Rowan arrived on the other side of the portal gate and all he could make out was trees. There were lots and lots of trees. A noise came from behind him but before he could react, something bashed into him which sent him flying.
"Didn't I tell you to brace yourself," an annoyed voice was heard coming from the portal gate. Rowan got up and looked at what he could only identify as a knight in a full set of armour. The knight had a big sword on his back.
Rowan was just about to say something when he heard rustling noises coming from the surroundings. The knight grabbed his hand and they ran in the opposite direction from where the noise was coming from.
They got to a river and stopped for a while. Rowan felt his hand still in the knight's and tried removing it but the knight had an iron grip. Rowan tapped on the knight's shoulder to get his attention but he didn't get any reaction. Then it dawned on him that the armour must be pretty thick and sturdy.
"Can you let go of my hand please," Rowan said in a loud voice so that the knight could hear. The knight, noticing the hands that are intertwined, let's go of Rowan's hand and proceeded to take our a weird device with a small antenna attached to it.
After a while, the device spit out a piece of paper and the knight looked at the paper before muttering the number fifteen. Looking at the now puzzled Rowan, the knight couldn't help but feel the urge to give him some sort of explanation.
Dungeons always give off a sign when they are about to appear. The closest city must then prepare a band of well trained men to conquer the dungeon. Upon entering, they will use a scanning device to figure out the number of floors in the dungeon.
Dungeons can range from five floors to over fifty with a hundred being legendary dungeons which haven't been conquered yet. There are nine of them and they are pretty famous. Of course, the more floors, the harder it will be to conquer.
"Although fifteen floors isn't much in comparison to the famous ones, it doesn't make conquering it any easier," the knight said as he disassembled the device and took out a compass and heading north from where they were.
"If this dungeon is still as dangerous as you say it is, where is the rest of the well trained men that is suppose to actually conquer this dungeon," Rowan asked since even he didn't know if it was possible to beat the dungeon with his strength.
The knight, on the other hand, had no intention of answering Rowan's questions and neither could be since ten demon beasts burst out of the forest and rushed towards them. Rowan pulled out the Kusanagi Sword but the knight was slightly faster.
"Crescent Moon Slash," the knight muttered as he closed in on the demon beasts. He swung his sword in an arch shape which sent out a projectile that looked like a crescent moon. Rowan looked at the knight's movements with red eyes and a smile on his face.
Rowan grabbed the Kusanagi Sword and ran to the closest demon beast. The Crescent Moon Slash managed to take out most of the beasts but there were still three left. Rowan swung the Kusanagi Sword three consecutive times while flickering around ending the beasts lives.
The knight was impressed with Rowan's display of speed and precision and asked for his name. "Rowan Uchiha? I have never heard of such a surname before. I am Jayden and that's all I can actually say for myself without having to kill you." They shook hands and formed a team.
Together they walked In the direction the compass pointed after taking out the crystals. Jayden carried the crystals since he had a space bag. The space bag was five cubic metres and he could store pretty much anything that is not alive.
After killing quite a few beasts, Rowan and Jayden finally managed to find the stairs going to the next floor. After reaching the bottom of the stairs, another huge forest stood in front of them. After only taking one step towards the forest, a huge wave of demon beasts rushed out.
Rowan drew the Kusanagi Sword and Jayden drew his huge sword. "Half Moon Slash," Jayden murmured softly and made an arch with his sword before a half moon projectile came from the sword. This too was also captured by Rowan's red eyes.
Rowan began flickering between the beasts as Jayden kept sending out projectile after projectile from his sword. After flickering for about a minute, the beasts seized to attack and instead left with their tails between their legs.
Jayden started collecting the crystals which all glowed orange with a few red ones. They then moved into the forest in search of the stairs that will lead to the next floor. As they got closer to the stairs, the surroundings became darker.
"The sun's rays can penetrate the dungeons and cause us to see everything but at night it becomes really dark," Jayden explained again after seeing Rowan's puzzled face. Rowan gave a thumbs up and looked around for a place to sleep.
Jayden began clearing the trees and Rowan helped. After that, Jayden collected fire wood and Rowan made an attempt to build a small shack. They found a pool nearby for cleaning a bit. Jayden took out a big black pot and some oil.
Rowan made a small fire after ten minutes of gruesome struggling. Jayden told him to wash in the pool whilst he made some food. Rowan ran off and Jayden collapsed on the ground. He took off his helmet and his…or at least her head was sweating profoundly.
Her hair glistened in the light of the fire and after cooling down for a bit, she began cooking. She skilfully put the oil in, wait for it to become hot before slicing the onion in. Ingredients kept flowing from her space bag as the smell of food got tastier.
