"Red Falcons?" Raymond asked in disbelief. "It couldn't be them. We annihilated them years ago so how?"
The assassin began laughing when Raymond stopped talking. It started with a small chuckle and soon, the sound of his laughter was echoing throughout the room.
"You thought you annihilated us". The assassin said, making emphasis on 'Thought'. "We went into hiding till we were strong enough to come back at you".
Raymond smiled at the assassin's words. "Come back at us?" He tsked. "You should have just stayed in hiding". The sinister smile on his face broadened as he said those words making the assassin gulp audibly.
"Do tell me," Raymond started. "Why are you after Hannah? She wasn't the only one who caused the annihilation of your gang. Why haven't you attacked me or the other members?"
The assassin had a grave expression on his face when Raymond mentioned Hannah's name. True, she wasn't the only one who caused the annihilation of his gang but it was all her fault.
"She killed our leader". The assassin blurted out. "It wasn't enough that she killed our leader, she went ahead and killed more than a hundred of our members".
Raymond raised his head and looked at Hannah in shock. He didn't know that she had killed the leader of the Red Falcons gang!
Killing the leader of an assassin gang was synonymous with writing a death warrant and it was left to the leaders of other gangs but Hannah had gone ahead and killed the leader of the Red Falcons gang and he knew nothing about it.
He looked at the assassin who was glaring daggers at Hannah. The hatred he had for Hannah was evident in his bloodshot eyes. He had waited for so long to kill her and when he saw her in the forest that night, he had made up his mind to kill her but she got lucky.
"He is not one of them". Hannah suddenly spoke, her low voice tearing through the silence of the room. Both Raymond and Lucas looked at Hannah as though confused about what she was saying. Even the assassin was shocked.
Hannah walked back to stand behind Raymond as she didn't have any business with the assassin. True, the guy had tried to attack her but it wasn't the Red Falcons that she fought with that night.
She had felt it since she entered the room. This assassin wasn't one of them. The ones that attacked her that night were stronger and they had this terrifying aura around them. Besides that, she had personally checked the bodies of those assassins and they had no marks on their bodies so it couldn't be the Red Falcons.
"What are you saying, Hannah?" Raymond asked. "Lucas had personally caught this man that night which means he was also one of them". He pointed out but Hannah shook her head.
"Those assassins were different. He is not one of them". She sounded so sure of it and Raymond knew that Hannah wasn't just saying things. He turned to the assassin and asked,
"Which other gang was in the forest that night?" Though he had a neutral expression on the outside, his heart was in turmoil. The only thing he could think of was that the Red Falcons had joined hands with a stronger gang to attack Hannah and if that was the case, it would mean problems for Hannah and his entire gang.
Deep in his heart, he knew the answer to the question he asked the assassin but he silently prayed that it was not what he was thinking, but then again, they were talking about Hannah and when it comes to Hannah, anything is expected.
The assassin's lips rose in an evil smirk. "I thought we were the only enemies she had, but it turns out that she has many people after her".
"That did not answer my question". Raymond thundered. He was getting angered and irked by the smile of the assassin in front of him.
"I will tell you since I'm going to die anyway". The assassin spoke like he was doing them a favor. "When we got there, there was another gang with her but she killed all of them and when we wanted to attack, this guy showed up". He said through gritted teeth as he glared at Lucas.
"Whether I die today or not, I will be happy knowing that there are people out there who hate as much as we do". The assassin's smile widened as he licked his bloodied lips.
"She got lucky that night, but luck won't always be on her side. If I don't kill her, someone else would do it and that's fine by me. I'm happy knowing that she will die soon… Arghh.." The assassin screamed again as Raymond stabbed his thigh again.
Raymond stood up and pulled Hannah to a corner of the room. "Do you know what this means Hannah?" Raymond asked. His voice was low as he was visibly worried about what the assassin said. "There were two gangs after you that night".
Hannah only shrugged. "Is it surprising?" She asked. "It's not the first time. We will do to them what we have done to the others".
Hannah's relaxed tone did not surprise Raymond. She didn't even look worried in the slightest. There have been several gangs after her since she was a girl. She had so many enemies that she has lost count of them, so an attack from two gangs at the same time wouldn't faze her.
Taking one last look at the assassin, she turned to Raymond and spoke, "I will be waiting outside". She gave Raymond a curt nod and walked out of the room.
