Chunks of human meat were in pieces; the place was also painted red like rubies with a foul smell of rusty blood sticking on their skin, and a boy could be seen standing in the middle of the stage along with Akil, who looked like he had swum in the lake of blood.
Without any notice, Khalid had jumped onto the high balcony as if he had sprung on his feet, wearing the eye of a reaper, as he slashed the bayonet at the old man, who was wearing an elegant, luxurious fabric, covering his fingers with sparkling rings.
'This is easy.'
He thought.
Khalid was so sure that he slashed his throat; he felt the knife open the flesh of his skin; the old man's blood even splattered on his face, but he was not wrong about one thing.
The way his head came flying off out of nowhere while watching the old man's body collapse on the floor was just an illusion.
"We've been tricked!"
Akil had shouted.
The old man's laugh had eaten the place, while Akil was left gritting his teeth watching how he chopped off Khalid's body in pieces. First his head, then his arms, followed by his legs, but no matter how many times he cuts his body apart, it will still come back into pieces.
"HAHAHA! Don't take me as a fool!"
He affirmed as he used the gigantic scythe he was holding, as he turned Khalid into chunks of meat.
"You won't be able to kill me."
Khalid stated uninterested before he ripped his jaw with a scythe.
"Well, see about that!"
When his scythe emits a purple-ish light, all of the dead people inside the auction have risen, even though their skin was peeled off from the flesh of their bones. They miraculously start to align with each other before the dead gather to finish the two.
'A necromancer! '
They both thought but that did not surprise them at all. Instead, Khalid was left most shocked when he felt the scythe pierce his heart. As he continued to chop him off like a meatball.
Khalid's internal organs scattered all over the place, leaving his heart floating in midair before his muscles and flesh were intact with each other.
"Hyung!"
Even Akil noticed something was wrong when he saw how Khalid flinched before taking a step back and forming a distance between the two of them the moment his body regenerated swiftly like a wind.
"Does it hurt?"
He mocks as he smiles like a creep.
"You must be immortal, yes. I'll give you that, but I am death!"
He laughs.
"You will never escape from me! *KEKEKEKE* "How dare you interfere with my business! "
He exhales, closing his eyes, before giving the creepiest smile on his lips that surprisingly gave chills to his body.
The moment he felt it, he grinned.
"Well, that's what I'm looking for!"
He then charges at him, but it is not enough to match his speed.
Just as he continued to cut him into pieces, Khalid felt more pain. It was nothing normal for him, but it was so painful that he could not even stop himself from groaning but instead of begging for mercy, he did not. Instead, he smiled.
'So it was the work of that shitty scythe! '
"A goddamn illusion."
He mumbled before the old man left him to fight with the zombies, watching the show he had created himself.
Meanwhile, Akil's situation was no different, because no matter how much he killed, they all just kept coming back to life as long as the old man was still alive. It was an unending battle in which only the two of them would feel trapped and tired.
"Akil used your power!"
The phoenix screamed in his head, knocking inside his soul.
"Over my dead body!"
He affirmed, but the phoenix continued to rant, whispering continuously inside his mind.
"Use your power, Akil!"
"I won't! Even if it means I die!"
As he stubbornly stated it, the phoenix clicked his tongue.
"Are you still having a grudge against me over someone who's already died?!"
Hearing it come out of his mouth made Akil's blood boil. His face had gloomed before he replied.
"Someone?! Do you think they're just someone?!"
He paused for a minute before shouting it in his face.
"They are my family!"
Akil catches his breath as he uses the knife and his strength to defend himself from the dead, but it is not enough.
He could even feel the sweat stinging his eyes and the wish of his body about wanting to rest and give up when he heard the continuous rant of the phoenix.
"Oh yeah, but you are the one who's in control of that power!"
He exclaimed that had made some point because he knew from himself that he could at least hold back and control his power, but he didn't. Akil was eaten by surprise without thinking about the consequences of his action, which made him live in regret, yet he continued to deny it.
"HAHAHA-"
He laughed sarcastically.
"Bull shit! Then you shouldn't have possessed me in the first place!"
It made the phoenix let out a deep sigh for the second time.
"Stop acting like a kid; that's so pathetic!"
"Then how about you start fixing your fucking personality?!"
He gritted, clenching his jaw in anger.
"Stop acting like you care!"
"What if I am?"
Akil was left speechless by his reply; his eyes had widened and his thoughts had begun to puzzle.
"What?!"
But when he asked, he failed to get an answer.
"You might be able to survive, but you think he can? Let's say he was immortal, but once he was drained with mana, he would sleep for eternity. No one knew when he would wake up."
Akil's face was still covered in shock; his head was flooding with thousands of questions, while the phoenix took it as an opportunity to pursue him.
"He will probably get stuck in dreaming or having nightmares. It's up to you to repeat the same mistake or use my power."
That was the last thing he heard before he knew that the place was already in ruin.
