Ever since the day she fell asleep in the office, Hannah had been walking on her toes around Axel and Camden. Though Axel didn't say anything concerning her falling asleep while she was working, she knew he was angry because he had tripled her work.
After waking up that night, or better yet, the next day as she had woken up in the wee hours of the morning, Hannah noticed that she was the only one in the entire building.
She didn't regret falling asleep one bit. When she woke up, she felt revitalised except for the slight pain in her neck and the load of work she had to take home.
Today, like any other day, she was in front of the computer, trying as fast as possible to complete her work so that she doesn't leave anything to take home, which was of course impossible as Axel will always find some work for her.
She saw Dave waving at her from a distance and she could only sigh. The last time she had seen him was about three weeks back and since then, he had not been to her cubicle which made her happy and sad at the same time.
She was happy because he was not around to irk her with his annoying smile and sad because there was no one to assist her with her work.
When Dave reached her cubicle, with a smile still dancing on his face, he greeted her.
"Hello!"
"Hi, Dave". She greeted back only for him to raise his hand to his mouth like he was trying to prevent himself from screaming.
"This is the first time you have said my name", He paused. "That is why I am trying so hard not to scream. I managed to stop myself from screaming but I'm sure I would be dancing if I was not in a working area".
Hannah almost rolled her eyes. Was that the reason he acted so childish? Even Penelope wouldn't act like that.
When Dave noticed that she had spaced out, he snapped his fingers twice in front of her. "I see that you have a lot to do," he paused to look at Hannah who had now given her full attention to him. He smiled.
"I will help you for some time before I get back to my work".
Meanwhile, inside the office…..
"No grandfather! I will not go anywhere, I still have a lot of work to do here at the company. You can handle your work yourself". Axel said through the phone.
"You have to do this. It will be great for the company too". His grandfather said, trying to persuade his stubborn grandson. "He has been my friend for a long time and he once had a share in the company".
"Since you have both been friends for a long time, you should go to him or he should come to you". Axel said, "I still have a lot to do. I don't know why I'm being dragged into this". He muttered the last part under his breath. He was clearly against his grandfather's request. He didn't want to go anywhere!
"Please dear grandson. Just this once. I would have gone if I were in the city but I'm not that's why I want you to go in my place. Please don't refuse". Axel's grandfather kept pleading through the phone and he could only agree.
"Fine! I will go but this is the last one okay? I won't be doing anything else!" Axel declared.
"Yes, I understand. Thank you so much". Axel's grandfather said and after some time, he added, "Don't forget to be polite". Axel heard his grandfather and he flared up.
"I'm always polite! You don't have to remind…. Hello, hello" Axel brought the phone down from his ear only to see that his grandfather had hung up.
"He hung up?!" He asked himself in disbelief. He dropped the phone on his desk and sighed loudly.
"What did he want?" Camden asked from behind. He had been in the office waiting for the grandfather and grandson duo to stop bickering over the phone.
"He wants me to meet with a friend of his who just arrived in the city". Axel answered in a low voice. It was evident on his face how much he disliked the idea of meeting with his grandfather's friend.
"Then what is the problem. You can go and see whoever it is your grandfather wants you to meet". Camden said.
"I can't leave, I still have a lot to do". Axel grumbled.
"Then what are you waiting for?" Camden questioned. "You can go now, if everything goes well you will be back before twilight and you can continue working afterwards". He reasoned.
"You are right. Get ready so we can leave now". Axel said and stood up from his seat.
"I won't be going with you". Camden stated. "We can't leave the company at the same time. One of us has to be here. What if something goes wrong?"
"You're right". Axel nodded in agreement. He say back on his seat and opened his laptop to continue his work.
"What are you doing?" Camden asked.
"Well if you are not coming along, then I am going nowhere, I can't leave without you". Axel stated.
"Why is that?" Camden asked again. "You know I can't come along. I have to look after the company in your absence".
"Exactly!" Axel said. "You have to come with me but since you can't, then I won't go anywhere".
"Oh God". Camden placed his palm over his eyes. "You can take Hannah along. She is very good at what she does". Camden said and Axel stopped typing to look at him.
"What?" He asked in disbelief. "How can I take her along? Why if she tries to kill me on the way". Axel asked absentmindedly.
"What are you saying, why will she try to kill you". Camden asked with wide eyes.
"Never mind. It's nothing. I will go with her". Axel said in defeat. He was yet to tell Camden who Hannah truly was and he didn't want Camden to grow suspicious.
"Alright then, I will tell her to get ready. With that Camden left the office.
