As the old man vanished into the distance. The silence in the room finally melted.
"Humph!" Rio crossed his arms and looked away.
That's when Reka's eyes shifted to the rag around Kobi's legs.
Her eyes widened, her pupils constricted, "T-Two!?"
"Huh? You said anything?" Kobi patted his packed chest, his eyes widening subtly; 'The injuries truly are all gone!'
"Are you doubting the system's powers?" Shik appeared in front of him and asked.
Kobi took a deep breath. He wanted to rip this bitch like a rag-doll. Spank him in front of his kids. Heck, spank his children and his last seven ancestors. Then go to his wife and show her a fake video of him cheating on her. This shit-hole... but Kobi was so kind, despite knowing he deserved more revenge. His modest heart would just sit good with his. But...
'Oh great system of a thousand bitch-beastly and demonic powers, you who challenge the wrath of dragons and get fuc-go wreck havoc! How can I not fuc-be enchanted by your wife-powers!' Kobi flashed a saint like smile, his body radiating an aura of pure innocence.
Shik kept nodding his head up and down with an aloofly arrogant smirk, "Good! Good! Keep licking my boots like this and I will keep granting you my blessings"
Kobi almost cussed... how dare he say it so openly!? Heck! Why even say that? He was a true saint, alright? His grandpa commanded saints to trample over a thousand devils! Then didn't his grandpa become more profound than a saint? So, he had his blood, wasn't he something like a saint himself? Hmm! Hmm!!
He had one of the highest virtues ever! He was one who never ignored beggers and always mocked them! He was one who never let a poor leave by him without him throwing a few dirty pennies at them. He was one who always helped the elders mess things up! He was... a good guy!
Reka rubbed her eyes in horror, wh-where did such a magnimious smile come on his face from? He- he looked like an angel! H-How, just how is it possible? For this devil too... unbelievable!
Kobi suddenly felt something loosen near his private's. He looked down... only to see two.
He blinked his eyes... before shoving his hand in. "How dare you, you pesky shit! You think you are more beautiful than mine? You think you can live near mine? You disgusting pest, you would finally gain some worth if I leak a few times in you! Humph!" Kobi hurled the bottle on the ground, causing it to crack immediately.
Shik raised his brow, immediately a recording started to play, with Kobi hurling one praise after another to the bottle.
Kobi tactfully ignored the buzzing bee and muttered to himself, "Disgusting trash! Trying to get cozy with little me! Humph! Should've seen its own ugly face, is it beautiful like mine? Is it tall like mine? Humph! Ignorant crap!"
Reka glanced at the ceiling and let loose a heavy sigh. 'Saints turning into devils are believable, Devils turning into Saints aren't.'
"Hmm! You," Kobi gripped his hips and gazed at Reka, "Village girl!"
Reka massaged her temples, "Reka!"
"Hmm, Peka!" Kobi nodded, hinting pridefully he understood.
Reka's lips spasmed, how could he act so serious? "Reka! Re-Ka!"
Kobi frowned slightly, "Alright, Keka!"
Reka slammed her palm on her face, in exasperation, she hurled out praise to this divine young master, "Yes, oh great lord of commoners!"
Kobi cleared his throat... before abruptly halting, 'Huh, huh, huh? What did she call me? What, what? Did she say Great Lord of Commoners? Did she? Did she? Hahaha! She ain't bad!'
Kobi nodded gleefully, "Hmm, so Reka!"
Reka's lips twitched, 'He's playing with me, isn't he?'
"Lets go and survey this dung-yard, shall we?"
Reka's lips spasmed, 'This ass-hole!'
But remembering the old man's words, she gritted her teeth, 'What were you thinking grandpa? What if this bastard upsets the whole village?'
"Hmm! Your silence is very professional! Maid girl Reka! Lets go!" Kobi clasped his hands behind his back and stood in front of the curtain, the house's gate, in wait of Reka.
Reka calmed her nerves, 'Bear it Reka, bear it! Despite all, he saved you and more than anything, your only family!' Reka patted Rio's head.
"Rio, you go play with some friends. Big sis will show this lolicon around the village meanwhile!" Reka smiled.
Rio snorted and looked away. He was upset, she had laughed at him too!
Reka got up and arrived next to Kobi, seeing him just standing, her brows furrowed.
As he shifted his head slightly and aloofly gaze at her, she understood, "Fuck!"
Cussing, even to her surprise, she stepped forward and 'opened the gates' for Kobi.
Before the supreme one finally left the house.
Looking back, Kobi's guess was confirmed, 'Indeed a straw house. Which medival age is this?'
Glancing around, Kobi could see that every house was made of straw. The poorly paved road was littered with debris and stones with grass growing here and there.
"Where do you first want to go?" Reka blinked her eyes, before saying, "The cesspit?"
Kobi's lips spasmed, he looked into the far distance, vast lands occupying the left and right of the road had a thick blanket of the scent of strange vegetables and what not he couldn't recognise.
He could see the villagers working in the lands diligently, their burly hands relentlessly moving under the scorching sun, sweat donning them from head to toe in a thick layer as they tended the fields like their children.
He glanced back, only to be slightly stunned. 'A forest?'
"What's up with that?"
Reka, tracking his gaze, remembered his words, 'He truly doesn't know where he is, huh? My eyes have opened, even devils can speak truth sometimes.'
"Lemme explain! This village is connected to the Scorching Jaw Desert. Its a highly dangerous place with various beasts rampaging left and right. This village is connected to the desert but due to the danger... its still a large distance away. Near one and a half day on a horse to say.
"This village is between the desert and the Hopprick kingdom behind the forest, the Desert doesn't fall in any kingdom's territory actually, and the forest marks the end of Hopprick's terriority.
"The Kingdom and the desert have a neutral area, the clear-cut boundary of the forest and the place where... you met us. You were in the desert's outer... very outer edges, but even going there is forbidden for us neutralians. So... what were you doing there?" Reka blinked her eyes innocently.
Kobi nodded, "Good question! So what's the answer?" Kobi stared at her in curiosity.
". . . ?" Reka blinked her eyes, "How the heck am I supposed to know?"
"Humph! Why even bring it up then?" Kobi looked away in loath.
Reka's cheeks reddened, 'This! This jerk!'
Kobi ignored the boiling tomato and started walking towards the fields.
The villagers upon seeing him waved and came over. Surrounding him with their greasy and sweaty bodies.
One of the villagers flashed natural yellow teeth and forwarded his hand. "Thanks man! You saved our little Reka and Rio!"
Seeing his oily features and kind demeanour, she sighed internally, 'This jerk, I wish he... It's not just him, I wish the city folk could all see how kind we all are.' Reka sighed.
Seeing the still air, the man's eyes widened slightly in realization as he intended to withdraw his hand.
Kobi's eyes morphed into arcs, his hand shot out and clapped against the man's palm before clasping it firmly, "Hahaha! No need, no need! Foolish people like this maid Reka, I save them like doing a crap!"
The man's eyes blinked in bewilderment, "Huh!? ...Oh! Hahaha! That justs goes to show your compassion and kindness brother!" The man grinned widely in joy.
"Hahaha! Of course, of course, I am a Saint from blood after all!" Kobi nodded his head calmly.
"S-Saint?" The man's eyes widened in momentary horror.
It wasn't just him, the villagers and Reka herself stared at him in fright.
"Of course!" Kobi nodded and patted his back in a brotherly fashion. Glancing at the others, he smiled at said, "Nice to meet ya all, I'm Kobi Colls!"
***
Some time later, after the elder had gotten his fair share of sleep.
He happily got up from his comfy bed made of monster fur and wool, far better than the other villagers.
He smiled lovingly at his old wife, while caressing her face, before getting up and walking into the living room.
Decorated with wooden furnishing, including a sofa set and a dinning table, he walked towards the small book-shelf.
Ignoring the various books, he glanced up at the shelf containing an array of rocks contained within glass containers, a luxury beyond compare for villagers. Much less an all bones old village chief like him.
His hands moved past the various containers before halting at the circular blue rock with pale silver spots, the old man's eyes flickered strangely, he gulped before muttering, "Oh, great beast! When will you hatch?"
His brows furrowed suddenly, "That girl Reka... she was attacked by wolves." A keen glint flashed in his eyes, "Have they finally tracked your traces?"
He sighed, "I need to be wry! I wouldn't mind putting up a post in the adventurer's guild but those louts... they never come. Humph! One day, the one soon to come, I will trample over you all!"
