Chapter 42 - Chapter 42

I was totally confused and he seemed to be confused too. I'm sure he has been worried about this incident since then. But the incident really needs to be investigated thoroughly because, it puts Ryan's reputation at risk and also the friendship between the two have been destroyed. I wanted to know more about what really happened.

"Where did Juan say she was raped?", I asked curiosity.

"She said in an unfinished building, I guess", he replied shortly.

"And after she claimed she was raped, she left for California?", I asked again.

"Yeah , but not immediately after it, she waited for like a week before moving away"

"Did she come to school the next day after the incident?", I didn't know why I was asking all these questions but there's something fishy about the incident and Juan moving away.

"She came two days after the incident "

"Mmmm I see", I said nodding my head.

"You earlier said she's the only witness to the case right?"

"Of course, she's also the victim….. and wait why all these questions?", he finally realized I was asking too many questions.

"Urhm… I'm just trying to find certain clues hidden behind the case", I simply answered.

"If she indeed is the only witness then you can't be sure she was really raped or not", I continued.

"What do you mean by what you just said?", he asked looking angry and confused at the same time.

I was really trying hard to get things together but it was just too difficult. I need time to find out the truth for myself . Keenan wasn't looking so good at the moment so I had to end the conversation so that he could have some rest. But I thought again, what if by morning he goes back to his old cold self and refuses to answer my questions or even talk to me. I had to gather all short informations from him before morning.

"One last thing, are you really sure Juan loved you as much as you loved her?", I didn't know when I tried into a relationship counselor.

"As far as I know, we loved each other very much just that..", he paused.

"Just that what?", I had to know.

"She used to just complain that I make her study too much and I'm too possessive of her but she stopped complaining later", he concluded.

'So that's it, she wanted a chance to break free from Keenan and she used Ryan', I thought.

"I see", that's was all I could say to him.

"It's getting late, I think I should get going home with Ryder ", he got up from the couch and said. I also needed time for myself to think and solve the torn parts of the case together.

"Yeah right", I said and led the way to my room as he followed.

We knew those two were already asleep so we didn't bother knocking on the door before bugging in but we later regretted it. Those two had changed their position from the table to my bed. They were lying on the bed comfortably facing each other for God knows what they were doing. Keenan cleared his throat score they both jumped off the bed in shame scratching their heads.

"Urhm…we …", Ryder wanted to speak but he couldn't find his words.

"No need to explain, you were just learning right?", I asked teasingly.

"Exactly, that's right ", they said in unison before realizing what they just did.

"I mean no", Jennie wanted to speak up finally.

"Well Ryder , get your books let's get going, it's getting late", Keenan who was leaning on the door quietly finally spoke. He's such a fun spoiler.

"I didn't know it was already late", Ryder said.

"Oh yeah, you wouldn't know", he said and dragged him out of the room.Ryder came back to say goodbye before finally leaving.

After they had finally evacuated the house, I turned to face Jennie who kept messing up her hair.

"Miss Jennie Brooke, are you aware of what you are doing to your hair?", I asked her as I threw myself on the bed.

"Urhm, Ash let me explain, nothing happened ", she said sitting beside me on the bed.

"Come on Princess, I'm just telling you to stop messing your hair up"

"You are just too silly, she said and pinched the skin behind my brow. We both laughed happily before sleep took over our senses.
