"Are you sure you're gonna be okay?" Faye's mother asked as she walked into her room.
Faye was putting things into her suitcase rushing around the room. "Of course. It's a huge mansion. They're giving me a room, a car, food, and a very handsome salary. Why wouldn't I be okay?"
"You don't know anything about kids and you'll be living alone with this man."
Faye paused and sighed. "Mom… I won't be alone there. They have several servants living in the house and Mr. Liu is usually out on business. As for the kid, he's ten and very well mannered."
"So this Mr. Liu… have you met him?" She asked.
"Not really. I went for the interview but it was their maid or something who interviewed me but I got to meet the kid. His name is David, I think he's adopted though." She said as she closed the bag's lid and sat on it.
"Why?" Her mother asked.
"I don't know Hale Liu is very Korean looking and David well… he seems very… Caucasian." She said, trying to close the zipper of the bag.
"I thought you said you hadn't met Mr. Liu." Her mother said as she sat on the floor and closed the zipper for her.
"Mom… I googled him." Faye said as she showed her mother a picture on her phone.
"Hmm… he seems.. Very handsome." Her mother commented and Faye chuckled.
"I know right? Imagine one night I wake up to get water in the kitchen and find him and we get to talking and then one thing leads to another and…" She giggled like a little girl.
"Faye!"
Faye put her hands up in surrender as she got up before her mother could hit her. "It was a joke!"

The car softly stopped outside the mansion. One of the guards walked towards it and opened the back seat door. Faye in her little hesitant way got out of the car and thanked the guard as she stepped forward into the front door. She gently dragged her steps onto the marble floor as she was led towards a room by one of the maids.
"Mr. Liu will join you shortly." The maid said and Faye nodded as she sat on one of the comfortable chairs in the room.
It seemed like a personal study room. It was big but not too spacious. The four walls of the room were covered with shelves full of books. The room seemed to be a little messy. The books seemed very disordered. There was dust resting on them. It wasn't a completely abandoned room but it seemed whoever stayed in the room didn't allow others to come in often.
There was a soft knock on the door before it was opened. She turned her head in its direction and her eyes widened with awe as she saw him standing by the door. A soft smile covered his lips as he saw her.
His eyes lit up with some sort of emotion. Maybe it was happiness, fulfillment or even surprise. He was dressed casually in a white t-shirt and black trousers.
"You're here." Hale's voice was as deep and beautiful as she had remembered.
"I'm here." She said with a smile as she stood up and instantly regretted it as she winced in pain.
He quickly moved toward her and helped her sit down. "Your feet are still hurt." He said as he took out her bandaged feet from the comfy slippers she was wearing.
"They're healing." She replied and he sighed softly as he took off the bandage. He can sense an infection has started in between the wounds.
"They're not healing." He said as he touched one of the wounds and she again winced in pain.
Just then there was a knock on the door and one of the maids brought a moving tray into the room.
"Leave it there." He said and the maid obediently did so.
"Faye…" He sighed as he stood up. "I'm going to do something, just don't freak out." He said.
"Are you going lick them? Do you have a foot fetish? If that's the case I'd rather stay with my mother as a crazy woman than with a weirdo with a foot fetish." She said and he laughed softly as he looked at her.
"I still don't understand why it is you?" He said and she looked at him a little confused.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked and he smiled.
"Just trust me." He said as he walked towards the tray the maid had brought and picked out a small knife. He pierced his hand with the blade as blood started to flow down his wrist. He picked up a cup and let the blood drop into it. He closed his fist and pressured the blood out while Faye just kept her eyes on him observing him.
"Here drink this." He said as he held the cup towards her. She looked at him confused as she took the cup from him.
"Are you like a vampire or something? You know how they show in tv shows the vampire blood has instant healing powers." She said.
He chuckled as he took a napkin and cleaned his hand. "Vampires don't have blood. They're dead beings and this won't give you instant healing." He said as he sat down beside her.
"So… vampires are.... real?" She asked and he nodded. "And you're also a supernatural being?" She said and he nodded again. She held the cup in between both of her hands as she slowly swirled the blood in it. "I can't drink this it's disgusting to even think about doing it." She protested.
"I know but it will help clean out the infection quickly." He said.
"So what are you exactly?" She asked and he smiled.
"I'll tell you if you drink it."
She looked at him and then at the cup in her hand. "Okay… but I also want to know what's happening to me and why I feel the way I do." She said and he nodded as he agreed.
She closed her eyes and quickly gulped down the liquid. The metallic taste made her cringe a bit as she instantly felt nauseous. It took a moment but something kicked in her dopamine receptors as she felt some sort of pleasure and calm, dizziness started to envelop her vision.
Hale gently held her into his arms and laid down on the couch still holding her. He held her carefully in his arms caressing her hair as she rested her head on his chest.
"What's happening?" She asked.
"Werewolf blood. It does that to a human brain."
"You're a werewolf." She said almost in a whisper as she looked up at him. She caressed his face softly. "Your heartbeat is really fast." She said as she placed her ear against his chest.
"It's because I'm scared," Hale replied.
"Why?"
"Because you're my biggest strength and my biggest weakness."
"How come?" She asked syncing her breathing with his.
His hands softly wrapped around her as he held them like the most precious treasure. Firmly but scared to break it.
"Because we're mates." He said and she laughed loudly as she snaked her arms around him.
"Like buddies?" She asked.
"Like soulmates." He replied.
