The night passed and Emilia was woken up by an oversized kobold chewing on her right-front paw.
Emilia almost instinctly threw Dawn away, but she remembered that if she did wave her arm, even with the slightest bit of force she might just fling Dawn to the other side of the world..
A sigh escapes Emilia's mouth, Emilia guessed Dawn was having some dreams related to food as she didnt see her eat anything at all yesterday.
Emilia gently took off her paw from Dawn mouth and slowly walked out of the bright place they stayed for the night, the sun was no where to be seen yet and it was incredibl dark. The sky was filled with stars and the giant moon that was way bigger than the one on earth was brightning the dark, though Emilia didnt need it as her eyes did all the work for her, she could see everything as if it was day.
Emilia sat down 6 meters away from the place Dawn set up to sleep and closed her eyes, Emilia wanted to organize everything that happened until now, she had been ignoring everything until now as the first few days her mind was clouded with a storm of negative thoughts of how many ways she could die in the wilderness.
"So, im a dragon now, wich probably is good.. Of the many characters i could of become, this one probably isnt the worst. All people that i used to know and probably all that time i spent on school are now meaningless.."
"Agh! If i knew this would've happened i would have spent all the money i was saving! How many cheese puffs i could have bought with that much!"
"Haha.. Yes cheese puffs.. Now it kind of reminds me, i didnt really have any roots in my previous world.. Well, i had friends that i have not seen in years and i never really liked company so i lived off alone. The less people in the apartment, less money spent right?"
"..I think the only things i might miss are my nice neightbours, a good drawing tablet and the unhealthy food that i had."
"I feel like those weird light novels MCs talking alone. Should i do an evil monologue just for the fun of it?"
"..Nah, it isnt like there is anyone knowing what i am doing right now, right?"
"But i really cant just wander around aswell, what if i find some super strong monster? I am no warrior that is for sure, all i have is brute force and fancy powers."
"Hell, i dont even know how to get stronger! Do i just try to sit cross legged and breath in a rythm to gather fancy magic and become stronger or do i do like martial artists that do some sort of training that cause small fractures on their bone to strenghen the skin around it?"
"Ugh, this is so frustrating! Why didnt i get a cheat instead of being turned into a stupidly overpowered race! Just do quests and boom, you magically learn a skill!"
"But sadly, no such thing exist in this world, right?"

Some time passes, Emilia gaze was fixed on the stars.
"..Most people would want to go back to the modern world, but i feel oddly.. Satisfied? No, my body feels right in a way, as if i was always meant to be like this? I dont know why i feel like this but i know i dont wanna go back. Not that i didnt have a fulfilling life, but i felt out of place in the world.."
"Or rather, i never really understood other people.."
"I never really understood why people stay together as i always hated to talk with other people, it always felt frustating no matter what topic it was. I never understood why do people put so much effort into loving someone else, it is just your brain telling you to breed after all and i never understood why there was conflict between people be it because of religion or opinions, in the end we are all of the same species, so why fight?"
"It always felt as if i was out of place.. But here i feel that i belong? It's a weird feeling."
"Oh well, atleast i can understand myself very well.."
Emilia stood silent for a few more minutes to think what she is going to do after they arrive at the Dragonfolks place.
"I will most likely stick together with Dawn, she is extremely nice and could teach more about the world. Oh, i should also set some goals so that i dont get bored!"
"First goal, a classic one to say the least, becoming the strongest dragoness! And like any fantasy novel female protagonist, lets hope i magically find an impecable dragon that catches my attention along the road of becoming the strongest and i fall in love on first sight."
"Oh wait that is impossible, im asexual."
Emilia giggled to herself.
"Hopefully when we do arrive where the Dragonfolks stay i can learn something more about Mana."
"I cant wait to yell out spells like 'Lightning Bolt' and instead of using an lightning bolt, i cast out an earth spear!"
"But before that, i must find a way to grow stronger.."
With that, Emilia stoped talking and started thinking of a way to start.
"Mortals have Aura and dragons have Mana, simple stuff. The first step should be being able to sense it, so let's start with that!"
Emilia closed her eyes and started to focus, dragons special perk is Mana, wich like Aura should be everywhere. But all Emilia could feel was the could breeze of the wind.
Time quickly passed, and the sun was slowly rising, Emilia was very dedicated to her attempt to feel mana and over the past couple of hours, she finally could feel it.. No, she could do more than just feel it, she could see and control Mana and could do more. A dragons body is entirely made out to work with mana, diffrent from mortals that only a few of them can use Aura.
Emilia could see grey particles in the air, some were thicker than others. After she could finally see mana, she noticed something interesting, once she looked at her paw it was glowing green, but soon enought she noticed that wasn't only her paw that was glowing green, all her body was glowing green. But there was more happening, Emilia was exhaling yellow particles and when she looked down at her chest, she could also see a small green fire that burning out of her chest, presumably coming out of her heart. The fire itself wasn't hurting Emilia, instead it gave Emilia a cooling feeling.
The green particles were coming out of her body nonstop and moving uncontrolably like a flowing river, the yellow particles seemed to be formed everytime she breathed, as the oxygen was burned by the fire in her heart and turned into ashes that were the yellow particles.
The yellow particles also worked turning the grey particles into green ones and taking them back to Emilia. Though the effect was nearly unoticeable, her green particles that were all around in her body seemed to be slowing their movement and calming down, as if they were stabilizing. Each time that the yellow particles returned, less green particles came out of her body.
Emilia body also seemed to have a limit to how much green particles she could hold, but everytime that treshold was surpassed, the green particles that were a little bit less brighter than the others were thrown to the fire in her heart as fuel and it slowly burned brighter each time, the ashes burned from the green particles were also moved to the center of her body, it was slowly building up some sorts of pillar.
Everything seems to be in some sort of balance.
Sadly Emilia couldnt continue her training as not far away, there was a fight happening. Someone that looked like a werewolf wearing leather clothes was fighting a giant humanoid tree.
Though it was happening nearly 80 meters away, Emilia's sensitive ear drums picked it up, she was not ready for the sudden noise and ended up messing with the flow of her mana, wich made her cought up blood.
Dragon's eardrums are extremely sensitive when they are asleep or when they are not paying much attention to their surroundigns so that they can wake up and or react in time if something sneaks by.

Emilia constant coughing also woke up Dawn. She rolled around the grass for a bit before remembering where she was, she leisurely stretched and walked over to Emilia wich seemed to have caught up a cold from what she could see.
But upon seeing Emilia coughing up blood, her eyes widened and she hurriedly took out a small bottle with red liquid inside. The thing that worried her wasnt that Emilia was coughing blood, but that the blood was yellow in color.

"Ugh, my throat-"
Emilia had just stopped coughing, started coughing again by the sudden liquid sliding down her throat.

"Are you okay chronos?"
Dawn had an worried expression, Emilia took a deep breath and finally noticed that her blood was yellow.
"I guess? I feel fine besides a sore throat."
"..Are you sure? I got some high-quality healing potions in here."
"No im fine."
Dawn sighed in relief, enhancing her vision with Aura she saw a werewolf wearing leather armor fighting an tree humanoid.
"Oh, lets go help him! Our next destination is the wolf tribe, we can get some supplies from them!"
