The auction house was in raze; there was ablaze of fire in every corner while Akil continued to burst out of anger.
His body was covered in steaming smoke as it sizzled before a gigantic blazing phoenix rattled as loud as the horn of a truck, almost making their ears bleed, turning the place into ruin.
Even Khalid himself saw how the phoenix, who was bigger than the auction house, flapped its crackling, fiery wings as it created a tornado out of the fire, turning everything into dust before it left Akil panting, kneeling on the floor as he entered back into his body.
"That was a great show."
Khalid stated before Akil turned into a maniac.
His eyes glisten like a sun setting in the sky as the orange stripe runs in his veins before he creates a pistol out of fire, killing everyone in his sight.
'Ha, he immediately learned the ropes from the best! '
He thought as he gazed back at the man who was now left on edge, holding his scythe with his trembling hands in silence.
"Don't worry, I won't kill you; that's when you answer my questions, right?"
He stated as the man chuckled.
"You will only get lies."
"BWAHAHAHAHAHA!"
The moment he let out a mocking laugh, Khalid's patience seemed to tick off like a bomb, as he didn't hesitate to throw the bayonet he was holding in a straight direction before grabbing the old man's face, chasing the knife he threw in front as he pierces it deep in his head as he turns into dust within his hands.
"I keep my word."
He affirmed as he devoured his ash without hesitation, and then suddenly, the moment it slowly entered his body, the memories he had flashed through his mind.
While his right eye changes color, he stares at the air and watches the memories of the old man with Lilibeth in them. His aura darkens along with the disappearance of the thousand skeletons.
The sky let out a roaring thunder even though there was still a scorching sun from above.
'This old man didn't deserve to die.'
He sighs as he puts his hand on his right eye.
"Mummie,"
He called, and the moment it happened, his shadow split into two as the wind blew a strong breeze, creating a mummy figure standing in front of him that was made out of dust.
"Why do you call?"
He asks coldly.
"Open the graveyard."
The moment he let those words come out of his mouth, Mummie left stiff, as if he were almost shocked.
"Don't kill the old man; instead, let him suffer in hell. Tear every part of his body; peel his skin if you want to; torture him slowly until he wishes to die."
Mummie sighed.
But before he finished speaking, Khalid continued.
"Don't let him die."
He affirmed as if there was a threat in his word, that even Akil could feel a chill on his spine.
It just made things unpredictable when all of the dead bodies inside the auction house and even the others who had turned into a scattered powder had all mummified and entered Khalid's body, but this time they did not enter his body looking like a fine particle of dust, but they were all in the human form that was made out of dust who's scratching the floor, trying to escape from Khalid, preventing themselves from entering his body.
"Ack! "
Khalid clenched his fist when he felt his head ached from pain before the place that was earlier painted red was now covered in darkness.
"That's-"
Akil was flabbergasted when he saw a gigantic door slowly open in front of them.
"Hell."
Khalid added as they watched the door invite them inside, where the auctioneer was there glaring at them before it charged towards them when suddenly all of the Verendus souls Khalid had eaten earlier had crawled out of his body and charged to the old man, scratching his flesh as deep as the knife and also poking his eyes before the door shut completely from their sight.
"What just happened?! "
Akil was left completely confused, especially when it was also the first time he had seen this unique yet powerful ability that Khalid had possessed.
"It was thanks to you."
He stated.
"I've eaten enough soul to have this power. It makes me create a place I could only enter."
He continued to walk slowly as he explained things to Akil thoroughly.
'It's not what it looks like, though.'
He thought.
"Then how did I enter?"
He asked confusedly.
"That's because I invited you."
He stooped and gazed back at Akil.
"You've grown a lot."
Khalid stated as he looked at him in the eyes.
"Not just that, you are also powerful enough to protect yourself."
Stating it made Akil stand there like a statue, looking at his hands with a petrifying expression as if they were covered in blood.
"Don't get me wrong, you've done a great job."
Khalid then all of a sudden embraced Akil with his little body, patting his back gently, which slowly gave him comfort.
"Thank you for saving me."
Akil blinks and looks at him when he gently knocks on his forehead three times.
"There is nothing to feel remorse about something dreadful; you didn't even mean to do it."
He added as he could see how he gripped his own hands tightly, preventing tears from shedding in his as he gave off a warm smile.
'Maybe it's time to let go.'
He thought when all of a sudden the ground shook hardly like an earthquake, creating loud noises under the ground before a beast that looked like a serpent, who's bigger than Titanoboa, appeared in front of them.
'No, not yet! '
Akil thought when he figured out that both of them were just drained of mana.
They could not fight the serpent nor run from it, but when he looks at Khalid, he is rather calm, not because he does not fear the death that's just in front of him, but because it feels like he knew it was coming.
"Master! I've found her! I have found the kid! "
Zev's voice consumed the silence before she interrupted the scene with the form of a serpent.
"Well done."
He praised her as she took the form of a moth and flew towards them when Akil, out of the blue, felt weak in his legs as his body suddenly lightened along with a blurry vision before he passed out the moment Zev had turned into a furry wolf.
"....A dog?"
He mumbled, which made Zev's snarl.
"Watch your mouth, Idiot!"
She rambled while Khalid glared at the phoenix.
"It's none of my doing!"
He affirmed when suddenly, for the second time, the place was shaken by a 6.3-magnitude earthquake that was different from earlier, as if something was coming towards them, but this time it smelled like death.
