Chapter 1 - 1

Elix Floto had been transferred to a world of vintage role-playing games. He was a little rusty in his abilities, but he was determined to do his best. After a few minutes of play, he found himself in the middle of a battle. The other players were much more experienced than he was, and he was quickly dispatched.

Elix was not deterred. He repainted and tried again. And again. And one more time. He died dozens of times but kept coming back. He learned from his mistakes and slowly started to improve.

The other players in the game world noticed Elix's dedication and started to help him. They gave you tips and advice on how to play the game better. Elix was soon regarded as one of the best players in the game.

Elix's hard work had paid off. He had gone from being a complete rookie to becoming one of the best players in the game. He also gained a new character who could move around freely in the game, allowing him to attack any player that came into play. When Elix was able to take control of an entire area, he took advantage of it. His strategy was to create space where he wanted the other players to be trapped. Then he would take over their position and send them scattering like leaves in a wind. It wasn't just one person that ended up running away, though; there were many different types of people that Elix captured. The other players eventually became discouraged, seeing how good Elix was at taking them out one by one. Eventually, they stopped trying to make moves against Elix. But there were still plenty of players who would try to mess with Elix in order to get back at him for destroying their lives. One of these guys was named Shing, and he often tried to find opportunities to mess with Elix.

"What are we going to do?" Shing asked during a rare moment of peace between the two.

Elix looked over at Shing and frowned. "We can't stay here forever. I'm just going to keep killing everyone."

Shing laughed. "That's great! You're doing so well!"

Elix continued his assault on the town below him. "I'll make sure everyone else thinks the same."

"Hey, wait a second," Shing interrupted. "What if we did this together? Wouldn't that be fun? We'd have a lot more freedom and no one would ever bother us while we were at each other's throats."

Elix thought about it for a moment. He didn't want to give up his solo kills in order to save Shing's life. "You're right, we should combine our efforts."

Shing smiled. "Great! Let's go! Follow me!"

And together, the duo ran through the village, knocking over every house in their path. Everyone in town, NPCs and players alike, scattered, running as fast as their legs could carry them. No one wanted to meet the wrath of Shing, or anything that came before him.

When Elix reached the edge of town, he realized something was missing. As far as he could tell, all of his friends had been eliminated. He felt a bit disappointed but didn't let it stop him from continuing to fight.

After finishing off a group of NPCs, Elix turned around and saw that Shing hadn't followed him yet. He frowned and waited. It wasn't long before Shing appeared behind him, panting heavily. Elix smirked. "Didn' even try to run away, huh?"

Shing glared at Elix, then took a deep breath and nodded. "Yeah, sorry."

"It's okay." Elix shook his head and sighed. He knew Shing was only acting this way because Elix saved his life earlier, but it was still annoying.
