Chapter 41 - Chapter 10: Let The Training Begin!

Demons.

The humans pictured demons being the worst. It was used as insults. Demons. Demons were blamed for everything bad that happened to someone. Demons were the sole cause of anything bad. 'Angelic' was the exact opposite of 'demonic'. Demons were always the image of anything evil or dark. They were destruction. They manipulate humans into doing evil acts. Humans portrayed demons as evil, dark and destructive.

Hypocrites.

Most humans were hypocrites. They blamed the devil to save themselves while lying through their own teeth. They never told themselves that the reason they killed, raped, and stole was not that they wanted to but because the devil made them do it.

Now in this world, I have learned that demons are portrayed the same way. This was different because there was a literal war going on between them. The demons in this world were true demons. Rotten to the core.

Not that I could say that I am any better but these demons started a war out of pleasure. Killing millions upon billions upon trillions all across the cosmos and the infinite.

Kyrius stared at me with his glowing blood-red eyes. I could see the bloodlust in his eyes as he stared at me. The devil's eyes one might say.

"You're next." Kyrius said but I could tell it wasn't Kyrius. The voice. The voice was different. Anyone could tell that the voice was different. It sounded deeper and almost like a growl as he spoke. A voice that would make any normal person scared.

"He's…a…Class…9…" The old man struggled to say but I heard him.

A Class 9.

I couldn't win. I am only a Class 8 but I had to fight this man. Even if he was being controlled I led many armies to victory from a young age. Only twice have I lost in my entire existence so another loss wouldn't be so bad. Finally fighting like my life was on the line. A feeling I never felt.

Socrates did say I can attack them without using magic. If I used my physical strength as well then I couldn't defeat him. I would have to mix my magical abilities and my physical abilities to win this fight.

I changed my form to my Awakened Form and now I was much stronger.

"Let's fight then."

Kyrius lunged toward me and threw spikes of stone toward me. I dodged them and threw balls of fire at him and then I shot out beams of destruction. Kyrius got caught up in the attack and half his torso was missing. It was instantly regenerated. I didn't have this advantage and I probably would lose this but I had to fight.

Kyrius then stopped time. All I could do was watch because I couldn't fight it but I was able to see. Kyrius then walked towards me and stabbed me with a greatsword that was left behind by one of the adventurers.

This was the power difference of only one class. I had gone full out for the first time in so long and I lost. I also almost died but Kyrius kept the greatsword in me. I didn't give up though.

I summoned a black hole that sucked up most of the village but didn't do much damage to the planet or Kyrius.

I was still pinned on the ground with a greatsword in my stomach. Kyrius probably bound it to me by time which meant that I was never going to leave the ground.

"I leave you for less than a day and you're already getting killed."

"Socrates…" I said as an old man came into my peripheral.

My vision blurred but I could see Kyrius's body being destroyed by touching Socrates. I then went unconscious but before I did a smile appeared on my face.

* * * * * *

I woke up in the same hospital with more bandages this time. I found Socrates sitting on a chair on the side of my bed.

"You're finally up." Socrates said. "That was heroic yet stupid. You knew it was illogical but you did it for what? So you can use those people later? You truly are a twisted demon."

"Thank you." I said as I sat up on the bed.

The white sheets had no blood stains and the clothes changed. I was wearing a baggy pure white shirt and baggy white pants. There was a white bandage around my head and parts of my dark, black hair overlapping it.

"There's someone here to see you." Socrates said. "I killed that man and tended to the others. The old man is safe as well."

I smiled at the fact that they were safe but it was alien to me.

Am I feeling emotions?

I don't know if I was or not but there were certainly signs. Would this affect me positively or negatively? I didn't know. All I knew was that I was happy at the fact that the people I tried to save were safe.

"You may come in." Rena then came into the room. "I'll leave you to alone." Socrates said as he left the room.

"Are you okay?" Rena asked.

"I'm fine, what about you?"

"I'm fine. Who's that guy?"

"Oh him, he's my…he's my uncle." I said as I smiled sheepishly.

"He saved us so I should thank him but I don't have anything to thank him with."

That is true. What is something worth your life? Then again there are a lot of things. People risk their lives for all sorts of things so I guess those come at the cost of your life.

"You can marry my nephew."

Rena leaped back and turned to see Socrates behind her.

"WHAT?" Rena shouted. "I'm still young."

"Aren't you already considered an adult when you're fifteen?" Socrates said.

"But marriage? That's too far."

"At a cost of your life?"

"I still have a say in this as well." I said but it didn't seem I was being heard.

"Are you planning to not be married your whole life?"

Rena went bright red at Socrates's questions and statements. He had clearly won this but neither Rena or me had intentions of marriage. Socrates knew this but he had somehow won an argument he started as a joke.

"I'm joking." Socrates said but his facial expressions said otherwise.

"So are you going anywhere today?" Rena asked.

"Yeah, I need to train."

"You lost against a person who was four whole classes higher than you, it's not that big of a deal!"

"One class higher, I really am a Class 8 mage."

I felt Socrates's cold stare on me.

"Prove it." Rena demanded.

"How do I prove it?"

"The wall behind you is strong enough to withstand an attack from a Class 7 mage. Destroy that and I will assess you on that." Socrates said.

If this wall was in my world not even High Complex Akyros ranks could dent it. I've become so strong.

I placed my hands on the wall and instantly it broke down into dust. The whole wall was destroyed in a matter of seconds.

"When did you have other elements as well?"

"I already told you." I sighed. "I'm gonna have to go now."

"But you're injured."

"No." I said as I got up from the hospital bed and walked towards the door. Socrates followed me and we left together leaving Rena alone in my hospital room. "You gave me some power didn't you?"

"I've been found out. You were originally a Class 2 mage but I gave you some power but something happened."

"What happened?"

"Your body adapts to any power given to it and it strengthens it, in short, your body can adapt to any type of power from any world regardless if they are beyond you or lower. You're a rare case, Levantes, and believe it or not, there are people who are stronger than me who will try to find you. It's up to them whether to keep you alive or to keep you as a pawn to use later."

"Then train me for as long as you can."

"That is what I intend to do."

We walked to where we were originally supposed to meet; the garden in the park.

"Levantes, that man from earlier. He went from Class 6 to Class 9 in an instant. From my observations, he had demon blood inside of him. That demon blood isn't the same as yours. This demon blood is the same as the demons who rule the demons in this world."

"So you're saying…"

"Yes, if we had that demon blood injected into you then who knows what will happen? You may be able to even surpass me."

"Surpass you? That reminds me, what class are you in?"

"I won't tell you now but I will say that it is far beyond yours. Remember, an author can add whatever abilities to his character but it will be useless if he's still fiction."

"I haven't forgotten that."

Socrates then pushed in a stone that seemed out of place in one of the pillars.

"What-"

Before I could say anything, the floor beneath me gave way.

No going back now. Let the training…begin…
