Chapter 12 - Lost the key to Enemy

"World's a better place when you have nothing to worry about, you are carefree and compassionate - and that one does not judge you about the things or people nearby."

The race of money that George had picked up, lost even before it was about to be real. George had partnered with Mr Zephyr, and all the earnings that George had received from his clients were passed on to Mr Zephyr company's. George's clients received their daily income for one month through Mr Zephyr's company which used George's clients' deposited money. Mr Zephyr stopped making payments to George's company. George never kept a single penny with himself. George wanted to help people and never misused their trust or took people for granted. George's clientele list had grown to more than 800+customers having a variety of investment portfolios that was worth more than 70M RON. George had fallen for the quick-rich scheme again, this time money was not going to come for good- even if he searched in hell for it. Before this, it took Daisy more than a week to convince George to not go further with Talus's proposal for 306 M RON. Somehow Daisy was able to save George from Talus's tricky proposal of converting his corrupted black money into white money using George's clientele list, who were innocent. Daisy happened to read between the lines, as she was present during his meeting in Sighisoara.

Unfortunately, Daisy did not even have the slightest clue about this deal with Mr Zephyr and did not inform to anyone in the family about it. George felt he was the only right person in the room, and never consulted his lawyers or accountants. George trusted everybody with his money except his family, he could give a bag full of money to his newly met friend cum business partner Martin, or the neighbours. Likewise, Marcus had also warned George not to give away all his money to his newly met Business Partner Mr Zephyr, but George was on cloud nine – why would he listen to his son or daughter and after he stopped receiving money, he had become tense all over again like he was 2 years ago when he lost his job. George never thought about the consequences of the decisions he made -not even a step further -apart from the goal of making money. At first, George was discussing over phone calls to get the money back, when he felt the situation was out of control, he thought to track down Mr Zephyr and his team.

He went to Timișoara with Rebecca's father Denise to get back his clients' lost money. 2 months went by and yet George was not able to do anything. Mr Zephyr hardly visited his office; his team had vacated the area. The charge of living in hotels was getting expensive with no money coming in, it became difficult. George felt like hiding inside his blanket and drinking all day as he had broken the trust of his clients, even if he had no intentions to do so. One lucky day, Mr Zephyr showed up and came with papers for signing in his hand. This paper consisted of the agreement, stating that I am paying you back the money in bitcoins and all your pending money is paid. Exhilarated by joy, George immediately signed the paper without even reading the document he came up with. However, when George tried to convert the bitcoins into cash or withdraw them to his bank account, only to find out that those bitcoins given by Mr Zephyr were fraud & not real. He betrayed George cleverly by making him sign the document. George was worst than ever. He did not even show up to his clients who were banging on his house door, back in Pitești and asking for their lost money, nor did he show his courtesy to help his family in tough times. All of this happened in the next two months after returning from Sighisoara.

Unaware of what was happening back at home in Pitești, Daisy had just returned from Slatina figuring her next moves, until she was shaken by the number of people who kept coming repeatedly home to ask for their money. People did not stop coming even at night, it was Danielle, Daisy and Marcus who was alone at home, later Rebecca joined only to leave again. The atmosphere at home had become tense, as there was no one to support. George had already given up, on never showing up at home, even if a lot was happening at home & people were threatening them for money. Despite this, Daisy gathered up her courage and decided to visit Bucharest to meet, the coach of the competitive exam centre and her mentor. The coach recommended that coaching fees would take up 55,000 RON, and if Daisy worked dedicatedly for it, she would surely end up in a reputed B-School University which would again cost her a fortune. Later she went to Romanian Innovation Council, where she wanted to meet Mr Horatiu – who knew that Daisy was a unique and unusual talent and that she was made for something great. He knew, she always came from Pitești, because she wanted to learn something new. This time, she came to meet him, to see his new office, greet him for becoming the CEO and later asking, for a job.

Daisy thought, she could work while she was preparing for her exams. Mr Horatiu had helped earlier in reaching out for George's job when he had lost it. It was against Mr Horatiu's willingness, as he could not pay equal to or more than what Daisy had asked for. Daisy went back home and started contemplating what was the right decision that she could make that was better for the family. As for George's deal with Daisy, she had done her part by borrowing the loan from the Bank, but George had failed in his attempt to provide the freedom that Daisy sought. Her freedom was more lost than ere. She started thinking if there was no money coming in, how could they possibly survive? Daisy decided to be hard rock and abandoned her ideas for higher studies, further started seeking a job on online portals. Started posting for the available vacancies to get a job. On the other hand, Marcus was studying at university and now it was Daisy's responsibility to pay his university fees. Meanwhile, at this time around, Marcus's university exams were going on for the semester end, again he had trouble concentrating on it. Marcus was repeatedly being tested by mother nature during his time of exams when things at home were turning utterly bizarre. No one told Daisy, what she had to do and how she could do it, she just took on the responsibility to keep Marcus and Danielle safe and sound.

Somehow, Danielle managed to plead with the people who turned up at home by saying that "I am not the one, who took your money, neither did my son or daughter, you have given money to George, go find him and talk to him - not me." However, people were pinheaded and did not leave until they were going to receive the money they had deposited. It became difficult for Danielle to deal with a lot of these people who wouldn't take no for an answer. She did not deserve this, as she was busy making food for female employees who only laughed or giggled at George's funny dance moves, and tricked him to get money from him. Neither was his team honest with him, nor his business partners. But the people who suffered the most were Daisy, Marcus, and Danielle - who George misbehaved with them and leave them alone at Bay. Unknowing of what was going to happen next, once Marcus' exams were over - Danielle had decided it was time, for them to leave the house before something worse would happen. She was intuitive, and she could sense a bad omen that was nearing at a very fast rate.

Marcus was not convinced by this idea, he felt leaving the clients alone with no answers, would only help them to confirm that they had truly deceived people. Marcus believed, that running away was not the answer. It took a lot of convincing for Daisy and Danielle to finally let Marcus decide if he was coming along or not. Marcus could not stay alone and decided to go along with them. It was the day when Danielle and her kids were going to board the bus for Deva, Danielle's Hometown. She was never welcomed by George's family in Alba and did not mind even calling them. George's family always blamed Danielle for being evil and for manipulating their financial dealing between George and his brother while purchasing the current house they were about to leave (which wasn't true)*. However, Danielle thought, it would be a long time until they could return, she collected the Ducati bike's keys and the car and took the neighbour to tell them to care of it while they were gone. The very neighbour who was also part of George's team informed one of the important clients that Danielle and her kids were leaving Pitești tonight.

The client came along with 3- 4 other healthy - heightened men and demanded money. They threatened Danielle, either to give them the money or else they would call the police. The client was a very good friend of Danielle's, and today he was against her, calling the police. It was not imaginable. Danielle called Daisy, and the client told, "Daisy, I know you have the money with you, and you recently deposited it to your bank account to keep it safe. Give me the cheque I deserve, or else I will call the police and get your mother jailed. Daisy was frightened and thought how could he even do that to her mother, she was not ready to lose her mother. She immediately wrote the cheque to the client, and they also took away, the car, Marcus's favourite Ducati Bike -the one which was recently bought with help of Uncle Paul, and the Italian Dining Table. Danielle and Daisy could not see their possessions being taken away in return for the money that they did not owe them in the first place.

"Trust" – "people, you thought were too close to you, used their lethal innocence as their key weapons to attack behind you and win their battles for money unfairly." Trust, where the Pegasus's sketch on Daisy's wall was left unpainted…forever in the hands of the enemy, who was just waiting for his moment to destroy all that he sought, even their happiness was now a distant dream…"Would the dream of achieving true happiness, ever come true?" Daisy wondered in hatred ness...
