Chapter 5 - 5- Consensual Kissing

Faye opened her hazel eyes into a dimly lit room. Her eyes met the beautifully decorated ceiling with carved wood. She sat up and looked around the unfamiliar setting, there were two ivory-colored chairs a few feet away arranged with their back towards the foot of the bed. To the wall on ger, the right was french glass doors that opened up into a small balcony. To her left was the door of the room.

She, in her dumb-found-ness, got off the bed and stepped barefoot right onto the cold floor. As an instinct, she quickly jumped back on the bed but soon realized her feet weren't hurting. She looked under them and where the huge cuts were supposed to be, the skin was already developing. She felt a bit shocked and confused but then again he did say his blood would quicken the healing process.

"You're finally up." She heard the familiar voice say as she looked up at him standing at the door and she smiled.

"Your blood is magic." She said and he chuckled softly scratching the back of his head.

"It seems so." He replied as he walked toward her and sat down on the floor in front of her. He took her right foot in one hand and examined it. "Your wounds are healing well." He said.

"You haven't properly introduced yourself." She said completely out of nowhere.

"What do you want to know?" He smiled as he looked up at her with his beautiful dark eyes. It was again something she sensed in them. The darkness wasn't in just the color of his eyes. It was something else… it was something dark like evil hiding underneath all that beauty.

"Faye?" He said gaining his attention.

"I don't know… for starters… your name?" She asked.

"You don't know my name?" He asked.

"I do… I just want you to formally introduce yourself." She said and he nodded.

"I'm Hale Xi Liu. I come from the royal bloodline of werewolves in Asia. My family has been residing in this part of the world for the past four generations and have also established a very good name in the textiles industry as the top supplier and exporter of sustainable fabrics in the country."

"Oh. So you're a rich werewolf." She said and he smiled with his beautiful perfect teeth displayed across his lips.

"You're taking that werewolf part very well." He said.

She shook her head, "I don't know how to react to it." She replied and he laughed.

"I get it. But I'm glad you're not freaking out and losing your mind about it." He said as he stood up and sat beside her on the bed. "So, I'd like an introduction from you too," Hale said.

"Okay… I'm Faye Arzoo Hill. There's not much about my family. My father died when I was a kid and my mother brought me up as a single mom… she's a nurse and I've been living off of her for last one year because I dropped out of college and went insane for this guy and now that he's sitting in front of him all I can think is how his lips would feel on mine."

He looked a little taken aback. Maybe a bit shy as he looked away from her. He let out a soft sigh.

"You're straightforward." He said as he smiled and looked down at his hands. "I've been thinking the same thing… but I can't do it."

"It'll be consensual." She said and he laughed.

"I would love nothing more.. Trust me… but we can't. Not right now."

"Aren't we like mates?" She asked

"We are not yet… we're destined mates and this urge you're feeling is also because of that….Faye, there are things that I want to tell you but I can't."

"Why?" She asked.

"I don't want to talk about it right now. Just try to humour me for now." He replied as he rubbed his hands together and kept his eyes focused on them.

"Okay…" She sounded a little disappointed.

They sat in silence for a few minutes as Faye decided to finally break it.

"So… David?" She asked.

"Yeah… I wanted to talk to you about that. I'm going to have you take care of David as his actual nanny, I don't want anyone to know that you're my mate. I have enemies and they're most definitely keeping an eye on me. This is the only way I can keep you closer to me."

"Fair enough." She replied as she awkwardly looked around the room. "He's your son?"

"Yeah. He's not my biological son. He's a human so just treat him normally." He said and she nodded. There was silence again in the room.

"It's getting late. I should go." He said as he stood up. "If you're not comfortable asking me, you can always go to my study room. It has everything you want to learn about werewolves and other supernatural beings."

"Okay." She replied and he nodded as he walked towards the door as he touched the door knob he paused and turned.

"I told you it's going to be difficult to be near me."

"I know. My feet are injured because you wanted me to know that." She snarked.

"Yeah." He said as he looked down with a bit of regret. He stood there for some time silently without any movement.

Faye sighed as she stood up and walked up to him. She reached out and held his face as she tipped on her toes and was finally able to close the distance between their lips. She gave him a soft peck.

"You have soft lips." She said letting go of his face.

Before she could take a step away from him. He reached out behind her waist and pulled her in, leaning down he locked his lips with hers in a soft sensual movement he picked her up in his arms. Kissing her gently, sucking on to her lips he turned and pushed her against the door as she wrapped her legs around his waist. The intensity between them increased as he pushed further in between her lips. Electricity formed between them, as their heartbeats intensified with every touch, every movement, and every sense. The closer they got the more they lost control of each other.

The pitch darkness in his eyes flickered for a second with icy blue and he suddenly pulled away from her. Still holding her in his arms, they both panted as he rested his forward against her. She reached out and touch his chest.

"What are you scared of?" She asked as her breathing was still irregular.

"Losing you." The pain was evident in his eyes as he watched her. He carefully let go of her and placed her on the floor. Her eyes were still on him as he walked past her and left the room.
