The first thing Camden noticed when he stepped out of the office was the extra person behind Hannah's desk. He didn't know who that person was but he knew the person was going to get her into trouble if Axel finds him helping Hannah with her work.
Hannah raised her head and saw Camden narrowing his eyes at her. She didn't need anyone to tell her that she had gotten into trouble. She stood up from her seat and Dave, who was standing behind her, straightened up.
Camden walked towards them with slow steps, his eyes still narrowed at them. When he finally reached them, he stood there for a while not saying anything, only moving his eyes back and forth between the two of them.
"Good morning miss Hannah". He finally spoke, but Hannah was too nervous to reply.
When Hannah didn't speak, Camden smiled. She knew what she did was wrong, and that was why she was so nervous.
"I will pretend that this never happened and that I didn't see any of this. And for your sake, I hope this never happens again". Camden said and Hannah nodded.
"And you," he turned to face Dave, "it seems like you are still new here, else you would know not to come to the CEO's floor except you have something to discuss with him". Camden paused for his words to sink into Dave's head.
"From the look of things, you have nothing to do here, so you had better leave before the CEO comes out". Camden said, pointing to Axel's door.
Dave turned to leave but not after telling Hannah that he would see her later.
When Dave disappeared behind the walls and from their line of sight, Camden turned to look at Hannah but she quickly averted her eyes.
"I hope this doesn't happen again, Miss Hannah". Camden said gently. He wouldn't blame her if she took help from someone to complete her work. Her work was too much for her and it would take an expert to finish that in a day. But if Axel finds out, it wouldn't be good for her or the employee that just left.
Hannah nodded. She was relieved that it was Camden who came out of the office and not Axel else she would be done for.
"Anyway," Camden drawled, "you will be going out today with the boss for a business meeting and he wants you to be ready in a few minutes.
Hannah tilted her head to the side. Why would he want her to go with him? He could have taken Camden along. She doesn't even know what the meeting was about. What if she makes a mistake?
Just then, Axel came out of the office, interrupting her thoughts. He looked at Camden for a second before looking at her.
"Are you ready?" He asked her.
"Umm… yes I am. I'm ready". She stuttered, unsure of what she would say. She hadn't even packed her bag yet.
"Okay, let's leave". Axel ordered and walked away, leaving Hannah behind. Hannah quickly picked up her handbag and phone before going after him.
When they got to the parking lot, she didn't see any driver waiting for them so she assumed Axel was driving since she knew nothing about it.
And she was right!
Axel sat in the driver's seat and she sat beside him in the passenger's seat. He eyed her for a second before turning on the engine and driving off.
They arrived at a restaurant, fancy one with high-class people. When they walked in, the first thing that caught Hannah's attention was the interior design. It was very simple with a touch of elegance and the slow and almost inaudible tune playing in the background added to the beauty of e restaurant.
Apart from the soft tune playing in the background, the restaurant was very quiet. So quiet that the little air that flew past her ear felt very loud. Though there were people inside, they were all quiet, like they had been set to mute.
Axel started walking and she followed after him. Though she had been in several restaurants, this was her first time in a restaurant like this one, so the feel of this place was new to her.
When they reached a table, Axel sat down and when Hannah pulled the second chair for herself, he looked at her with a raised eyebrow. Hannah didn't need anyone to tell her what that look meant so she quietly pushed the chair back in its place and sat at another table.
When they were seated, two waiters approached each of their tables to take their orders. Axel only ordered a bottle of wine but Hannah waved the waiter off.
The waiter came back with Axel's order and placed it on his table before bowing and leaving. Minutes later, Axel opened the bottle and poured the contents into his glass. When the glass was half filled, he stopped and placed the bottle back on the table.
The whole time, Hannah was watching him. From when he covered the bottle to when he started taking small sips from his glass. Now she wished she had ordered something. Maybe a bottle of wine like Axel had.
Luckily for her, the waiter came back to ask if she was ready to place an order. She didn't hesitate and ordered the same bottle of wine that Axel had.
When the waiter came back, he uncorked the bottle and poured a small quantity inside her glass before placing the bottle back on her table and taking his leave.
Hannah took a sip from her glass and she cringed at the harsh taste of the wine. 'How did axel manage to drink this?' She asked herself.
At that thought, she turned in Axel's direction and saw him already looking at her with an indifferent expression on his face.
He must have known that the wine had an unpleasant taste, that was why he was looking at her like that. She swallowed hard, trying to get rid of the bitter taste in her mouth but as she continued swallowing, she noticed that the bitter taste in her mouth was turning sweet.
She swallowed again, clicking her tongue continuously like a child but it was still that sweet taste in her mouth.
She turned to look at Axel with a surprised expression on her but he only exhaled and shook his head before returning to his phone.
