"Last semester ", she started and I prepared myself to listen to all that she had to say.
"There was a rape incident in this school which was the cause of the issue between the two guys"
"And how is that suppose to mean ?", I still didn't understand what she meant by that.
"Keenan had a girlfriend who was very beautiful in every way, very intelligent and respectful. Keenan and Ryan were very good friends too who did almost everything together. The lady's name is Juan. Ryan seemed to be interested in her but she fell in love with Keenan instead of Ryan which made him very jealous and angry"
"Let's take the seat there", I said pointing at an empty seat at the far end of the cafeteria. She stayed silent for a while since we couldn't talk while in the queue waiting to be served. After taking our meal to our reserved seat, I urged her to continue talking.
"When Ryan couldn't contain his jealousy anymore, he decided to get Juan raped so he could own her."
"What?", I asked shocked. I couldn't believe my ears. For the few months I stayed in the school, I knew Ryan wasn't a good person but I didn't know he was a whole devil disguised as human.
"That's nothing to get surprised about", she said cutting a piece of meat.
"You mean he did worse things?"
"The whole problem is, Ryan planned the rape but not only did he rape her but tried to shut her up after he was done with her. He threatened her to keep quiet about it and break up with Keenan if not, he was going to make her life hell in school", there was a long pause after her last word. "Are you crying?", she asked. I didn't even know tears were falling from my eyes. I didn't know I was the only one who went through such pain. I wiped my eyes and faked a smile.
"Don't mind me Jennie , I couldn't control it", I said sadly.
"I understand what you are feeling now", she said and passed me a tissue. "No need to continue the story anymore, let's finish the food", she said and started eating faster.
"I want to hear the rest of the story, please continue ", I really wanted to know what happened to Juan after the incident since I haven't heard anyone with that name ever since I stepped in Winchester High.
"Are you sure you can take it?", she asked worriedly.
"Sure", I replied boldly
"If you say so…, Juan couldn't contain the shame of what she went through so she reported the matter to Mr Gupta since he was the only one who could punish Ryan . After her report, she officially broke up with Keenan and left to California", she finally ended. I was really sad about the story I just heard. Keenan must really loved Juan.
"I knew Ryan was a bad person but I didn't know he was such a demon", I said wiping my eyes.
"The ones best friends became enemies overnight but Keenan still cares about his friend even though he looks heartless on the outside ", she said.
"I think I can agree with you on that", I said after thinking about his reaction when I told him about Ryan's condition in class earlier. I wanted to ask Jennie if Ryan had problems with his health but refrained since I didn't want her to think so much. "I hope Juan will be okay some day", I wished truly from my heart.I hardly touched my food but Jennie emptied her plate. We walked back to class after lunch to continue the day. Keenan was already in class so I looked around to find any trace of Ryan but found none. I sat quietly and the day continued silently as usual till the end .
