"Mom...! Mom....!, I know you can't be sleeping right especially when am not yet home," Dodo enters the house calling on her Mom at 2am. From main entrance upto mother's bedroom she's just yelling, "Mom..!" "I can't remember when you last got drunk like this but according to my memory, it was not fun" mom says, " now that you're here, I want to know why you decided to waste yourself like this and where you left the car because am from seeing a cab dropping you off. You've not comeback with it." "Since my fiancée doesn't spare time for me, just like you mentioned in the afternoon that "Dodo please, you should allow Lala to live life beyond her limits, she's a grown up now" I totally understood you mom and am practicing how best I can live my life beyond limits. Exactly what you preached. So, nothing much to worry about anymore," she shamelessly tells her mother by quoting her words. "Look my daughter" guiltily mother says, " I never sent you to waste your life like this. Take a good look at yourself right now! You promised never to drink recklessly after what happened to our family back in your school days. You must stop over thinking." "I beg you to trust your mother, she adds, "there's nothing I cannot fulfil as long as it is a requirement for my daughter. "
"Neither did I fight nor ended up in police custody or even fall on the roadside" she says with a heavy tongue falling on her mother's bed dizzily, "from the club I went to Lala's house where I have been well taken care of." "I wanted to meet her boyfriend but I've missed him mom, he wasn't yet back home," she laughs and at the same time cries on heavy eyes sitting up. Do you know everything Lala told us about her fiancée is true!" Dodo tell her mother, "he made a phone call to wish her a goodnight when am sitting right there witnessing." Real tears start dripping from her eyes as she speaks, "I think am jeolous about my friend Lala." Mom lifts both her hands open, calling her daughter to come closer for comfort compassionately. Dodo falls into her mother's arms on the bed where both of them are sitting. "Am sorry my daughter" sadly mother says, " this is all my fault." Dodo continues to cry in her mother's arms.
Early morning after the sun comes out she stretches and opens her eyes to see, it's her mother's bedroom on her mother's bed. Mom is just sitting on the bed side looking at her daughter's face. Dodo becomes conscious from sleep noticing that her mom is watching. Mother smiles direct into her daughter's eyes.
"Thanks for the information last night," Don talks to officer Stone in his office at the warehouse. "It's nothing boss," officer Stone responds. "Did you punish the officers who harassed Lala?" He asks. "I suspended both of them before this meeting," he answers. "Sounds like am missing nothing right now and as you continue with your activities, I want you to watch over Lala 24/7" he assigns him a duty." Make sure she is safe because we are heading into tough times," he continuously says. "You can take this check for now. I pray your mother's condition gets better," Don forwards officer Stone a check. "Cancer is not a joke but doctors are giving her maximum attention" officer Stone says, "all thanks to you boss."
"About your advise the other time, I appreciate your concern towards me and my family. It was yesterday that everything I've built with Lala was about to fade away, if not for you to inform me of Dodo's visit. This is the kind of wave life has brought my way and as a man, I must swim through. Now that she is so obsessed with me meeting her family, I need your undivided attention on this duty. It's not yet time for drama to happen that's why am getting more careful. Make sure you feed me with any important information about the circle (Dodo, Lala, mother, father and Jack). "Your wish is my comand boss," officer Stone says obediently. Don concludes the meeting by telling officer Stone to take good care of his family.
"It's kind of hard to believe that Sir Don has changed in a very short time," officer Stone talks to his wife at night in their bedroom. "What do you mean changed?" the wife asks. "seems like he quit smoking and being ruthless since he's in love now," he says. I've never conducted a meeting with him and he doesn't have big cigarettes on the table, one in his mouth puffing smoke. "Do you mean Sir Don that I know or there is another one because the last time I checked, he never care about any woman on planet earth," the wife talks so doubtful. Exactly why am suprised, this time it's a different story" he says, "Our six year daughter's godfather met a girl who has drastically changed his way of life." "And today, for the first time he managed to hold a peaceful discussion, sounding so calm and on top of it all remembering the words I told him as an advice!" Wondering he speaks." "But he has a fiancée!" wife says, "not so?" "Its difficult to understand and I've come to accept that every thing said about love is real," he adds. "It is eight years of our marriage now, how comes you claim not to know facts about love? I've also started doubting every word you said to me on our wedding day," wife jokes in response. "Not really but seeing a fearless man everyone admires and respects reformed like this, it just proves more than I believe love is" smiling he says, "love rules the word."
It is a weekend in the amusement park and life is so sweet. Both the children and adults are enjoying with different kind of games and spectacles. Here we find our one and only Jack enjoying 3D games with other kids. On the other side is Mr Yang and Mrs Lala on a pivot having fun in extreme laughters. For quite a period of time in the fun factory, enjoying each other company, it is time to relax in the gardens and enjoy some corny ice-cream. "Ever since I met you, I've lived a free life" Mr Yang passionately says, " you're that one thing I need in my life forever." "I want to request you a favour" he asks, "can you please accept our wedding to be private?" Lala sits upright from his shoulder where she has been leaning all along and looks straight into his eyes looking inquisitive. It happens to be an obvious case that she needs elaboration of what he has just requested according to the looks from her eyes. "Sweetheart" he says, "a lot is required to be worked upon between me and my family. I don't want my family issues to ruin us." He continues saying, " I love you and am willing to give up everything even if it means loosing my family just to be with you." "How about my family? " Lala asks. "Do you trust me?" He asks in return. "You very well know that I do," she replies. "This is the family I cherish so much that I have never wished to do anything against" she sadly says, "it's very difficult for me to wed without them in the picture."
"Same applies to my family" he states, " but for the safety of our love, I have to do it." "Just know they will understand in the near future. Besides, this is our own life. It is us who are going to be in the marriage not them," Mr Yang says.
"You're my man, it is you to make the final decision, but you've given me a chance to decide. Can you give me sometime I think about it?" politely she asks with a smile.
"You can take all the time you want," he accepts, "am always I will take any decision you come up with. Lala goes back to lean on his shoulder while he slowly massages her fingers.
"This is my area of expertise after this win you're the one to do my homework for the whole week " Yelling Jack tells a colleague he is playing video games with so loud and clear, "you don't have any other options, am a hero....!" He shouts.
"Here comes officer our visitors and business partners," Mr James tells mother and daughter at the mansion roasting barbecue in the gardens. I didn't know we're having high profile visitors today," Dodo says in question, " aren't these the senators?" Since I can't go to the conferences out there, I had to host them from the house," mother states. If am not mistaken, "Don is supposed to be in this meeting because he is the chairman," Dodo tells her parents. We called him to be here, but it seems he is not interested, father responds, " he is two hours late and still is not here. "
The senate arrives at the mansion and most welcomed by every member around. Home servants are passing around with drinks and simple bites. Low volume music is sounding in the back ground. Everyone seems happy for the moment.
Mother is an executive with an upper hand in the mining industry which deals in gold and oil located in South Africa.
These were formally owned by Don's late father and the senate is composed of share holders in the gold and oil industry. Since Don was young by the time his father died, Dodo's mother remained with full ownership and responsibilities of the businesses and her signature is vital especially when she's still alive. She is entitled to pass on the full ownership and responsibilities to Don, that is after he has mastered all the required skills to run all the businesses. "Why is the C.E.O not here," one of the share holders asks on the beginning of the meeting. "It has been five years since I last appeared physically in the board meetings" she states, " executive Don has been the chairman." "I believe all of you know that he fits in my position after I approve and grant him all the powers" mother says, "so with or without him the meeting can go on as long as I am present." She continues to affirm that, " as we all know he is the only son to our leader and the founder of the sixth figure cult and with due respect I remain the second head chief until it comes the right time to transfer all the powers to executive Don." "Working hand in hand with my husband Mr James, we've managed to equip him with managerial skills in most of the side businesses which he handles successfully apparently," she adds. "For fourteen years me and my beloved husband have been the pillar of this business empire, elevating its performance to satisfaction worldwide" she says, "am therefore without fear or favor chairing in front of this panel as a full Chief Executive Director informing you that Don's responsibility as the Chief Executive Director of the companies are temporarily terminated for a period of time due to circumstances that will be passed sooner as you'll be informed." Mother announces all this in the presence of her biological daughter Dodo, who is left in wonder according to the looks on her face.
"Mom" Dodo tells her mother,"I need a better explanation on all that you've just said inside there because I don't second it at all." "Now I've come to know what you tried to threaten him with the other day he walked away on us," Dodo talks non supportive to what her mother has just said." "Mom you need to say something because this is driving me insane. And you think this is going to bring any positive impact on our relationship!" She says, "you've gone too far mom." Dodo speaks all these words as she still pushes her mother away, after leaving the ears of the audience. Mother has no time to exchange words with her daughter according to the attitude her daughter is portraying so she remains quiet.
After sometime, Mr James enters his wife's bedroom to meet her. Mother is so much relaxed in the mirror trying to paint her face to look beautiful for a good sleep. "Are you worried," Mr James asks. "A little, " his wife answers smiling. "He failed to show up after all the communication and he decided to neglect our phone calls," his wife adds. "Maybe he thought he was going to feel embarrassed infront of the share holders," Mr James gives it a thought. "You know very well that if he turned up, I was going to say a different thing just like we discussed" mom sadly says, "but since he decided not to cooperate, I was left with no choice." "It's alright" Mr James comforts his wife, "Let's see what time has prepared for us." "That boy is very stubborn since his childhood," Mom states shaking her head. "Let me just help you into the bed," he shows concern after asking by lifting her up out of the wheelchair into his hands like a baby and he lays her perfectly under the bed sheets. Mr James gives his wife a goodnight peck on the forehead and he switches off the lights. "Goodnight darling," he says and he walks out of the room closing the door behind him.
At the boutique, Dodo is with her best sister friend Lala trying to fit in wedding gowns one after the other. Dodo tells Lala how she is extremely excited to be getting married to the man of her life. "I've been waiting for this moment for a long time" she says, "my prayers are answered." "Am truly happy for you sister," Lala smiles in response. "Am happy that you're not crying any more," she adds. "I still can't believe the magic, waking up on my phone ring and on looking at the screen, is my fiancée Don calling after how long with out calling my line, I can't tell" she narrates, "my heart running so fast in panic, I slide a yes button and his voice in my ear says good morning honey, I want you to get ready for the wedding." "It was really a breathe taking moment" excited Dodo says, "I jumped out of my bed like spider man, don't know how i reached into my mother's bedroom but the news was so hot to maintain in my mouth that I had to spit it out. It was very hard for me to believe either. After telling mom you know what she said? "hold on my daughter, can you please forward my phone to me." Which I inquisitively did. Mom really looked doubtful which was scaring me on the other hand. It was obvious that she doesn't believe what I had told her is true. She called my fiancée for a confirmation not even expecting he was going to pick her calls because he has not been answering to all of us and you know what he said to her in loud speakers? "We are getting married mom and I will be coming to discuss more with the family." Mom's phone almost slipped out of her hands and her mouth remained open for a couple of seconds. She couldn't believe her ears too." "Sister Dodo" Lala mentions, "trust me you're a blessed person and that will never change." Having heard such beautiful words from her best friend Lala, Dodo looks at her so passionately whereby she can't wait to jump into her chest and share a warm friendly hug which she madly does. "I love you so much Lala," Dodo says. "My knowledge ends here now I will go with the one you choose," Dodo tells Lala on the matter concerning the wedding gowns. "Both gowns are very attractive to the eye. Fact is I love both of them too, don't you think we should involve mom for a better choice!" Lala speaks an idea. Hopefully yes let's see what mom has to choose," Dodo buys the idea.
"I can't believe it worked" mom tells her husband on phone, "but am worried though I don't know if I did the right thing." "It has surprised me as well that turned up to accept marriage with no clear explanation," Mr James speaks. "But you did what you had to do and the results are what we are experiencing now " he adds, "what you should know is am standing with you on any decision you make no matter what." "Do you still remember what I told you last night" he asks on a reminding note, "that let's see what time has prepared for us? No need for you to worry about anything just stick with it." Let's wait for what he has to tell us during wedding preparations.
