We entered Uncle Jacob's and my Uncle called us over. The rest of my family already sitting around the house. "Sloan Jackson, Regius Martin meet the Sterling's. This is my wife's brother Oliver Sterling and his mate and wife Gemma Sterling." My Uncle said as the men sniffed the air and they stepped opposite ways. I glanced up and my Uncle introduced me next. "This is Paisley Sterling their daughter." They where both tall and big men. Sloan stepped foward and sniffed. "So your sister tried to hurt you." I nodded and he shook his head. "I'm sorry." I looked up to see emotions swirling in his eyes. I didn't know what to say, but I took the hand he held out to shake.
A roar broke over the house and a new energy filled the house. It was strong like Uncle Jacob's. The Alpha I thought as my nose filled with the scent of pine. "She's here." He snarled and I looked to Uncle Jacob who had a worried face. The man they called Regius stepped foward and walked to my sisters room and pulled her towards the Alpha. She started yelling and Sloan took my arm and walked me up too. "Not her." Grumbled a deep voice, that sent shivers down my spine. My sister looked at me and I met her eyes. She was trying to turn and catch another glance as Regius pushed her back up the stairs.
I remembered my Uncle's warning and looked to the ground. Sloan led me gently to the kitchen island. "Look at me small wolf." I was nervous, but did as he instructed. The man was huge and covered in tattoos. I followed his lage arms to his chest and then to his face. It was bearded and he had gaged ears, and I finally looked at his piercing blue eyes. They flashes silver and he looked relieved, and then nervous. "I'm Alpha Derek Argentine and you are my mate." My body tensed, and I dropped my eyes, and my mind started to fill with everything I haven't done yet. "Leave us." He said to Sloan and Regius who stood by the door.
"What are you thinking about?" He said as my mind whirled. "I'm thinking I wasn't exactly ready for this. That I have school to finish and I was picking out colleges for next semester." He placed a hand on the counter face up. "Look at me when you speak. Tell me about you." I slowly lifted my gaze. His eyes where like the clearest ocean. His hand still laid on the counter palm up. "Let's go walk." He moved around the counter and let out a small laugh as he watched me slide from the stool. My legs not long enough to reach the floor.
I took his hand as he held it out and he led me out the back door. Electrical pulses ran up my arm. I took a deep breath and smelt pine. It was coming from him. I turned to see if I could catch a glimpse of my family. "We will come back little one." My brows furrowed and he placed his thumb between my eyebrows. "You are worried." I nodded and he kneeled down. "I am not going to hurt you. I just want to talk, get to know you before making my decision."
Alpha Derek stood still not letting go of my hand. We walked a bit before he asked a few questions. "What is your name? How old are you? How much school do you have left?" My mind started to move fast again and I took a deep breath. The tingles started again. "My name is Paisley Rae Sterling. I'm sixteen." He roared and dropped my hand. "Sixteen?" He shook his head and stopped walking. He stood quite and I wasn't sure what to do so I stood there quietly.
After a few minutes I finished my thoughts. "I graduate high school in less then a few months and my college courses end in May. I was planning to go to school to be a vetinarian, which is about eight years of school. I'm sure I could double up and maybe do it in five or six." He turned and his eyes blazed silver. "So six years? You want to leave me for six years!" I shook my head. "No I can do most of it online, and I can choose a college pretty much anywhere." He groweled and I stepped back. "I already told you I wouldn't hurt you." Alpha Derek snarled.
I nodded and looked down. "Stop being afraid." I shook my head and looked him in the eye. "I am not afraid, just trying to not upset you more." He stepped towards me and towered over me. "To calm me you need to touch me." I reached out and touched his forearm. He stepped in closer and his body hit mine. My head came up to his mid chest. Sparks flowed through me and he wrapped his arms around my back. "Better little one." I huffed and he chuckled. "Don't like my nickname for you?" I shook my head. "Okay Paisley Rae Sterling. What do you like to be called?" I looked up and wrapped my arms around his waist. "Paisley or Paise is fine." He nodded and pulled some hair out of my face.
"I will stay here until you graduate high school if your Uncle and parents allow it. Then will you come with me to Alaska? You can go to school online." He said as he played with the orange feather in my hair. "Okay and do I get to see my family?" He nodded. "They can come with us or come visit, and we can come visit if all is well within our pack." He leaned down and sniffed my hair. "You smell really good." I smiled and looked up at him. "You smell good too. Earthy and like fresh pine needles." I inhaled and he chuckled.
"I have one more question for you love and it won't be an easy one." I nodded and he held on a little tighter. "Why did your sister try and harm you?" I huffed and took his hands. "It would be easier to show you." I looked at him to give me permission. He glanced st our hands and he nodded. I thought back to when we where little and how it changed over the years. Our argument the other night, the way she acted and her tantrums, and finally to the scene that played oit last night. When I was done I dropped my hands away from him.
He started to shake and anger rolled off him and I ran to hug him. "To late Paisley, go back to your Uncle's I'm shifting." I didn't run and just backed up to watch him shift into a huge grey wolf. Way bigger then Uncle Jacob. I swallowed and he came up by me. He snarled and I threw my hands around his neck. "I didn't mean to upset you Alpha Derek Argentine." I pulled back and ran my fingers up his snout and towards the back of his head. He laid on me and licked my cheek. He was very fluffy and his hair was thick.
He buried his nose in my sweater and pawed at it. "If you follow me home or allow me to go to Uncle Jacobs I'll run with you. I just don't want to leave my clothes here." He stood and leaned down to push me up towards my Uncle's. He walked next to me and I undressed on he back porch. He stared as I noticed I was in my bra and panties. "Hey! Turn around." He dropped his head to the side. "I know you can understand me." He let out a snort and turned. I slipped off my under things and put them in a pile before shifting. I knocked into him before running towards the cliffs.
