The Police were accompanied by Daisy's cousin sister, Rebecca- who informed them of Danielle's house address. George was jailed, as no one was available to advocate for his case, and the investigation had moved further. George was handling two companies at that time, one that George owned, and the other company named Epsilon was owned by Danielle. It was only official on paper, that she had handed security cheques to clients, but she was never a part of decision-making for the company like George did. Danielle was completely innocent; she was being accused of something that she wasn't even aware of. Grandfather had already informed Daisy and Marcus to stay out of it, even before they arrived. The police were also asking for Marcus, as they had heard that he was also involved in this Mafia Gambling. Grandfather immediately lied to protect his grandchildren and said, "no, they aren't here, they just left yesterday to stay at their Uncle Paul's house". Meanwhile, Daisy and Marcus were peeping sleekly through the gap between the door trying to figure out, what was happening there with Police.
They were three of them, out of which one lady police officer, approached Danielle and handcuffed her. Danielle did not resist it, but she had to go out of respect for the law. Danielle left without saying Goodbye to her kids. Once, they left, Daisy and Marcus came out, asking Aunt Bettina – "What just happened? What were they talking about?" Aunt Bettina explained, "they have taken your mother under their custody to investigate further, to understand how much your mother owes to the people." Danielle did not take her phone along with her, as she thought Police would take that too under custody, and lose money again if it went to custody. Daisy could not keep track of what was happening with Danielle, as she was trying to be in touch with Rebecca. However, Rebecca did not respond well enough. That night Daisy did not sleep all night, she was really upset with what had happened that day. Late at night, Razvan called Daisy to understand how she was feeling.
Razvan, one of George's clients was updating Danielle now and then about the information relating to what was happening with George's back in the Court of Appeal, Bucharest. Now that Razvan knew that Danielle was not there anymore, he wanted to comfort Daisy and boost her morale to get up on her feet & start moving on with life by facing the hard truth. Razvan had visited Pitești several times at her home, but Daisy never saw him or got an opportunity to interact with him until today. Razvan further added, "once you come to Bucharest for any of your job searches let me know, I can help you get in touch with some of the industrial people around here." Daisy had heard a lot about Razvan from other people, she was excited to meet him if ever got a chance to do so because she wanted to see for herself, what was the buzz all about - that people were afraid of him. Razvan was the head of his gangster in a town near Bucharest, who had already had 14 murders in their account and were still roaming safely escaping the law – because he had the power and money to do whatever he wanted. Daisy did not know anything about Razvan, except for believing that he was someone who could help her to get her prisoned mother and father bailed out very soon.
It had been more than two days, that Rebecca and Daniella were still under custody. Later, on the fourth day, it was declared that both will be jailed for the same punishable criminal offence that was done by George. Rebecca and Danielle were both officially silent partners or owners on paper, but they were never really the ones who operated the Business, it was none other than George himself. Daisy was more pressurized than ever, to find a good job that could help her create a heaven for Danielle when she returned.
Grandfather, asked Daisy, "are you still finding the job, did you apply or get selected anywhere? My daughter, get a good job once and next year I will get you married with my blessings 😊. Look your mother and father are both in jail, and it's time that you should get a place for the job, how long will you stay here?" Daisy replied with her eyebrows raised in anger, "I don't want to get married until I turn 35, and as far as the job is concerned, I will find one – I will visit Bucharest myself and get what I can do from there. Maybe it's worthless staying here and finding nothing through online means. And you know what, as much as you don't like us staying here, neither am I interested in staying here. It is my condition that I must stay, unfortunately, regardless of whether You and I - like it or not". Daisy went to read a book, to calm her nerves, she did not let her grandfather speak anymore, she just cut off for a while.
Suddenly, George was allotted a video call to meet and greet his family online. This time, it was just Daisy and Marcus who informed George that, Danielle was taken to Jail today along with Rebecca. Daisy added further, that Danielle must be prisoned in the same jail, just next to your building I suppose. George was not happy listening to this, but George kept insisting, "Daisy do something about it, go talk to Uncle Paul and ask him to find a lawyer, but get both of us out of the jail, if you do not do it, we both will be prisoned for next 15 years, what will you do without us, my child??" Daisy had to do something about this legal matter, as it was not something usual that came up every day in a normal person's life. Now Daisy was burdened to fight with two things, all alone, even if Marcus was 20 – he never took the responsibility to do anything about it, then just sit back and watch what was happening around him.
One sunny day while Daisy was reading her book about Nelson Mandela that was talking about hope; suddenly Mr Felix (Daisy met him at the Toastmaster's Club of Pitești, the one who also invited Daisy to an Italian author's review at Bookworm Club) called Daisy, as he had heard that she had left her job recently. Mr Felix asked her, "Daisy, where are you, why did you leave the job?" Daisy replied, " I left the job because, I wanted to pursue higher studies, but as luck would have it, I am thinking to find a job first that I am interested in and once I get settled with the job, I would like to pursue higher studies in International Business Management."
"That's very good Daisy, I am very happy to hear the news, Congratulations!" replied Mr Felix. Daisy could not believe what she heard, and asked him again, "What did you say? I couldn't hear it." Mr Felix replied, "I said Congratulations, that you left your job to pursue your dreams, dear - it takes a lot of effort and courage to do – not many people can do it – keep it up, so what's the next thing you are going to do?" Daisy said to him, "Really, Mr Felix, I am very glad that you are happy with my decision, as you are the first and only person who told me so, otherwise, everyone in the family is telling me to get rejoin it or get an equivalent paying job. However, coming back to your question, I am thinking to make a move to Bucharest, where I will work, and if it works good enough for me – I will study further too!"
"That is wonderful, come visit me, I would like you to meet, one of the most energetic people I have ever known, you can work there at his company in Bucharest – are you interested?? ....then I can talk to him and arrange a call with you?" Daisy was happy to see a miracle happen before her eyes, she never expected that she would get a job, but because the industrial connections she had back from the university, could do her a wonder today. Daisy immediately replied, "Yes, I am interested to meet him, you can talk further. Currently for you to know that I am at my Grandparents' place for a while enjoying my break, I am not in Pitești - once the appointment is confirmed, I will meet you" Daisy later ended the call and immediately told her grandfather the good news, that she just had a call with one of her connections and he might be able to arrange a job at one of his connections at Bucharest.
Grandfather and grandmother, both were happy to hear the news. On this note, Aunt Bettina baked waffles for all of them to cheer up the mood and lighten the tense atmosphere. Somehow being a mother on her own with her two kids, she could understand the pain of Daisy and Marcus – for their parents not being around and prisoned. Daisy had conquered the first step toward embarking on a journey to find a job. For now, and it was only a matter of time, that would let Daisy spread her wings and fly across her land of freedom, where she would not have to do what other people told her to do. Daisy was imagining that staying at her Grandparents' place, felt like a prison to her even if she wasn't living in one – After all that's what prison does, take away your precious freedom!
