Arthur realized it was time to leave Huska. He walked toward the town, ready to bid farewell to his friends. However, when he arrived at the town's entrance, he was shocked by the sea of people!

"This..."

Arthur looked at his best friend, Verus, who'd changed into the mayor's uniform and looked much more energetic.

"Verus, what's going on?" Arthur pointed at the crowd and asked. The entire town gathered together as if they were having a grand celebration. Many held flower baskets, clothes, money, and other precious things.

It was as if they were sending off an important person with heartfelt smiles.

"Arthur, you should ask them yourself." Verus stepped aside and gave way to Arthur.

Arthur walked forward. Suddenly, the sound of the surging crowd stirred up layers of huge waves!

"Arthur our hero!"

"The hero who defeated the evil Baron!"

"The one who saved the town!"

"The man who brought us light!"

Everyone's voice was filled with sincerity. Moreover, some of them had tears in their eyes. They ran over and hung flower wreaths around Arthur's neck. Then, they kissed his cheeks and gave Arthur their most sincere blessings.

Before returning to the crowd, they gave Arthur a sincere hug. Furthermore, some of them even knelt and kissed Arthur's shoes. This unique etiquette represented their highest respect and their most sincere gratitude.

"This is our gift. We hope you can accept it." Many townspeople walked over. They raised the flower baskets in their hands. Inside it was cloth, food, money, and some other things.

These were the foundations of their survival; nothing was more precious to them than this. But now, they were willing to give them to Arthur.

Arthur, who had defeated the Baron, killed the town mayor and the security chief and brought them peace.

"Hero Arthur!"

"The hero who defeated the evil Baron!"

"The man who brought us light!"

"The one who saved Huska!"

"..." The waves of voices around them never stopped.

Many people couldn't get close because there were too many of them. Thus, they used their own ways to express their gratitude. Arthur waved his hand, indicating that he didn't need any gifts.

He pulled Verus over and said, "I'm already leaving Huska, you can ask everyone to return now."

"Arthur, are you really going to leave?" Hearing that Arthur was leaving, Verus's eyes turned red. He grabbed Arthur's hand and asked in disbelief.

The town chief, who was now the security chief, also walked over and said, "Arthur, this is your home. Everyone wants you to stay."

"You can stay here."

"Everyone in this town is your family."

"Everyone wants you to stay!"

"Yeah, Arthur, stay!"

Everyone urged Arthur to stay with them. Arthur was touched, but Huska wasn't the end of his path. He raised his sword and pointed at it, saying, "I've already received guidance from the gods for my next path."

"The place I need to go is in another direction."

After hearing Arthur mention the guidance of the gods, the group of people who wanted to persuade Arthur were amazed!

"Did the gods guide you back here?" Verus asked with his eyes wide open. Arthur nodded and didn't say anything. Instead, he only gently raised Lu Yu.

Seeing Arthur's actions, the townspeople were shocked. Could it be that the gods guided everything?

Otherwise, how could Arthur, who was just at energy level one a month ago, defeat Baron Spencer within such a short time?

Their expressions changed. Arthur wasn't the only one who saved them. The god watching them from the dark also saved them!

Their breathing became a little rushed. So this was the truth?

The town chief recalled everything that happened after Arthur returned. The sword in Arthur's hand seemed to have unfathomable power! It was obvious that Baron Spencer had the upper hand in the fight back then.

But in the end, Arthur's sword exploded with a strange energy. After that, Arthur's strength suddenly increased by levels. Even Baron Spencer couldn't withstand the sudden burst of power and was finally killed!

Now that he thought about it, wasn't that a miracle by the gods?

The sword held mighty power that only gods could possess! Was it the incarnation of god? Was it truly the one that guided Arthur?

Everyone's hearts were beating fast after realizing the truth behind everything. They were actually fortunate enough to witness such a miracle happen!

Afterward, Arthur waved his hand and left the town.

"Arthur, this town will always be your home! We'll always be your family!"

"You're free to come back anytime!" Verus's eyes were red as he shouted behind Arthur.

Arthur smiled and nodded at him. His back continued to walk into the distance until he finally turned into a small dot and disappeared at the end of the horizon.

Besides Verus, the people were also moved as they watched Arthur slowly leave. After Arthur left, they thoughtfully built two statues in the town.

One of the statues was a handsome young man holding a longsword. He was stepping on Baron Spencer and protecting everyone.

The other one was a sword with a special appearance.

There weren't many legends about this sword except that it was a powerful and merciful god. Rumors said that when humans were in trouble, this god had guided a hero to save the world.
