'I spy with my little eye, a Kurama to join my team,' Rowan tried humming a tune but the rhythm was slightly off. He slowly followed behind the fox without startling it. He was trying to recall how to make a summoning contract but his past memories had started blurring.
'Just make a cut on your hand and drop some blood on it's forehead,' Steve said his first few words for the day. Rowan nodded and was about to make his move when a huge brown bear came storming out of nowhere.
Rowan activated his sharingan and saw the same type of energy that was in the python flowing through the bear. The bear stood still before sniffing the air. It looked to the front and saw the fox with the carcass.
The fox released the carcass and went to stand between it and the carcass. It growled at the bear despite it being far bigger and stronger. Rowan wanted the fox even more but something was telling him to give up on this fox.
He felt the bear getting ready to attack so he rushed toward it with the body flicker technique. He appeared next to the bear and slashed at it's neck. A clang sound rang out as the sword met the skin of the bear.
Rowan could see a white mark where the sword connected with the skin so he kept slashing at the place till a bear paw came in his direction. He rolled out of the way and backed up. Blood ran down from the wound that went from a small scratch to a deep gash.
Rowan steadied the sword in front of him but then he saw a small figure jumping towards the neck of the bear. It bit into the gash and held on for dear life. The bear slapped towards the fox with it's paw but Rowan appeared and slashed at the paw.
The power in the bear's paw caused the short sword to snap in half and sent Rowan flying into a nearby tree. He looked on as the bear slapped the fox off of it. The fox slowly stood up, growled and then started barking weirdly at the bear.
The bear rushed at the fox and went to slap it again but Rowan appeared again. This time he grabbed the fox and got out of the bear's way. Rowan looked at the bear and felt his chakra levels getting low. He made a clone and held out his hand towards the clone.
It was finally time to test out his finisher. Rowan could feel his chakra gushing toward the centre of his palm. A small ball appeared. His clone kept the ball of chakra stable whilst at the same time causing it to keep rotating.
The bear felt threatened by this small ball and it could see the ball slowly becoming bigger. It immediately charged towards Rowan. Rowan on the other hand just kept on pouring chakra into the swirling ball.
When the bear finally reached Rowan and slapped towards him, he disappeared and reappeared at the place where the bear got wounded. He smashed the swirling ball into the bear whilst screaming at the top of his longs, "RASENGAANNNN!"
The bear got lift from the ground and spun anticlockwise before smashing through a myriad of trees. Rowan ran towards the bear since he used the last of his chakra to cast the body flicker technique that saved his life.
When Rowan found the bear, it was a bloody mess. His stomach churned but he swallowed back the vomit. Now he realised why they said Naruto didn't master the Rasengan at first. It causes way more damage as when Naruto started using it.
Rowan looked at the bloody mess again and saw what he wanted to see. A red crystal was shining on the ground. Thinking back to how strong the bear was and looking at the red crystal made him realise how strong the demon lords really were.
Rowan picked up the red crystal before heading to where he last saw the fox. He saw it dragging away the carcass again. This time he walked next to it instead. Maybe it was the life of death battle but the fox didn't seem hostile towards him at all.
Rowan helped out the fox by killing all the animals in the surrounding. Turns out that the bear was most likely the strongest animal in the woods or it came from far deeper. This made his job way easier and it didn't take long for the fox to reach it's destination.
It came to a rock and rolled it out of the way with it's head. Five little foxes appeared from a hole behind the rock. They ran towards the bigger fox before looking at the stranger standing at the side. The big fox gave a few small barks to the smaller foxes before looking at Rowan.
The small foxes went to the carcass and began eating except for one. The smallest of the five bit into the carcass, pulled a piece of meat from it and took it to Rowan. It placed the meat in front of Rowan before turning her head to bark at the big fox.
It turned it's head back to Rowan and barked once more. Rowan could see the twinkle in it's eyes and immediately bit his thumb. He kept his thumb above the fox's head and a small drop of blood landed on it's forehead. Rowan suddenly felt a deep connection with the fox.
'Give it a name,' Steve said and Rowan placed his hand on the small fox's head. "From now on you shall be known as Kurama." Rowan looked on as the fox had a last meal with it's family.

After reaching the city, Rowan went back to Angie's place where he introduced his new partner to the rest. They all ate meat and Rowan dosed off with a small Kurama in his arms.
