Chapter 2 - 2

"Come on, follow me."

Shing nodded and started following Elix towards the forest. After several minutes of walking, Elix realized that the only thing keeping them going was exhaustion. "Are you tired, Shing?"

Shing shook his head, refusing to speak. He wasn't willing to admit defeat. Even though Elix had beaten his last opponent, it didn't mean the end. There were still hundreds more ahead of them.

Its skin shined bright green, and its muscles rippled underneath it. Despite its intimidating appearance, it didn't seem threatening at all, which made the whole situation seem less scary. "Is that what I think it is?" Elix asked Shing, pointing to the monster.

Shing shrugged. "It looks like some kind of wolf to me..."

"Oh..." Shing said quietly. Elix was right of course. If the monsters were still living nearby, someone would've come across them sooner or later. "Well... I guess it won't hurt to kill it?"

"No. It won't." Elix shook his head. "Come on." With a grunt, he leaped towards the beast, slashing it with his sword. The creature roared loudly. Blood sprayed from its wounds, staining the ground crimson.

"Elix?" Shing called from above him. "How are we supposed to finish it off?"

Elix ignored him and continued attacking the monster
