Prisca released Audrey to have dinner and freshen up before she went to sleep. Lucas on the other hand got to the mansion's gate at the same time as Martin.
He chuckled because he knew exactly why Martin was late, he had dumped all his workload on him so he could spend time with Audrey.
He got to the entrance of the building, alighting his car for one of the bodyguards to take it to the car park. Martin also came out of the car, tired and grumpy as he wanted to spend time with his bathtub and a nice dinner prepared by his mother.
However, his plans changed when Lucas dumped his workload on him. "You still mad?", Lucas asked as they walked towards the mansion. As usual, the air around them seemed and was powerful as they walked towards the mansion, side by side.
Their powerful strides had become a norm to them, their shoulders swung back, head held high as they approached the mansion. "No, I'm not!", Martin said . "Fine then…any ideas to what Emily wants from us in general!?", Lucas asked Martin.
"Well whatever it is, let's hope it doesn't affect any of us!", Martin said as they walked into the mansion, headed straight for the dining table, hearing loud voices before they even got there.
Everything slowed in Emily's eyes as she watched Lucas enter the dining, greeting his mother and grandmother soon after. " Hi!", Emily said, raising her palms to form a waving gesture to Lucas who replied with a strained smile.
"How have you been?!", Lucas asked still standing as he had no plans whatsoever to have dinner with Emily present. " Do you know that Emily is here to stay, after how many long years?!", Nalia said.
"Yay, she's finally here to stay!", Amber said after her mother, she was a fellow female and she knew exactly why Emily was back home. She was rich and successful with the path she chose, why did she suddenly come back to Eustopia?.
She had her eyes on her brother, and she wasn't going to allow Emily to ruin the beautiful thing that existed between her brother and Audrey.
" ookay then!", Lucas said going around the table, Emily's smile grew even bigger when she thought that Lucas wanted to sit beside her. Her mood turned sour however when he said, "good night, I won't be having dinner today, I had something to eat with Audrey!".
Lucas purposely said dinner with Audrey, saying it so that she might have some dignity and leave him alone. It wasn't just Amber who noticed the look she was giving him, the man felt really creeped out to say the least.
Another reason why he left the dining room was because he really had to call Audrey. Lucas smiled when he got to his wing in the mansion, he looked exactly like a love sick teenager while he dialed Audrey's number, he hadn't even gotten to his room before calling her.
Audrey who was just about to fall asleep opened her eyes instantly after she heard the special ringtone she set for Lucas's phone calls. " Hello!", Audrey said picking up immediately after the first ring,"hey!", Lucas said feeling giddy that she hadn't slept yet.
"Im home!", Lucas continued as he headed towards his room, " ohhh, okay then!", "did you enjoy the date!", " yeah, i did, especially the flowers and….!", Audrey smiled as she went on and on about how beautiful the details were, till she finally realised she had spoken more than she needed to.
"Ohh, I'm sorry, I'm saying too much, aren't I?", Audrey asked scratching the nonexistent itch on her hair, " no, no, its fine, I love hearing you talk!", a long paus ensued before Audrey dakd "okay!".
" you should talk more around me!", "I'll try!", " its a deal then!", "don't stay up too late!", Lucas continued.
" I should be the one telling you that!", Audrey paused before she continued, "try not to overwork yourself too much!", she said, Lucas's heart skipping a beat. " Your wish is my command!", Lucas said removing his blazer, he continued, "go to sleep now, alright?", " yeah, I'll do just that!", "ohh and beautiful!", he called, the tint on Audrey's cheeks spreading all over her face.
" Yes!", she answered, "ill pick you tomorrow morning!", Lucas said. " Alright then, goodnight!", Audrey said, "good night beautiful!", Lucas replied before Audrey cut the call.
Emily went back to the hotel were she and Tessa lodged happy that even if she didn't have dinner with him, she got to see him, and boy was he hot or something!. She was even more hellbent on getting him now, and she was willing to do anything to make sure she had Lucas. 'Just you wait!', she thought as her scheming began.
The next morning and the mornings after, Lucas became Audrey's billionaire chauffeur. He would take her to work in the morning and set up dates most times so they could spend the together after work.
It was an indescribable feeling where they felt complete just being in the other's company. To Audrey, the beautiful relationship she shared with Lucas was what she saw as the 'first and the last relationship!', she just couldn't comprehend that instant connection
To Lucas, it was way more than he had ever thought it could be, not only did he feel complete, he felt satisfied with the beautiful relationship he shared with Audrey. He loved her, every single thing about her, her flaws, everything.
Two weeks had passed, Audrey and Lucas becoming even closer than when they started dating, Audrey was now comfortable in his presence, but she was too shy to initiate kisses and Lucas never forced her.
She and Prisca had gone house hunting and it seemed like they had gotten the perfect apartment. A one room apartment as it was just Audrey living there. Of course, there was a bathroom and a kitchen, plus Audrey could even make an office space out of one of the corners of the living room.
" I'll come for dinners when I have time!", Audrey said consoling Prisca who had turned to a cry baby when the situation sinked in as they were packing.
