I just couldn't wait to enjoy the meal specially made by Elena Hart. It's been a while since my family sat around the dinner table to eat as one.
I hurriedly took my bath and rushed downstairs.
"I can see someone can't wait to finish the food on the table", mum mocked when she saw how I rushed downstairs.
"Don't get ahead of yourself mum, I'm just considering the fact that you used your time to prepare it if not, I wouldn't have even come down", I replied getting my cutlery ready.
I got my food dished and without waiting for their long prayer, I dug in.
I really missed the taste. I kept filling my mouth till I could fill no more while they just kept their eyes on me.
"Thanks for the food anyways, it didn't even taste that nice "
"But how come your plate is empty?", dad always want to get me speechless.
"Just didn't want your wife to know her meal didn't have anything special ", I said and ran to my room as fast as I could.
I was just texting Jennie to check up on her if everything was cool with her when I got to my room. There was a knock on the door which I hurriedly opened. It was mum.
"Mind if I come in?", she asked raising her shoulders.
"Of course mum", I said pulling her in.
I gestured her to sit which she did while I waited for her to speak.
"Princess ", mum always addressed my by that title whenever she was worried
"Yes mum"
"Are you really comfortable at school?", I finally knew where that worried expression was coming from.
"Oh come on mum, you scared the hell out of me, I thought there was a problem ", I heaved a sigh of relief.
"I'm just worried we didn't make the right decision "
"Mum, it was the best decision you ever made", I said tapping her shoulder "I mean we ever made since I also agreed ", I added with a smile.
"I feel relieved now"
"You should be", I said and she gave me a hug. "Do you know what mum?", I asked her leaving her embrace.
"Waiting to hear it from you"
"Mum, I can speak comfortably in the midst of guys or even to them without stammering or whatever "
"Really", she gave me surprised look.
"Of course mum"
"I hope no one if flirting with you or messing around with you"
Now that she asked of it, I didn't know if it was the right thing to tell her about the R3 guys. I know how dangerous things could be if I dared mention them to mum. There was no way she'd would stay calm if she found out some rude guys were messing around with her princess.
'Why don't I handle this myself, besides I'm not a kid', I thought.
"Young lady I asked you a question, did you hear me", she called me out of my thoughts
"Urhm….what did you say?", I asked rubbing my hand in my hair
"I asked if there was anyone messing around with you", she repeated.
"Who will even dare mess around with the o ly princess of the Harts?", I asked mockingly and we both laughed.
"I'm glad you are improving ", she said after the laughter died out
"Oh yeah "
"So tell me, has any guy proposed or are you crushing on anyone or by any chance….."
"Mum!"'
"Is it bad for me to ask?", she wasn't moved by how I shouted her name.
"I'm not ready for that please and besides I don't like it when guys become touchy"
"But you said you feel comfortable around them", she raised a brow.
"I did but u didn't say I feel comfortable when they touch me", I said and laid on the bed not wanting to continue the conversation again.
"Anyways, I'd drive you to school tomorrow ", she raised another issue.
"What?", I sat up straight on the bed.
"What's wrong with that?", she asked.
"Mum I'm not a kid anymore, why would you drive me to school?"
"I'm not going because of you, I want to go and talk to the principal that's all"
"But mum…"
"No buts my dear", she cut me off " Now have some rest", she said and kissed me good night before leaving my room.
Mum's mind can never be changed once it has been made up. I thought about it till naughty slumber took over my senses.
