When Axel woke up, it was already late in the morning. He tried stretching like he usually does when he wakes up but the arms wrapped around him wouldn't let him.
He looked at Hannah who was still sleeping. Her hair had fallen on her face, making it impossible to see her face. Slowly and gently, he pushed her hair away from her face and tucked it behind her ear.
Now, he could see her face clearly. She breathed slowly, making her chest rise and fall in a steady rhythm. Her long lashes rested on her face and her lips were parted slightly.
Looking at her sleeping face, he remembered what happened last night when the lights went out. He wondered why she was so scared of the dark. It was normal for some people to be scared of the dark but he felt that more than the dark, she was scared of something else.
Her sleeping face looked so innocent and harmless. The anger he had seen yesterday had disappeared. He couldn't help but wonder if she was the same person who had killed those assassins last night.
Hannah's eyes fluttered open and she shifted uncomfortably when she noticed that someone's arms were around her. It couldn't be Raymond because he knew not to come too close to her.
Slowly, she raised her head which was resting on the person's chest and her eyes were greeted by the handsome face of Axel who was staring back at her.
As she was so close to him, she could see his face clearly. She noticed that the way he looked now was different from the cold face he carries around all day in the company. He looked relaxed and for a second, she thought she saw worry flash through his eyes but she waved it off as just her imagination.
"How do you feel?" The question snapped her out of her thoughts and she blinked twice trying to understand the question. How does she feel? She felt okay.
"I'm fine". Her voice came out shaky which made Axel wonder if she was truly alright. He lifted one of his hands and placed a palm on her forehead to check if she was having a fever but her temperature was normal.
"Are you sure?" He was just asking to make sure she was alright because after seeing her like that last night, he thought she would fall sick or something.
Hannah, whose eyes widened slightly as Axel's palm was still on her forehead, felt something was not right. Axel was always cold to her so why was he being this caring? He was even checking if she had a fever.
"Hannah?" Axel snapped his finger at Hannah. She was taking too long to answer him. "Are you sure you are okay?" She nodded and he removed his palm from her forehead.
"Let's get ready so we can leave''. He unwrapped his arms around her and waited for her to do the same but she didn't. Instead, she kept on staring at him.
"Hannah?" He snapped his fingers in front of her and she jolted before answering.
"Huh?" He looked at her and looked down and when she followed his line of sight, she saw her arms wrapped around Axel. She frowned for a second as she stared down at her hands that were around Axel. The next second, as if realizing what she had done, she quickly unwrapped her arms around axel like her hand had met with fire and stood up abruptly, walking away to one of the rooms.
Axel, who was still in shock after Hannah stood up abruptly, watched her back as she walked into the room and then he shrugged and also stood up from the floor.
Sometime later, Hannah came out of the room, dressed in a white knee-length dress that she had found in the room amongst other female clothes.
Her clothes were covered in dried blood and she didn't have anything to wear. When she opened the closet, there was, surprisingly, a lot of female clothing in it and after weighing the pros and cons, she decided to take one of them.
She looked through all of them and finally settled for the white dress. The white dress was the only simple clothing among the others which were either too short or looked too expensive. She was sure that the owner of those clothes wouldn't even realize that the white dress was gone.
Axel, who had just come out from his room, was wearing one of Camden's clothes. He was bigger than Camden in size so the clothes were a little too tight for him but he could manage till he got back home.
Pulling the hem of the shirt one last time, he continued walking but stopped when he saw Hannah who was standing near the wall, wearing a white dress.
He had seen her wearing different colors of clothes to work but they were either black or dull colors and seeing her in white hit differently. It was as though the white dress she was wearing changed everything about her.
Looking at her from where he stood, there was no trace of the assassin who slaughtered the other assassins the night before. Honestly, if he didn't know she was an assassin and saw her kill those assassins last night, he wouldn't believe that she could hurt a fly. The white dress made her look so innocent and harmless.
Hannah, who had noticed Axel staring at her for a while now, was getting uncomfortable. Was it because of the dress she was wearing?
"Umm… my clothes had blood on them so I wore this instead. I found it In the closet". She thought he was going to scold her but he only nodded.
"It's alright. Let's leave". He started walking out of the house and Hannah followed behind him to his car and in a minute, they were back on the road.
